i have copied this off a Man City fans forum

3rd post down
"I remember Peter Fletcher saying that Villa were normally the 2nd worst fans to come to our ground?
Last night summed up why, they're just nasty"
Peter Fletcher is the Stadium Security & Safety Manager at the Etihad Stadium
Can someone who went last night please explain why this has been said please!!!
-
They were the wankers they forced us to stand in a small section of seating when there was a big empty section next to us.
They probably upset the nasty Aston Villa won
******

i asked the question on there forum why he had said that
and his reply was
"well he's head of security so he should know.
there's banter and there's just being nasty, and some of your lot last night were just nasty, looking for trouble"
and a different bloke posted
"Bit bemused by that as well. There are a handful of clubs that regularly cause problems and Villa are not one of them"
-
A very strange comment. The Villa away contingent are normally congratulated by other teams for being amongst the very best. I've certainly never seen any trouble or "nastiness" the times I've watched Villa away there.
-
Sounds like sour grapes to me.
-
There was a villa fan rang talksport about abusive chants towards petrov from city fans last night, did anyone hear these as I haven't heard any mention?

It was discussed on the match (and maybe post match) threads. Looks like some Man Ure twats trying to stir shit on the wonderous invention that is Twitter. Several people who were there have said they didn't hear anything.
-
There was a slight problem with two/three/four (not sure how many) who had travelled on the official coaches who had turned up for the journey very drunk and were a bit of a pain on the coach and at the services. They were warned by our stewards as to their behaviour. Apparently, when they arrived at the ground they continued drinking. They were warned again.
As far as I could see the problem was being dealt with by our stewards and our Police spotter. Whether they were any bother to Citeh's stewards I have no idea.
I always thought our away fans, in general, were well thought of.

Thanks for that.

It's perfectly possible he was exposed to a handful of dickheads.

We didn't hear any abusive chants towards Petrov and none of the people I've spoken to who were there heard anything.
-
You'll do well to scoop up a thousand or so people, put them in one place and find that they are all paragons of virtue.
-
We do some have some twats who follow us, there's no denying it. Then again so does every other club in the country. We often read on here about how every Nose is a lowlife filth who sell drugs to grannies and mugs babies when the truth is the vast majority are normal people like you and me.
Football fans reflect the society we're all part of, most are decent normal people but the old saying about empty vessels making the most noise is never more true and means that the biggest knobs seem to attract the most attention.
-
i have been told that there was a few (around 10) man city fans singing abusive chants towards Petrov
-
Well nobody on here who was there heard it. I think we should let this one go.
-
I was there I never heard it
-
I thought the Man Utd fan who stirred it all up on twitter had admitted it was all bollocks?
-
I was there as a City fan and just heard the usual banter. Nothing "nasty" from either side. Villa fans were up for it and we weren't up to our usual standards. Mind, you, watching your team get battered whilst piss wet through doesn't really get the juices flowing.

This
51% of them are ok
-
I didnt hear any anti Petrov chants?
-
That's because there weren't any and the Man United supporting imbecile who posted the comment on Twatter has admitted he made it up.

Welcome back Dean. Good to see you didn't begrudge us a rare (away, against a good side) win.
-
At Soton on Sat I'll admit to trying to get as far away from our lot as possible but not because they were 'nasty' but because I have my fill of overwrought screaming kids in the week.
-
I found it a bit embarrassing at Southampton. We were in a nice boozer mixed fans having a decent time, then when the kids had smashed a couple of pints down they start singing "Southampton a shithole I wanna go home"
The locals smiled, I'm sure they were thinking - and you're from ?
-
There were no complaints about our behaviour when Houllier went there in the 5th round of the FA cup and obligingly surrendered.
-
Bad losers.
-
I was close to the segregation in the corner, yes there was a lot of banter flowing both ways some a bit close to the bone but thats football i guess. Never saw anything untoward though from either set of fans, the line of stewards on the segregation were laughing the songs we were singing on the way out and saying goodbye.

Yes, the other 12 are right knobheads

Every team have nasty/nutter as fans no matter where you are. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Probably cause we spent half the game lobbing the match ball around.
-
Think the scousers and Man utd fans are the worst i have heard over the years. But obviously the noses mean it more concerning us. Bothered !!!
-
I went to Blues vs Millwall last season and got a lesson on modern day 'nasty fans'.
-
Why, what happened?

Was a small bout of that on Tuesday ;)

Why, what happened?
It all tried to kick off after the game and I got hit by a bottle. It was just weird for me, being as I'd only ever been to the Villa where there's rarely any trouble. Plus I'm young so it was really a new experience for me.

Bad luck mate.
-
I am only ever been really frightened down the Villa twice , once surrounded by Liverpool fans and the other having coins thrown at me and my dad by Manure fans.

You weren't at the Glasgow Rangers "friendly" then?
