Title: Time to be Positive!
Post by: Chipsticks on May 13, 2012, 05:45:01 PM
Cheer up everyone, this terrible season we've been forced to painfully endure as ended, and we can now look towards the future. So lets have one of our world famous 'reasons to be positive' threads to lift the doom and gloom.

1) Season is over
2) We're still a Premier League club
3) Manchester United have not won the Premier League

I'd start this thread again the moment McLeish is fired. Until then it's going to be tough to be positive.

I'm pretty positive he'll go.

The season is over.
Manure got karma'd for that game against Sheff Weds. It's been a long wait but worth it.
I don't have to watch us again for a few months.

It was a noble try.

I'd suggest timing wise have another go early next week when the rawness of a truely awful season has numbed a little.

I am not positive at all he will go. In fact, im the total opposite i think they will come out and back him. The shit really will hit the fan then, but would you bet against it with our board? i wouldnt. Watching man city lift the trophy then made me sick to my stomach how dare they have any joy at times like this. mcleish and the board have turned me into a bitter jealous pig this season

Nothing positive about watching other teams winning games when we are so shit. The only positive would be for Villa to start again and sack McLeish.

True, but neither of those players have conned us for penalties and acheived the mythical rank of superjudas.

Fuck Man Utd and fuck Ashley Young.
And fuck Ferfie for sticking his meddling red beak into our business. This Bud's for you.

I'm certain Comical Alex will be potted on Monday. That is something to make us all feel overjoyed.

Next season won't be this bad. It can't be.

We haven't got to watch Villa try to draw with anyone for months.
Heskey will never play for us again.
We've got a couple of new kits to look forward to.
Chris Herd is going to be ace.
Darren Bent might play for us next season.

There are a few positives.

Not to forget Weimann, Lichaj, and Clark are starting to look like good players.

Also, Stephen Ireland seems like he'll be with us next season, and we know there's a great player in him somewhere.

If we get a manager with some attacking intent, hopefully we'll see the best of our boys. I mean for all that N'Zogbia and Alby have been shite this season, playing in such a stifled, negative side doesn't help players like that. If we're more adventurous we can get more out of them as well as hopefully see something of Makoun too.

This is exactly how I feel.

For all the stick I've given him when Man City have come to Villa Park, and for the feeling of betrayal I had when he left - he's a damn fine player, a good professional, and I'm happy he's finally got what he's earned.

Look at us now. Look at City. Can anyone really blame him? He probably knew Villa wouldn't do any better and eventually we'd regress. Doubt he'd have imagined quite this much, but now he's got an FA Cup medal and a EPL medal. Fair play to him. He was a class player and just a whole level of class better than what we have. He might have a fat arse but he made the right choice. Can't blame him at all. It's hard not to like GB. He's not a twat or an arrogant prick like most players. He has a good attitude. Same with Milner. He was just badly advised a couple of times with his dealings with the press, and trying to force his move to Liverpool.

The fact is we badly need another player like Barry. Someone who is consistent. Works for the team and is actually a decent player.

don't follow that logic at all. Both milner and young were brilliant for villa and young has proven he is a top class player at manure. why would you be happy he's been denied a medal but happy that milner has got one, what did young do to piss you off so much?

When Lerner took over, we'd finished 16th with 42 points.  Six years later, we're 16th again, but with only 38 points.  When dreams turn to nightmares.  Oh sorry, "positive", right...

The slate will be wiped clean.

4-5-1 will never be heard of again.

The good weather should be here soon.

Just had a lovely weekend away.  Hotel room overlooked the carrow road pitch, 50 yard walk to the turnstile, great company, shame about the game.  Good pub Saturday night for the men beer wise, wine wasnt too bad, either.

We just needed Big Feck to be gone, now we can look ahead to the new season, the baby won't be called Alex, Alec that is for sure. Plus finishing first in the predictions from our mini league cheered me up, I stumbled a little in the final furlong and dropped out of the champions league spot but finished with a top 10 place. I have to be happy with that, the old man plucked the wooden spoon out of the jaws of mid table mediocrity and we do it all again for the Euro's (if you want to ;)

It is a bit easier than normal predictions isn't it. You are the reigning champ still are you not. Them sleepless nights may allow you to watch the games live.

Can't wait, stil the champ and yes it is a little easier than the league... shall we have a wager?
