Watched the game on a feed today, I think the guy could be a great player once he has settled in and adjusted to the pace of the premiership.
I had the Donna Summer song "State of Independence" in my head when I heard his name beacause of the chorus.
"Shablam idi shablam ida
Shablam idi shablam ida
Shablam idi shablam ida"
Be great if any budding songwriters on here could re-write some lyrics for our new midfielder. My creative juices dont stretch that far unfortunately.
I'll get me coat...

I just wish we would unite behind the Rock the Kasbah version. It would become iconic.
-
Yes, that would sound great, better than my idea.I don't think we have had a really great song for a player since "Dwight Yorke,Dwight Yorke"
-
A few people were doing the rock the casbah song before the game but I didn't hear it in the stand
-
Have to say, every time I heard the commentator say El Ahmadi today, I had the start of State of Independence kick in on my internal jukebox.

Could have the 'Just can't get enough' song, "El-Ah-Madi, na na na nana na na na na nana nana na na"

Had to spotify that ( I know the song , I' ve got the original single) couldn't work out the na na's without hearing it.Good call , I still think Rock the Casbah is the way to go , even if it was the song that sounded the death knell of the Clash as a punk group.
As an aside does anyone else think the punk movement was full of rich tory boys pretending/wishing they were working class.(The Clash ,Sex Pistols obviously dont fall in that category) I 'm thinking the Buzzcock's ,Toya fucking Willcox and lady's and gentlemen, allbeit a few years later I give you chumbawumba's Danbert Nobacon

Oh I agree, just that I can see the 'just can't get enough' one being easier to get behind as the song's a lot more popular. 'Rock the Casbah' should be priority.

Not Buzzcocks surely, Pete Shelley is the son of a mill worker.

The Buzzcocks are from Manchester. There aren't four Tories in Manchester. Diplomat's son Joe Strummer, on the other hand...

Careful Dave, men have died for less than questioning the Strummer's cred :)
