Title: Fixture changes
Post by: PeterWithesShin on October 05, 2012, 01:12:02 PM
Seems a couple of fixtures have changed.

Chelsea away moved to Sunday 23/12/12 4pm KO

Spurs at home on 26/12/12 moved to 5.30pm KO

Yet again we are the late game on Boxing Day.

Can anyone work out how many consecutive times we have been on TV on Boxing Day, it feels like at least the last 5.

Wont be able to make Boxing day then.

Are these the changes for December only or part of a longer period?

Just means at the first pint will be taken slightly later on.
I would rather be there though. Boxing day footy is great, comparing socks and shite jumpers.

Confirmed on OS

Quote
Villa are set for a TV double-header during the festive period after games against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were selected for live broadcasts.

Paul Lambert's men will now travel to Stamford Bridge to face European champions Chelsea on Sunday December 23.

The match kicks off at 4pm.

The Boxing Day home game against Tottenham at Villa Park has also been moved to a later time.

It will now kick off at 5.30pm.

Both matches are set to be screened live on Sky Sports.

I know it's factually correct but I'd rather we didn't acknowledge that lot as European champions. I'd just about forgotten it.

Seconded. I wish the OS would stop licking the arses of our opponents, it's bad enough when our managers do it.

It makes you wonder why Sky would want to screen Villa twice in three days over Christmas.

I think it's more the fact that we are now considered cannon fodder, as are much of the league, for clubs like Spurs and Chelsea. I'd like to think, certainly in the case of Boxing Day, that it won't quite be the case.

Villa v Spurs on the telly at Christmas seems to be fairly common. A repeat of the 4-1 Collymore show 15 years ago would do quite nicely.

Ironically that's not even the latest game on that day, Stoke Liverpool is on at 8! Which was our kick off last boxing day. All the other fixtures are at 3pm.

SOTC & I won't be going on Boxing Day.

I've only got 2 days off work so I'd rather spend the evening in the warm with a bottle of Rioja.

It was indeed and against Stoke.  Could have been a nightmare but Premier coaches picked us up from and dropped us back at Knowle 'bus station ( ok it's a wooden 'bus shelter in reality).

I hope it's a festive feast of footballing fayre, just like last season's 'Clash Of The Shiteans' at The Britannia.

Nothing will beat last seasson when they referred to Tottenham as the 'Aristocrats from London' and made us sound like a non-league team about to have their day in the sun against Premiership opposition.

In all fairness though, the OS is a load of wank anyway.

The OS can't really print things like "Spurs, with their delusional wankers for fans, will no doubt flatter to deceive as usual and whatever the result, you can be sure of furious masturbating from Sky and the popular media"

Let's hope our tv form improves this season as 5 of our next 6 home games are being televised live on sky or espn, along with the Chelsea away game , the games at home to Norwich, man utd, arsenal, reading and spurs are all on live tv.

Anywhere to park safe near knowle bus station Pauline as it might be easier for me to travel to away games from knowle .

As Jimmy Saville is dead and we cannot put his balls through a mangle, do it to some senior personnel at Sky instead.

Yes, as I pointed out to the nice lady from the ticket office who phoned to try to sell me tickets to some of those home games. I will be going to the 6th, Stoke, with a proper 3.00 Saturday kick-off.
