Meh.

He's a bell end with an axe to grind, but I don't really know why so many people get so annoyed by him. He's doing what he gets paid to do, be controversial.

I sometimes wish I cared as much about Robbie Savage as a lot of our fans do, but I don't. He's just one in a long line of pundits, sports writers and even our own fans who wrote us off far too early.

feel free to delete the thread then, just thought seeing as it was a hot topic when he did it it would be a humorous thread

I am sure people will want to comment. I just do not like him so i suppose it acts as sign of our progression. Not that he is a respected pundit, he is just an ex nose with nothing else to do ........

A bit hypocritical of that twat Murray not to withdraw his piss-taking about the signing of Benteke while they were at it though.

Liked what he said about us tonight to be fair. Thought his relegation prediction in August was silly and designed to be controversial but up to this week I don't think any of us would have thought it a bad bet.

Cant they find someone to be controversial who at least gives the impression of being intelligent?  Savage cant even manage controversy, his words just merge into one long stream of tedius bollocks. How can anyone work with the twat?

I had been anxious and having sleepless nights for the last 4 months.
Now I feel relief, I'm less stressed and feel like I can start to get on with the rest of my life.
Thank you Robbie.

Almost worth getting relegated now, just to make him look stupid.

I was and am still surprised that the BBC thought it was a good move to have him as a pundit. Savage cannot even do controversial and his performances on the Saturday evening phone in are just embarrassing to the point I turn off. If BBC radio want to compete with Talksport whilst festering down at the bottom of the sports journalism barrel then that particular objective has been achieved.

He looks and sounds like a pre-op transsexual. I care not a jot for his opinion.

(Apologies to any pre-op H&V members)

Squirming in his chair, head bowed, eyes closed as Murray made the statement.  The tell tale signs of somebody who said something that they really wish they hadn't.

In some respects, it's actually quite good of him to admit he was wrong and change his mind.  A lot of the idiots on there just stick to the same guff no matter what's right in front of their eyes!

At least he's shown the balls to accept he made a mistake and feels he was wrong- many other pundits wouldn't do that.

No, that's not their style.  Hansen and Lawro don't keep with their point when it's clear it's totally wrong.  They change tract and start spouting superlatives as if that was what their train of thought all along.

He's a dreadful "pundit", I can't believe they use him so much.

I had to meet him, and spend a couple of hours in his company, once for a project we did at work. I'd like to report that he was a total cocksocket, but he wasn't. He was actually a very pleasant chap.

Must admit savages book was one of the best football autobiographies I've ever read- sort of player you hate but would love in your team.

He won't be the last revising his predictions and thoughts about the Villa. I'm looking forward to today's Guardian pod - they've been getting more and more positive about us recently, so this should be fun listening.

I don't give a shit if he's got a perfect pesonality - anyone who wears a jacket like the one he had on last night must be an absolute twat.

He looks like a badly dressed Afghan Hound

And some of us still think it isn't - 8 out of the bottom 10 have to come to Villa park in the remainder of this season.  It's in our hands at least.

Not really. If you had him in your team, you'd know you'd never been more than average.

Colin Tattum told me that when he was at The Blues, he used to indulge in the most childish of pranks. His two favourites were, hot tea spoon on your hand and putting his finger on your chest, when you looked down he'd flick your nose.

Reckoned he had the mentality of a 10 year old.

I would imagine he's grown up a bit now he's out in the real world a bit more.

6-0-6 with Robbie Savage & Johnny Vaughan the other week was one of the worst radio shows I've ever heard in my life. To be fair though, I can't now recall hearing Robbie Savage. It's not very often Mr Lizz attempts to put his foot down, but after 5 minutes, he point blank refused to listen to the show any more.

I think they were the first set of national pundits to spot it, around the time of the Man U game. Others like on sky sports admitted at the weekend that they just couldn't see it when lambert was talking us up.

I still find it noticeable that many journos don't know / care who's playing for us. The guardian team line up prediction had lichaj at centre back and herd on the left wing. The bbc motd line up had us playing 352 but I think Lowton at centre back, bannan at left wing back and lichaj on the right, or something similar.
