I flicked Talksport on and caught a bit of the news bulletins.
I'm sure they said one of the stories of today was that Villa tried (and failed) to get an insurance company to insure our cup final prize money before the second leg on Tuesday.
I only heard a few seconds before they stopped, but their tone and lack of ridicule toward the story made me think it wasn't a bollocks Twitter rumour or something.
Has anyone seen anything relating to this?

Bradford apparently approached us before the 2nd leg and offered to split the revenue for the final. Board apparently considered it but Lambchop said no.
-
Why is that even something Lambert would have a say in?

Presumably he was confident of us getting to the final!. Doh etc..

It would have been a boardroom decision. Lambert would have no say in it.
-
And the league would have disallowed it anyway.
-
How small time would it have been if we agreed to split the cash before the game was played?
Damned if you do damned if you don't, type of story. Load of bollocks.

Just relating what it said in the article. Bradford are obviously desperate for the money so were willing to offer us half of the final revenue in case we beat them. They also tried to take out 250k insurance in case they lost to us which is probably the bit JJ-AV heard. Neither of these deals had been run by the FA i might add so it was unlikely to happen
-
Yeah they wanted to try and split it with us, probably assuming we would beat them. Don't think such an arrangement would have been allowed but I'm glad it didn't happen. It would have been a travesty had we got any money after our diabolical showing.
-
I think such an allowance probably would have been made as a similar thing happens in the Play-Offs each year. Whichever team loses the Final gets to keep all the Wembley money to compensate for the money they miss out on via failure to get promoted.

I can't believe a word of that.

sounds like bollocks to me.

Sounds a bit Serie A.
