A long time ago...

Working saturdays for the past 9 months so i've only done 6 games this season, Albrightons goal against Arsenal was a great moment, although the last spine tingling celebration was Milners late pen against Blues.

Actually Man Utd at home last season, I was convinced the kids were gonna take us places.
-
Half time at Arsenal in the Cup. However............
-
Christ that video seems a long time ago.
The away win at Chelsea, thought we had finally turned a corner (false dawn as usual).
-
Honestly? The Weimann goal.

Really?

Arsenal away - penultimate game last season.
Superb atmosphere from the travelling support - and the blues unravelling at home to fulham helped.
How we laughed at their misfortune of having such a cluesless, boring, inept manager in charge.
Erm.............................

Erm.............................
This is the essence of what a silly appointment it was. On the final day of last season we were in high spirits because of his misfortune. Weeks later he was our manager. Jeesh.

Depends what you mean by feel good. If you mean a short burst of happiness then the Lichaj goal, and Weimann vs Fulham. If you mean long term things are going to be great feel good, then that's a different matter.

Long-term afterwards.

Boro 1981.

Honestly? The Weimann goal.
Really?
I think it was the fact that we'd had doom and gloom for months upon months, and that goal gave me the happiest monday morning that I've had in years.
It's the contrast to the depression that made it oh so sweet.

Chelsea away New Years Eve. Cracking day on the beer with some good mates and dad. Stayed with my mate who was a spurs fan. Went out in Farrington, spent on the company with loads of toffy Chelsea fans.
Needless to say, I mentoned the score on average every 5 seconds. I thought Mcleish had finally found the right system.......

Then the Swansea game.

The atmosphere when we beat Liverpool last home game of the season last season. The game itself taking backseat to the delight of dablues being relegated.
Recruiting the person who masterminded that feat took the gloss of it somewhat a few weeks later.

yesterday! i went out early and came back to my 2 lads kicking their ball about in the garden in their villa kits!
we went up the park later and they played villa v albion against some other boys and on the way back my 11 year old had a call from his mate(glory hunting chelsea fan) giving him some abuse about being beaten when harvey said, well i was there, i go to tons of away games and we sing our heart out for aston villa.
i know it wasnt a game, but aston villa made it!

The first game of last season, beating West Ham 3-0 with Kevin MacDonald in charge. I thought it could be the start of a new era. Since then we have had wins at Arsenal and Chelsea but no run of wins to make me feel optimistic.
-
West ham away last season was good, played well, last minute winner from gabby, and the fact we were then safe from relegation
-
Up until I read the team sheet for the game in Moscow, been downhill ever since.
-
Chelsea on NYE. Kept smiling all night long.
-
Arsenal at home this year, I really thought we'd turned it around after the Spurs, Liverpool and Manure shockers
-
I felt good when Weimann scored. I really don't know whether or not I also got a factor.

I met a new girl a few weeks ago and she stayed over at mine on Friday. I spent about 15 minutes on youtube showing her my favourite villa moments! They were:
1. Taylor and Collymore's goals against Athletico Madrid in March 1998
2. Villa beating Inter at VP in 1994
3. League Cup final 1996
4. AY v Everton in December 2008.
Here's hoping we will see days like those again.

Too right. I recorded MOTD onto dvd that night to watch again and again. I can't look at it now.

Has she got any mates??

Winning at Chelsea this season was the last time i really had any optimism of us doing anything. Sad,boring and completely fucking crap season.

This. The feeling didn't last too long though.

Boro 1981.
That was just about the best Villa performance I have ever seen. Think the score was 3 nil but we absolutely played them off the park. There we were just about to win the league and we were showboating for some of the game. Brilliant !
-
Today. I'm frigging delighted.

Played on 25 April 1981 and it snowed that night! We were good that day, but at my age I have seen many better performances....

Certainly on no occasion in the last two seasons!
One result from the M'ON era that sticks in my mind was a 2-0 win away at The Emirates and I remember going out with a couple of Man Citeh fans that night and we were all thinking never mind Aston Villa challenging for the top four we were going to be challenging for the title
It feels about a million light years ago now though...
-
Beating Chelsea 2-0 at home in 2007 was a real "feel good" game. Zat Knight scored on his debut (I think) and Gabby got the second. Seem to remember Chelsea being on a long unbeaten streak going into the game and us putting them away in style.
-
That's the "You're not special anymore" & doug shaking hands with Roman game. Jose left soon after that game if I recall correctly.
