Title: QPR
Post by: Duncan Shaw on November 24, 2012, 10:24:12 PM
So, we get Harry's first home game in charge.  Whay does stuff like that happen to us all the time, you just know they'll turn us over.  Didn't we get one of his first Spurs games too?

No.

He took over in October and we played them in March.

The cnut does seem to have the sign over us so wouldn't shock me if they turned us over. Vital we beat Reading.

When you say it happens to us all the time, when was the last time it happened to us?

Oh I don't know Dave, maybe no specifics, but the team that hasn't won for ages, striker on a scoring drought they often seem to break the duck against us.  As the QPR run has gone on I've looked to our game and thought surely not against us.  now they'll have Harry in place with all the media circus around it, his first home game and they'll be up for it, when if we played them last week they would have been a dispirited rabble.  Maybe he'll put the nail in MON's coffin first.

I think QPR will be safe, I thought that before Arry took over. With a few bob for a centre half and the odd signing and he will get them going. Happy just not to lose next week.

Probably a good time to play reading though after today? Swings and roundabouts.

is this a myth that happens every so often in football and just sticks?

i remember Pompey slapping us 0-3 and 'arry getting hit by a coin against us (cant remember if it was the same match)

but i dont know if his record is amazing against us?

Panic not - don't believe the hype. Didn't he get Southampton relegated? He's not as good as you think.

I think it's more that Tottenham have been much better than us for 2-3 years.

We used to beat Wet Spam a lot when he was in charge and we benefited wholly from that remarkable admin fcuk up that allowed an illegible player for them to appear against us in the League Cup when he was in charge.

I hope our fans don't get into that horrible self righteous stuff we do with Redknapp where we act like he's the devil incarnate who has particularly annoyed us rather than a somewhat irritating football manager.

QPR will go down, I don't think Redknapp can save them. He is not the ultimate rainmaker.

he will get a million for saving them

and feck knows how many millions he will get in january from the owners

i think he has a good shout of keeping them up...at the expense of reading, southampton and 1 other

2 more games without winning, Sunderland and Villa and I think they would go, as it would mean essentially 35 points from 24 games, which is tough going for a side without a win, but they are 2 pretty decent fixtures at the moment to walk into. Add in 20 million to splash in January, and I reckon they will survive. Just.

In the words of Keegan though, I would love it,love it if we beat them.

Wasn't it Hiddink's first game in charge of Chelsea?

Recent examples:

Southampton stuffed us earlier in the season when they couldn't buy a corner.

The one that always sticks in my mind is Diego Forlan when he was at Man U.

I hope we smash em, and Reading too. Nothing against the teams but we need the points and the confidence very badly.

Ha!

I remember the chant in the replay: "Win when you're cheating, you only win when you're cheating".

We should have won the first time round- a combination of a diving Paul Kitson and Gareth Southgate's famous penalty spot prowess denied us then- if we had lost 4-0 in the first match I doubt Doug would have pursued it. As it was, it felt as though justice was done.

Harry will probably keep them up but I think he's gonna struggle through Christmas until he can't start shaping his own side. He's got too many old players who don't give a flying fuck and aren't going to put the graft in. If we show the determination and concentration we did against Arsenal, and have as strong a 2nd half, then we'll beat them.

I quite fancy us to go 3 wins on the spin.

absolutely loving your optimism but for a  aside who have only won three league games in around eight months or so three on the bounce is a very big ask. But here's hoping we do.

Just seen him get back into his car window interview routine, at least he didn't say 'triffic'.

I think MON beat him once in his time here and that was when he was at Pompey.

I still think QPR will go down, they need 10 wins to have a chance of staying up. 10 wins from 25, that's not far off 1 in 2 which is hard enough for teams in the top half.

I've thought all along the team with the most chance of staying up from the bottom 3 that started this morning is Southampton and I still believe that.

That's another reason I hope they go down tbh and they're replaced by a midlands team like Derby or Forest where it's cheaper and we can take good numbers.
