Legends i Lions Club today were Brian Little and Steve Hodge (not a legend).
How low we stoop.
-
Yech! Jesus and Beelzebub in the same room!
-
You must be joking. He's got a big pair of bollocks on him - or is he here to take the piss out of us? Or is the club taking the piss out of us. Sack of Monkey Poo.
-
He must be desperate for money then. Why doesn't he go to a big club, like Sperms, on matchday?
-
'kin 'ell...that's it, we're doomed.
-
I mate sent me a text regarding this earlier. Fuck me, if you need anymore evidence that we've had it then you're blind as a bat. deaf as a post, and thick as a whale omelette.
-
I briefly saw him, he looked embarrassed, skulking out the way while people queued up to have their picture taken with Sir Brian
-
Another example of how out of touch the people in charge at Villa Park are.
Still, serves as a reminder as to how shit a relegation season is.
-
Was Hodge at Villa Park today? Thought I saw him but not sure.
-
I was in the Sky lounge after the game and in walks Sir Brian and him. I had to explain my anger to some younger supporters when he replied to a question saying 'Villa need more experience'. This from a England International who jumped ship in 86/87.
I tried to get a few young kids to spill some water on the tiled floor, betting them that when Sir Brian walked in the water the soles of his shoes would be bone dry. Shame they never saw him play.
-
You'd think the club would be smart enough not to invite such a vastly unpopular former player to do this.
-
Go the whole hog and invite O'Leary and McNeill.
-
The board are taking the piss out of us.
-
Hopkins and Blake for the Bradford game.
-
Hopkins and Blake for the Bradford game.
With Nigel Callaghan providing the pre-match music on his wheels of steel.
-
That's absolutely unbelievable.
The player has some face to turn up too - guess the pay check was too much to turn down
-
Seeing Hodge was like seeing the grim reaper.
-
Next they'll be welcoming back Alpay, mind you given the current state of affairs that may be a good idea if he's still got his boots....
-
Just proves how out of touch our club is under Lerner and Faulkner. They haven't got a damn clue about the Villa. Hodge was absolutely despised by fans for what he did back in the mid 80s. How he has the nerve to creep back to the club to pick up a few quid for one last "appearance" is beyond me.
Get Steve Stride back to the Villa for Christ sake.
-
He is still despised, the odious little sack of monkey shit.
-
I didn't see him myself but heard Brian was in there. When I got in they said that they thought Hodge was the other one. I couldn't imagine they let that c**t in the ground but had it confirmed later. Who advises these people? I would sooner see Bob Latchford and Bob Hatton in there.
-
He was on Talksport the other week and even admitted on there that he was unpopular at Villa Park.
-
Hodge being there is like having the Ghost of Relegation Yet To Come present, cock in hand laughing loudly at our impending fate.
-
I can't decide if he is war, famine, death or conquest.

Maybe at a push dc5 , but definitely not TF.
-
Hodgey must go. Still not forgiven.

Like the arrival of the first horseman of our relegation apocalypse.

Some might disagree with me, but Dwight Yorke ranks right up there with Hodge for me. Whenever I see him doing any Villa-related punditry my hackles rise. I wouldn't allow him within twenty-five miles of Villa Park.

Kissing the Utd badge in front of us at Old Trafford was a bad move by him. Here starts more division in the ranks.

After being baited mercilessly by the Villa fans. If you can't dish it out...
And in fairness to Dwight, though he is a mediocre pundit at best, he always talks us up when covering our games.
-
Jasper Carrott is on live in the Trevor Francis suite over Easter.
-
Dwight left Villa for trophies - which he got.
Hodge left the Villa in the shit. - He won nothing. The man is a parasite.

Parasite? Yes
Won nothing? No. League Cup with Forest. League title with Leeds.

A clown at the big top.

I feel Dwight owed us a little loyalty after we spotted him and persevered with him in his early career. We were so close to having a very, very good team when he decided to leave. Who knows, if he'd shown a little faith in Villa he might have won more trophies with us.
I'll add David O'Leary to the four horsemen, too.
-
Steve Hodge - FUCK OFF!!!!!!!

