Sad to hear of the death of Dave Sexton at the age of 82.
Dave was a coach here for a spell in the 90s under big ron and a really nice bloke , he also managed Chelsea, Man U, and coventry among others.
Commiserations to his family and friends.

Good coach by all accounts.
Treated very shabbily at Old Trafford.
-
I remember his QPR side in about '76 when they finished just behind Liverpool.
Classy, powerful side.
Was at Wolves the night they were relegated losing 1-3 to Redscouse which won them the League. There were lots of QPR there supporting the Dogheads.

RIP Dave, our coach in 92-93 for a while I think.
-
Met him at Bodymore just after the home leg of the Tranmere semi-final in '94. Really nice bloke. RIP, Dave.
-
Big Ron said he was the best coach he ever worked with
RIP Dave Sexton

A gentleman manager who knew his football.

The fact that he was 82 has made me feel very old

Me too! I still remember him as a young Chelsea manager in the late 60's when me and my school mates made occasional forays down to that there London to catch a game. Happy days.

The last time I seen Dave Sexton he was in the Villa shop (Big Ron era before the days of the Villa Village) buying lots of merchandise for his Grandchildren.

A hark back to when managers with skill won things - or at least got their teams close to winning things - rather than money just buying success year in, year out. His QPR team played some superb stuff at times - Don Masson, Gerry Francis, Davey Thomas, Ian Clement et al!
