Andy Gray with 2 great headers.
-
Those where two brilliant headers by Gray and a fine goal by Cropley.
-
What a great little Bank Holiday find. It has brightened my day that.
Love the loo roll boys (as opposed to ball boys) lol And how many kids in the crowd have got parkas on? Great work between Little and Gray for the first - oh for our forwards to be able link up like those of yesteryear
-
Always nice to beat those animals.
Thanks Bertlambshank, good find.

I went to this one. My abiding memory, Leeds fans are a nasty bunch.
-
It seems that the away end there were quite a few Leeds. Or at least many people not cheering our goal.
It probably has it's own thread, but what did you the Leeds do back then to get that reputation?
-
Great goal by Alex Cropley, I really enjoyed that.

I was at the match. Think we parked by the coaches. Turn right outside the ground and down the hill. It was bad enough then but got worse in years to come.

Alex Cropley - what a player he was. Career ruined by shocking tackle if I recall
-
Indeed. It's great to finally see a video with Alex in. He was a cracking player, much loved by the Villa fans and that clip shows him at his best against a very strong Leeds team, a team that a few months previously had lost in the European Cup Final to Bayern Munich.
Great find. I wish there were more videos of the 1976/77 season around.

Fond memories for me as I was at school in Harrogate at the time and three-quarters of the kids were Leeds fans. So games with them were akin to playing Birmingham for me. I regularly got my head kicked in at school if we beat them which luckily didn't happen for a little while after we had been promoted. Note the muted celebrations by Villa fans in the video, if you went to Elland Road in those days, you certainly didn't celebrate too wildly, particularly if you had to walk back to Leeds station afterwards...

All 3 very enjoyable goals

Has anyone forward every headed a ball with such fucking intent as Andy Gray did? Still send shivers down my spine watching that second goal of his.
The winner he scored from a Graydon (I'm pretty sure is was Graydon) cross in the 3-2 at VP against Man U is one of my favourite goals ever - and of course the Holte went mental! Anyone know if there is a clip of that anywhere?

George
The 3-2 win over Man United in 76/77 was a game shown on ESPN Classic over in the UK a couple of years back (about 20 minute highlights).
Not sure if this is a channel you can get in New Zealand.
Haven't seen it on you tube though.

Cheers Richie - I'll see if I can track it down