This, did anyone give him any abuse?

Tend to agree.
Wouldn't begrudge him his move to Old Toilet (didn't say that at the time, mind).
But:
1. The move
2. The no show at Everton away to force the move
3.The badge kissing incident (more than once, did it for Cackburn too)
and
4. "Everyone knows that historically Birmingham City are the biggest club in the region."
means there's no going back for me.
There's ingratiating yourself with new employers, and there's talking shite.
Bridges well and truly blitzkrieged.
A shame, as some of my fondest Villa memories are with Dwight in the side.

Especially when you consider he had nothing to do with the goal (I'm thinking of his first match against us after he left). Somebody else won a free kick, not him, he was nowhere near. Beckham scored it and Yorke ran over to us and kissed hís badge.
-
It all justifies my decision to put a picture of Andy Lochhead over him on my Sports Argus Villa Legends picture. Couldn't have Yorke grinning at me.

Martin Keown and ?
Steve McMahon, never heard him say anything good about us, always felt he hated being at VP

I liked him but felt that he only came to us to avoid a direct transfer between the two Liverpool clubs.
-
Hodge? Very good. Shows they're thinking.
Might I suggest Alistair Brown an Mark Halsey as future guests. And Richard Keys.
-
Coming soon.......an evening with Alpay at the Holte Suite.
Tickets, only £65 per head. This includes chicken in a basket and access to expensive piss water.
-
I'm surprised he goes back to any of his former clubs except maybe Leeds. He bailed out on us, Spurs and twice on his boyhood club.
-
Jesus wept. That is absolutely, staggeringly unbelievable.
They really have no fecking idea do they, none whatsoever. McGrath save us from these numpties.
I'm also equally amazed he accepted.

I'm sure his fee made it an easy decision!
Beggars belief really - fair play to all in there for not chinning him!

In case anyone missed it yesterday
Steve Hodge FUCK OFF!!!!!!

How much do you think they get paid to go then, surely it can't be that much?
Hodge would need to be very hard up, stupid, brave or a piss taker extrordinaire to have taken the gig.
Wonder which?
-
Two things.
Steve hodge can fuck off.
Secondly, when he was doing punditry on Star Sports (Asian ESPN) Steve Mcmahon always spoke highly of us.
As for Yorke, i agree that it rankles when i see him doing punditry about us. I can't forgive him for something which i can't put my finger on. No badge kissing baiting which I really don't give a frig about, but just something about hinm now just gets under my skin.
-
Im pretty shocked at this decision by the club , its as bad as having TSM as manager.

Could it be the fact that when Yorke joined Small Heath, he stated that he'd always thought of them as the biggest club in Brum..?

When I lived out in Australia, and he was doing punditry for FOX Sports (or maybe ESPN) he mentioned Villa a few times. More than Bosnich anyway, and he always seemed to be complimentary.
Think he was going for one of the managerial posts over there and he said something along the lines of "I've played for three of the biggest clubs in England: Everton, Villa and Liverpool, so I know what pressure is all about."
Plus, he spared us the misfortune of having to endure Alan Brazil trotting around VP in a Villa shirt, the useless old bloater:
clickage (http://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/372)
"I turned down Manchester United to join Liverpool, that's how much I wanted to sign for the club.
Villa were playing at Southampton. Manager Tony Barton named the team at midday, then pulled me to one side to explain why I wasn't playing that night. It was the last few matches of the season and I was leaving. I had made it clear that I wanted to move back to the north. The manager said: 'I think you might like this move.' He informed me that Manchester United manager Ron Atkinson had made a satisfactory offer that had been accepted by Villa. I believe it involved a swap deal with Alan Brazil.
I think I shocked Tony Barton when I replied: 'Thanks but no thanks.' There had been a great deal of press speculation that Liverpool would move in, and I was prepared to bide my time for that chance."
