ManUre away.
-
Burton Albion at home will do me. We'll get a shite draw though like Man City away.
-
Does anybody know when the 3rd round ties are likely to be played?
-
When's the draw?
Cov at home.
-
Thursday, I think.
-
When's the draw?
Thursday after the Dogheads match.
-
Cheers. Always exciting watching the cup draws to see which one of Man United and Blackburn we're playing this time.
-
Won't be Blackburn as they lost at Milton Keynes tonight. Imagine, a whole year and not playing fecking Blackburn!
-
Leeds at home.
-

Still got the FA cup, so I won't be counting my chickens yet.

Unlike their owners.

I've found out its the w/c 24th Sep for anyone that's interested.

This excited me much more than it probably should have.
-
ManUre away.
Worried me then. I thought the draw had been made.
-
I'd like Burton Albion at home.
-

-
Someone shit away ooh coventry
-
Anyone shit at home - lets just keep under thr radar until we get our mojo going
-
Coventry Away
-
A lower league team at home will do fine
-
ManUre away.
Opened a thread titled League Cup round 3 and the very first post says Manure. Then relief as I realise its just a guess!
-
Chaventry or Wanky away please
Or Burton at home, they'll do
-
ManUre away.
I'd have thought that Northampton at home would have been your preference
-
Ideally I'd liek Preston away but wouldtake Wigan or Burnley away................
-
Bradford away would suit me!
-
Burton or Coventry at home please.
-
Burton at home.
-
Someone rubbish at home please.
-
Anyone at home
-
Reading/Southampton/any London club away!
-
From a selfish point of view, as I'm on holiday so won't be able to attend anyway, any team away.
-
Crawley away would be good for me geographically, but awful for the fact that we'll probably get beat!
-
When is the draw, I know I am lazy and should look harder?
-

Tonight after the Wolves game.

We've got Man City away.
There's always next season chaps.

Bollocks.

Oh dear.

Mickey Mouse competition etc.

I hate cup draws.
-
We'll win.
-

-
Oh for fu...
-
Fuckin racked off.
-

Blame the fella that posted this, he jinxed us!
-
At least its local. For me anyway.
-
At least we'll go there and try to win (I hope).
-
Our version of Balotelli will score a hat-trick and get sent off all before half time....
-
Bad news for them. They've been drawn against 10 times European Cup winners today.
-
Meh
-
Stephen Ireland to run the game up there and then we swap him for Milner and 10 million quid ;)
I know he is never coming back.
-
We're having a bit of luck at the moment, aren't we?
-
We'll go there and batter them.
-
Thats rotten luck. The worst possible draw. At least its early on in the competition.
-
No probs with that. We will win. Mancini is going to be shitting himself to much about being in the same group as Real Madrid and will forgo this cup 100%.
It's ours this season and a great building block for our new Manager and new squad.

Wow you are optimistic...i like it!
-
Whatever team Man City put out, they'll still be better than us. I don't think we'll surrender like under Houllier, and I'm confident we'll 'have a go,' I just don't think we're good enough to go there and win.
-

Good one! :)
-
OFFS... send the reserves, take any positives from good individual displays/keeping the score down and move on.
Still got the Cup to look forward to...
-
What a crap draw, still let's have a go and see what happens.
-
So, who do you fancy us to get in round 4? Hopefully we'll get the winners of Bradford v Burton at home.
-
Can't believe that. its gonna be another shite season this

We have to be. We will beat Manure in the final aswell !!!
-
If we were going to win the cup we'd likely have to play them at some stage. Better early on in my view before they start taking it too seriously.
Still can't see us winning mind.
-
Aslong as we don't have a repeat of the Houllier fiasco I'll be happy.
-
Oh dear. Lady luck smiles on us again!
-
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. First they draw Real Madrid, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund. Then they get drawn against us.
-
Rubbish draw again. Even before the money we have always struggled up there.
Just saw a link to this vid on twitter Gabby with the perfect hat-trick and Man City had Ched Evans up front, only four years ago it's amazing how things change.
-
Incredible, watching that. Only four years ago as you say. Two weeks later they bought Robinho for £30m. We got Salifou on a free. Neither of us have looked back since.
-
Bollocks. I suppose if we get past them, we'd have to start fancying the trophy. Sods law though, but if we do beat them, we'll probably play those cuhnts Utd after and they'll customarily twat us.
-
At least we'll go there and play to get a result this time.
So did Houllier!
-
If you have to play the so called uber teams than early is good as they tend to take it a bit more seriously in the later rounds.

