3-1 The Villa

Zog, Cuellar, and Gabby to score, Reo-Coker for them just be awkward. `

Feck it, 3-0. Bannan and Gardner score after free flowing moves either side of half time before N'Zogbia lashes a 30 yard free kick into the top corner in the last ten minutes.

Christ returns secretly to initiate Rapture. Tribulation commences, 0-0 at half-time.

Second half, Battle of Armageddon. Bolton score. Visible return of Christ to bind Satan, Villa enjoy spell of pressure. Satan released, but Villa equalise against the run of play (Agbonlahor).

Resurrection of the wicked for final Judgement. Villa win corner, Collins nods in at far post. New heavens and new earth. Gloating

I'm not being negative for negative sake but I think we'll lose this 2-0, 2-1. We haven't put two decent performances together this season and I'm not sure we'll cope with a team playing for their lives. We'll bottle it and lose.

If we score first, and early, I see a relatively easy game for us, until we fuck up at the back (Warnock!) and make it the usual nervy ending.

2-1 Villa.  (Gabby 42, N'Zogbia 65, some fecker for them from a set piece 79)

Give Weimann a start and let him show us how good he is. You never know we might not need to swap Bent for Torres.
2-0 to us with Sir Doug coming on and scoring the winner with one of his trademark 30 yard bicycle kicks.

Not looking over our shoulders any more, so less tension in the team and the crowd will see us producing some decent football. I'd go with same starting line-up as against Fulham, and bring Weimann on later on. Nice relaxed 3-1 win

I think the celebration against Fulham indicated that the pressure was finally lifted. I think they will go into this game looking to really get us fans back behind them solidly. I think it could be a comprehensive win, by our standards, 2-0.

Gabby 22, N'Zogbia 55.

We'll score early on (16min) and then sit deeper and deeper and eventually Bolton will score one (82min). However, Bolton are fortunately so shit they will then go and leak one at the death (89min)

2-1 Villa win.

1-0 to us. I'm hoping it's not a repeat of the next game after one of the best results of the season syndrome, ie, the joy of beating Chelski then losing to Swansea.

We can't make the Bolton game due to combined work commitments. The first person I offered our tickets to accepted them. Initially surprised, but then pleased they were as keen to see Villa play Bolton as one of the so called top clubs.

Villa's preferred formation is with a lone striker. Weimann's the man in form, so I say he plays and Gabby sits.

I've always thought that Gabby's best position is as an impact substitute rather than as a starter.

Have to be careful of their new Japanese winger Miyaichi, supposed to be a real handful.

Read an interview about him, bizarrely revealing, apparently when he was younger he was a boxer but had to give it up as he ended up 'punch drunk.'
Also, for some reason, mentioned that his Father is incontinent!

That's my feeling too. We've played well the last two weeks without any final product. At some point that's got to come good you would think. Bolton will likely lose this weekend in the cup and we'll have a little more rest to take advantage of them physically and mentally.

Off course I am mentally prepared for a let down. Like backing red and black on a roulette table.

Good decision, good comments from Eck, and it means Bolton + players won't be distracted and fans of both clubs won't be inconvenienced by anno being dragged out.

Correct decision. Hope he pulls through.

Any idea when it'll be moved to?

The next couple of midweeks are tied up with their re-arranged cup tie and possible replay, then it's Easter. My guess is 17/18 April.

The correct decision and thoughts are with Muamba and his family. On the relatively unimportant selfish matter of Villa, though, that looks like us being stuck on 33 points until after the next 3 matches: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool.

Good that's completely the right decision.

Absolutely. The game at Swansea should not have gone ahead either - maybe some lessons were learned from that.

Assuming that you're talking about the game on the day of Gary Speed's death, its apples-and-oranges. On that occasion peoples were already at the ground for a game that did not have any direct connection to the person who died. Therefore I think it was correct for that game to go ahead, just as I think its correct that Tuesday's game doesn't.

The game at Swansea also had less direct connection with Gary Speed.

I understand the line of thought re Swansea, but think last night was totally different from other occasions because of the sheer immediacy of it.

I think that when 35,000 people spend ten minutes watching a young man getting administered CPR and having a defibrillator used on him, clearly, none of the fans or spectators or players are going to want to play the rest of the game.

If you then take that further a bit, Bolton players have watched one of their workmates fighting for his life. The last thing they're going to want to do now is train for, and play in, a game in three days time.

Swansea, I could have understoof if they'd called it off, but last night was a totally different kettle of fish altogether, I think.

Correct decision for me.

There are plenty of free weeks in April when this game can be played. Hopefully everything will be relatively o.k by then.

The right decision.
At the moment, the Bolton players and staff must be feeling shell shocked.

This game would have been the last thing on their minds.

Few points really, 1st being, only the very best for the player himself and football aside (which is of no importance) hope he makes a full recovery and gets on with the rest of his life, obviously nobody wants to see him cheated out of the rest of his career, which it kinda feels like if he can't continue, but the important things his is health.

2nd, how on earth did they not pick up on something which is clearly so critical happening in his body when he's looked at continually.

3rd, Have to say this, the postpone I don't think has done us any favour's, I think a win against Bolton would have set us up against what is going to be a tough period of games and I wouldn't want to have to meet Bolton later depending on a win for our survival, so IMO, would have preferred to have got the game out the way and won.
