Another good read.

I still think bringing N'zogbia off was the right sub at the wrong time. He should have done it with 10 minutes to go. Bearing in mind we've got 3 games now in 9 days, i understood why he did it.

I particularly like this line from the article which is absolutely bang on - (addressing the issue about our lack of transfer activity this month)

"such a gamble is far too reckless and the price of failure way too high".

I reckon we have made bids for some decent additions but the selling clubs are holding out for silly money. There may be movement at the end of the window when either us or them panic.

It's just as likely that we've made bids, but given our present position the players are reluctant to come here.

"Saturday showed that there’s a decent team in there but also that the difference between Villa winning and losing is probably narrower than it is for any other team in the league."

Nicely put. Apart from our hammerings there's been plenty of draws that we could have turned into wins.

If the money is right, any player will go anywhere, i think QPR's purchase of Remy proves that.

Good article, Dave
(thought I'd beat Darren to it)

Thought you could have gone with 'Press-ipitation' this weekend!  ;)

As usual, can't fault the article though!

Great article as usual Dave - spot on with your assessments of the current state of play at VP

Or 'Press-ing the self-destruct button'.

If the powers that be do indeed think the squad is fine as is then it's an opinion held by them and no other, much as the 'appointing McLeish is a good idea' was.

Terry Willis has always come across as a decent member of the Stripeyfilth whenever i've heard him on the old wireless. It was a good article as well.
