I was just looking at the proposed route of High Speed 2 Rail in the Bodymoor Heath area, as my parents-in-law live there, and was dismayed to see that, whilst previously skirting the edge of our training ground, the latest version of the route shows it flying straight across it, very close to where the entrance gates currently stand.
The road that the entrance stands on, Bodymoor Heath Road, is also shown being diverted off its current alignment and up and over HS2.
Not sure if this is common knowledge or has been acknowledged by the club. Presumably, if it goes ahead as shown, we will get compensation and will be able to extend elsewhere to cover the loss of land.
Here's the link. It's Map 27:

I'd be more than a little disappointed if we don't get at least three pages of pretty weak train puns.
Right, who's first?
-
That's insane. They must have a loco motive.
-
Why would anyone choochoose that as the route?
PDF file was damaged, so my PC says.
-
So that's why it is called a training ground.
-
I hope it happens, we'll be back on the right track in no time.
-
Bloody hell. just looked at the map. It's very close. Fuck that!
Not In My Back Four.
-
That derails our Bodymoor plans....
-
I'm literally Steaming...
-
I suppose Dunne could take some tips from one on the trains going past to improve his turning circle?
-
It is a shame McLeish won't be around, he would have loved it watching as the trains draw closer.
They could have a station on the line for potential signings to come in on....
Seriously, if we own that land, I am pretty sure we will have to be refunded any costs of relocation.
-
This 'signals' the new intent.
-
Just when we were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
-
Well it is a train ing ground.
-
I suppose Dunne could take some tips from one on the trains going past to improve his turning circle?
I've heard he's handed in a transfer request as he wants to be the new 'Fat Controller'.
-
The fat controller will be happy oh sorry I meant Richard Dunne.
-
A video mock up has been done of how the team will now travel to Villa Park
-
So, I reckon Thomas upfront with Bent, James as the new LB and Percy in midfield.
-

Ringo as Manager ?
-
Our youth set up will be renamed "The Railway Children".
-

What about Thierry Henry?
-
Shows progress.
Can't be stuck with those old 4-4-2 locomotives forever.
-
Those puns are the only worthwhile thing published about HS2. Nothing else about it makes any sense at all. Support http://stophs2.org/
-
Hear the Fat Spanish Controller is back in the running for the manager's job.
-
I think we'll have to railroad any plans for this HS2 through BH.
-
I wonder when the video of Gabby outrunning the train will appear on youtube?
-
Hopefully will wake up the sleepers
-

Ringo as Manager ?
Prefer him to Lennon.
-
The Perpignan-Barcelona-Madrid HS line has been built just down the road from ours. It's ace.
-
I can't cope with all this new fangled shit; I'm still coming to terms with the seed drill.
-
Anyway, after the "Five Year Plan" it is now clear that we're getting there.
-
And another thing, how are we going to cope with leaves on the line?
-
And another thing, how are we going to cope with leaves on the line?
Well, unless we remove or cut back all the deciduous trees in the immediate vicinity, a regular coating of Sandite gel to the rail head should solve the problem.
-
They should run it through St Andrews and The Hawthorns and call it the Route of all Evil.
Seriously though, I'm not chuffed about this.
-
It's all a load of ballast.
-
At last, a box to box type with a good engine!
-
Where would the nearest station be? We could attract players from overseas who only want to live in London.

Curzon Street station site.
-
The runaway train came over the hill and she blew
The runaway train came over the hill and she blew
The runaway train came over the hill with McCarthy driving and TC too
and we.......aargghhh!
Goodnight children everywhere.
-
At last, a box to box type with a good engine!
My personal favourite so far.
-
The way we have performed at set pieces this season it would appear that training has been a train wreck for a while.
-
Sorry Mr McLeish I think you misheard me - I said shunt
-
I suppose Dunne could take some tips from one on the trains going past to improve his turning circle?
Would you want him that near to the buffet carridge

Oh dear - Bad English to the site please

-
How much do you think we wouldget from the Gov to reloacate? Obviosuly they would have to pay for a comparable training ground to be built which I would guess would be into the £15m range plus the cost fo acquiring land suitable. Could we see the training ground being close to Villa Park?....
-
The place will be full of training spotters
-
Will we have to employ a Pullman coach?
-
The 3rd class coaches will be called Bibs & Cones.
-
Doug's not going to stand for that. He will have a quiet word with Boris and everything will be rearranged to Deadly's satisfaction!
-
This is clearly a miscarriage of justice.
-
It just goes to show that there's more than one way to get off the buffers and onto the right track!
-
Bo-Bo dymoor Heath.
-
might improve our crossing for one, and maybe we could have a timetable put in place for our next steps to greatness
-
They are going to have a huge marquee which lights up in colours when the train is ready to go .... it'll be the signal of intent we've all been waiting for!
-
What's the point?
-
I've just read this thread and there's a lot to choo chew over.
-
To get decent compensation we need to send out the right signal, box clever.
-
This is bad news.
I've been across the tracks, and I know what it's like.
-
Well, at least we've had a Fleeing Scotsman.
-
We've been Tommy Tank all season.
-
Anyway, thanks for the info Tom. Its wasted on these first class wankers. And a few in economy too.
-
Full steam ahead for us after this season.
-
Randy will be pleased to see that gage back on the pitch.
-
With Lambert at Villa we'd be Unstoppable.
At least we're no longer on the AMtrak since he got the Bullet.
-
Diese'll be disastrous plans for Villa!
-
Just the ticket! But I shunt be surprised if the whole thing's delayed and then cancelled.
-
AVTV has been buffering all morning.
-
I'm siding with the club on this issue.
-
Will it built on time?
-
Definitely not on board with this idea
-

No worries Bruv.
I'm disappointed to see that my post has not been taken seriously. I'm definitely considering taking out an in-junction.
-
I can't cope with all this new fangled shit; I'm still coming to terms with the seed drill.
Apparently the bloke who invented the seed drill was found standing on one leg and playing a flute!
-
Typical British Rail, the instruction clearly said to get interCity!
-

I can't work Locomotive Breath into this, try as I might.

You'd need an Aqualung.
-
You're living in the past.
-
You're living in the past.
And you're Thick as a Brick.
-
Ive just found out there was a railway engine on the Great Western called ..wait for it...Lambert! The managerial position is thus filled!
The Great Western as you all know is Wolvos best pub.
-
I choo-choo-choose not to partake in this pun business you speak of.
my god that was terrible.
-
You're living in the past.
I was going to use that one!...Im pig sick as is the good lady Blodwyn! Going back down the Bunker till they name somebody

Well quite, but what have those songs and Clive's band got to do with trains?
-
Has anyone used the one about Given coming off the line yet?
-
Well I for one am in favour of the extra railway line. Its another chance to meet Iggy Pop and David Bowie.
-
I was hoping for new coaches and a fast passing ball game at Bodymoor Heath.
Not new coaches passing a ball game fast!
-
Can't see the pont of it really as we have already witnessed Emule train...
EMule train, yeah, yeah.
EMule train: trppetty-flopping over hill and plain.
Seems as how he’ll never stop.
Trippetty-flop, trippetty-flop, trippetty, trippetty,
trippetty, trippetty, trippetty-flopping along.
-
My head hurts.
-
The person who came up with this idea ought to get the bullet.
-
I've heard that The General is steaming about this?

Yes, we need to express our opposition.