This did nothing but depress me.
Whatever happened to the Agbonlahor in that video?
-

I think we take it just as seriously in these early rounds.
-
People need to grow a pair. We don't have TSM in charge. Lambert took Norwich to places like Man U, Arsenal and Tottenham in particular and gave a good account themselves. We're not going there to lie down and take it up the shitter. We're going there to win. If we lose, so be it, but in the cup, and especially this one, we have every chance of winning.
-
Just hope this time our manager has a go for it instead of saying we got no chance might as well field a weaken side.
-
At least it will give our young squad more experience of playing against one of the better teams...take the positives from it whether we win or lose.
-
City are up against the combined weight of 15 European Cups. They've got Bob Hope against any of us.
-
They might not take it too seriously if it is sandwiched between Premier & Champion League Games. Therefore we will win.

They could put out a second string that will hand our arses to us. We hardly ever won at City when they were shit, it isn't going to change now, and no amount of the usual 'man up' or 'grow a pair' type phrases is going to change that.

Someone told him to bulk up and he lost his speed and agility!

Who mentioned those phases?? Not me, but you do like to make shit up to post for effect at times Risso. I just think that if we play a strong team and go out to play without fear we may stand a chance of winning, as they may be more bothered about other competitions.
-
The ties are to be played the week commencing the 24th September. Citeh's fixtures around then are:
23/09 Real Madrid (a)
23/09 Arsenal (h)
??/?? Us
29/09 Fulham (a)
03/10 Borussia Dortmund (h)
So I doubt the chumps leagues is going to have much impact on the team they put out but I'd still expect a 2nd string.

Sothampton just went there with a newly promoted team against Man City's best XI and led 2-1. They gave it a go. What makes you think we'll go there and just take a beating? You really have given up haven't you?

I'm sure everyone in a Villa shirt will try their best, but based on what's been seen so far, I don't see us getting a result.

I don't know whether to be pleased that it looks like they'll be distracted or depressed that they get to play Real and Dortmund....

Arranged for Tuesday 25th September, 7.45pm ko.

Do we think Lambo will go for it or throw it?
-
I just clicked on this thread again as I couldn't remember who we got. Then I realised why I'd put it out of my mind. Bollocks.
-

Not a problem for them as they have more than enough players to put out two first teams plus subs!
-

Any news on free coach travel?
-
Nothing to fear, they couldn't give two hoots about the Rumbelows Cup.

Excellent. I thought it would be the Wednesay as they play Arsenal on the Sunday, so two games in three days. Saying that, even their 'second' team looks bloody good:
.............Balotelli(Dzeko)......Sinclair...........
Milner...................................Suarez
...............Razak.........Barry..............
Rekik.........Nastasic.....Kolo......Maicon
....................Pantilimon...................

Same. I think the near full Villa Park with the whole Lower Holte standing is what depressed me the most though.

I remember watching that game in a bar in Florida. There was a "bigger" game on the main screen and ours was on a small telly that me and a cluster of Man City fans were sat around. It was just as news was breaking of Shinatwa's misdealings and I remember the City fans were saying they'd be facing a tough time to stay up, some of them really worried about the future of the club. They also broached that they saw us as the most likely team to break into the Champions League places. Only four years ago.
-
Do we think Lambo will go for it or throw it?
We don't really have a senior XI anymore, just a rotatable squad padded with loads of hungry young players so I'm not sure if we would be able to tell if he "throws it" or not.
