Post by: martin@ardenley on November 16, 2012, 09:40:15 PM
We have now teamed up with Viagogo, you can either click the Ticket tab/links on the page or the image below, any commision earned goes towards the running costs of this site. Thank You

Please note that from the start of the 2015/16 season Villa are now using Seatwave. (http://www.seatwave.com/aston-villa-fc-tickets/season)

Good idea.

I can't believe how cheap some of the tickets that are posted on there are, got some Arsenal tickets for 15 quid the other week.

Some good deals there by the looks of it. Is there anyway to get cheap away tickets as I'm already an ST holder?

I'm pretty sure it the club posting those.  They were always there last season and I've picked up some cheap tickets for the Newcastle match already.

Thanks for flagging this site up. I just bought six tickets for Sunderland game, getting a lot of family together, priced as £10, worked out £12 each all in. It's not clear if they are together, but are in the same row, so yes banking on being able to move about/together if need be...
Can't imagine the cut to H&V is much, but am passing the link of this thread on...

I've just posted my tickets for Saturday on there for £25 each.

Used Viagogo to sell my seats for the Spurs game - they were sold - any idea how soon before I get paid? -it states on the day of the game - but if they are by BACS when should my account receive the dosh?

It takes a few days.  I think if you buy tickets on there they take the cash straight away and if you sell tickets on there they only hand over the cash a few days after the game.

Viagogo are very good at keeping hold of people's cash for the longest possible time!

Thanks Adam - years ago I would not have dreamt of selling my seat for any game- now, however with the constant changing of fixtures and poor fayre on offer at Villa Park its an option I may well explore for the rest of the season ! As long as I get my money that is.   :o

Good stuff! Got my 6 tix for sunderland tomorrow and they *are* all together, though hoping as said we can move more centrally if space / it's practical to move a whole family.

My 4 year old nephew instigated this trip from London (me) & Hampshire for his first game, will be interesting! He might be even younger than I was at my first game, we're not sure! (i do wonder what i've done to him! still his dad & older brother are Reading, it could be worse!!!)

I always used Viagogo before I got my ST. As money was tight got some real bargains. The best being WBA home which was a fantastic Lower Holte seat and cost me about £13.50.

Never paid for than £20 for a game. Admittedly it was random where I sat but whenever Upper Trinity I just moved more to the center after KO. For most matches there are loads of empty seats together in the middle near the back.

And if money is tight, for matches where you know it won't be anywhere near a sellout take a gamble and wait to buy a day or so before the game. I did that a couple of times and didn't get charged any P&P as it was too late for them to be posted so just picked them up form the Trinity ticket office before the game.

Have started this season and booked all available except the Arsenal match (sister's 40th); had my Newcastle ticket through ok but still waiting for Hull.

Saved about £30 what I would have spent on ST so far - will still consider a half-ST later on in the season though

Not sure what you have to take to get tickets from the office?
Title: Re: Viagogo
Post by: Stu on February 21, 2015, 10:17:35 AM
First time using these; I bought a ticket for the Stoke match on Wednesday evening. They get posted first class post they said and here I am on Saturday morning without my ticket. On the confirmation email I received, they said that I would be able to pick up the ticket from the Trinity Road kiosk if I didn't receive it through the post. Fine, but the entire point of me ordering through viagogo was to avoid having to arse about on Saturday morning getting a ticket, so any convenience that this service was offering is lost. Further to this, you have to contact customer service to arrange pick up of tickets, yet they fail to provide a customer service number on their website, so I had to check out a couple of forums to get one.

When I eventually got through, the customer service operator spoke very quickly with a strong accent and was clearly disinterested in my complaints - I asked for a refund of handling costs because I paid for first class post which didn't happen - he apologised and then wittered on with a string of unintelligible sentences that I couldn't make out. I'm hard of hearing and I explained this to the guy but he didn't give a fuck. So now I have to go to Villa Park to pick up a ticket before doing the usual pre-match stuff. Why can't I pick up from the shop in town? No one knows.

I won't be using this service again as the discount in ticket price isn't worth the ballache of dealing with these ******. I'd have sooner paid an extra tenner to the club and wish I had done.

I've used them loads over the years and never had a problem. I didn't think they posted them when bought that close to a game.

If that is the case they did not make it clear during the purchasing process and in any case were offering postage options.

Fair enough if you've had no problems with them though. I find their customer service poor, however.

Villa's is much better. Got through to the Villa ticket office to find out that Viagogo had messed my address up, somehow. I find that weird considering it's gone through a computerised system. So their admin staff are also poor. Villa have arranged things so I can pick up my ticket from the club shop, which is awesome.

I'll stop moaning now.

Check your confirmation email as it will have the address you entered on it, could be you made a mistake? I did once when ordering from somewhere, which was pretty embarrassing cocking up my own address!
The confirmation should also say if it's being posted or not. I've only once bought a ticket close to a game and it stated when I was ordering the ticket had to be collected from the Trinity Road ticket kiosk on the day.

More often than not the Villa are superb at sorting out any problems.

Yeah, I checked the address. It's correct on the confirmation of purchase email I got, but I never received an email confirming that they had been posted. You can't track your purchases unless you're signed up to viagogo either and I'd purchased mine as a guest, so that was out the window.

The address issue came about, I think, because there is a letter after our flat number which was inputted after my purchase as "37" (according to Villa) instead "3F", so my ticket is with someone now. Hopefully an Albion fan.

I too have used them all season with only one problem. Normally good but when they do cock up you have an experience like Stu's where they just don't get the fact you feel mucked about. I contacted them around Xmas because I knew there was only one day to receive post and they were going to miss it. Received an e-mail saying tickets sent. Didn't arrive. Had to collect them but complained that they had actually lied to me as the tickets were never sent. Ignored me but I expect no more from anything to do with "entertainment" companies

They will not post tickets that close to a game. It is always collect. When I have bought on Viagogo really close to a game it clearly stated when I was booking, and on the confirmation email, I had to collect the tickets in person for the Trinity ticket office.

They should automatically go on, but if you call them asap to double check, and especially if you want them going on 3 different references, the club should sort it.

Just a quick review for anyone thinking of using Viagogo next season. Attended all home matches except for Stoke.

I used them for the majority of the league matches (80%) and only had one issue when I had to collect due to Xmas posting. See above post. When I wanted to sit with mates or middle of the Holte (for Cup especially) etc I went through the TO. All my booking references were recorded so had no problem with Wembley tickets.

Will use them again next season but keep to the Holte as I had too many arguments with opposition in the Upper Trinity and I value my freedom/good looks ;-)

Missed having an ST but still won't give Lerner my money before I know what he is doing with the club

The ticket office told me earlier that we are no longer dealing with Viagogo.

They are however trying to offer an alternative service/supplier for ticket resale. This won't be in place in time for the United, and probably the Sunderland fixtures.

To be fair to Viagogo  they offered a generally good service (unless something went wrong) or you decided that you wanted to go at the last minute, when extra charges were added not only for their service but also for collecting the tickets.

Fans of other clubs moan about Ticket Stub who are Viagogo's big competitor in the market.

The delay does have an immediate impact on fans who live outside the West Midlands area and perhaps cannot get to each home game, like a Friday night against the Mancs.
