2-0 Home win.
Ireland 23
Weimann 85
Same starting XI as v Fulham.
-
1-0 To us.
N'Zogbia
-
Is it still on sky?
3-3
-
3-1 The Villa
Zog, Cuellar, and Gabby to score, Reo-Coker for them just be awkward. `
-
Feck it, 3-0. Bannan and Gardner score after free flowing moves either side of half time before N'Zogbia lashes a 30 yard free kick into the top corner in the last ten minutes.
-
Christ returns secretly to initiate Rapture. Tribulation commences, 0-0 at half-time.
Second half, Battle of Armageddon. Bolton score. Visible return of Christ to bind Satan, Villa enjoy spell of pressure. Satan released, but Villa equalise against the run of play (Agbonlahor).
Resurrection of the wicked for final Judgement. Villa win corner, Collins nods in at far post. New heavens and new earth. Gloating
-
Yes.
-
Now that we have bored our way to relative safety I reckon AM will take the shackles off and let em run wild :P
1-1
-
Bolton are gash, we're safe and can relax, hopefully Gardner and Weimann will get a good run out, 2-0 Albrighton and Weimann, Bolton are gash.
-
I would love see a 4-0.
-

I hear William Hill are giving good odds on that.
-
1-1 for me, Wiemann and Reo Coker!
-
Collins 39, Albrighton 45. Davies 42, Knight 50.

Plausible until the bit about Collins. His head is the anti-goal.
-
5-0
Nzog
Ireland
Petrov
Weimann 2
-
Win... then Europe here we come.
-
2-0 nil win.
-
...N'Zogbia lashes a 30 yard free kick into the top corner in the last ten minutes.
He did that often enough for Wigan but doesn't take them often enough for us.
-
2-0, N'Zogbia and Gabby. Come on Villa.
-
0-0
-
Reasonable 1-0 win. First half goal from CNZ or Ireland. Gardner to do well in the last 30 mins
-
1-1 Gabby.
-
I'm not being negative for negative sake but I think we'll lose this 2-0, 2-1. We haven't put two decent performances together this season and I'm not sure we'll cope with a team playing for their lives. We'll bottle it and lose.
-
Us 4 Them 0.
-
Business as usual. 1-1.
-
First time I've predicted a win in a long time...so let it be.
-

All quite realistic, until you mentioned Collins scoring.
-
4-0 Bolton are taking a tonking.
-
A suprisingly swashbuckling 3-1 with Errol Flynn scoring our third after neat interplay with Johnny Depp and Oliver Reed (who gets sent off for urinating in a Bolton dugout seat and smoking a tab).
-
If we score first, and early, I see a relatively easy game for us, until we fuck up at the back (Warnock!) and make it the usual nervy ending.
2-1 Villa. (Gabby 42, N'Zogbia 65, some fecker for them from a set piece 79)
-
Give Weimann a start and let him show us how good he is. You never know we might not need to swap Bent for Torres.
2-0 to us with Sir Doug coming on and scoring the winner with one of his trademark 30 yard bicycle kicks.
-
2-1 to us. Weinmann and Albrighton for Villa, some non-entity for them!
-
First game for ages I've forecast a win, so probably the kiss of death.
Just hope some of the youngsters get a longer spell on the pitch now we're virtually safe.
-
11 points clear of safety. Season over for us now. Another well thought out and superbly executed tactical masterplan from McNugget will see us win 1-1
-
Villa 1 Bolton 1
Ireland for us on 55, Ngog for them on 87, probably from a corner.
-
pressures off.
3 - 0 win
-
Not looking over our shoulders any more, so less tension in the team and the crowd will see us producing some decent football. I'd go with same starting line-up as against Fulham, and bring Weimann on later on. Nice relaxed 3-1 win
-
I think the celebration against Fulham indicated that the pressure was finally lifted. I think they will go into this game looking to really get us fans back behind them solidly. I think it could be a comprehensive win, by our standards, 2-0.
Gabby 22, N'Zogbia 55.
-
4-0 Villa trouncing.
Villa are poor, but..........
Bolton are terrible.
-
We'll score early on (16min) and then sit deeper and deeper and eventually Bolton will score one (82min). However, Bolton are fortunately so shit they will then go and leak one at the death (89min)
2-1 Villa win.
-
Weimann to start and Gabby on the bench please.
-
Would also like to see Andy start. Not sure if I'd drop Gabby though.
-
2-1 to us. Weinmann and Albrighton for Villa, some non-entity for them!
I also have a sneaking suspicion Reo-Coker might score for them
-
1-0 to us. I'm hoping it's not a repeat of the next game after one of the best results of the season syndrome, ie, the joy of beating Chelski then losing to Swansea.
We can't make the Bolton game due to combined work commitments. The first person I offered our tickets to accepted them. Initially surprised, but then pleased they were as keen to see Villa play Bolton as one of the so called top clubs.
-
3-0. pressures off at home. mebbe a bit optimistic but a win anyway.
-

Christ! You know you're having a bad season when beating Fulham at home is one of your best results of the season!
-
Would also like to see Andy start. Not sure if I'd drop Gabby though.
It's good to have an Andy. When was the last one...Gray, Townsend? Who knows how far we would have got with Hinchcliffe and Sinton being our backbone.
-
Would also like to see Andy start. Not sure if I'd drop Gabby though.
It's good to have an Andy.
And I fancy Teddy and LoobyLou in as twin strikers.
-
3 points please.
Don't care how.
-
An easy 2-0 win against a poor Bolton team tired after their exertions in the cup at Spurs.
-
Would also like to see Andy start. Not sure if I'd drop Gabby though.
Villa's preferred formation is with a lone striker. Weimann's the man in form, so I say he plays and Gabby sits.
I've always thought that Gabby's best position is as an impact substitute rather than as a starter.

I agree Andy should get a go, but I have to question your comment about Gabby. When has he ever come on as an impact sub and made a difference?
-
Have to be careful of their new Japanese winger Miyaichi, supposed to be a real handful.
Read an interview about him, bizarrely revealing, apparently when he was younger he was a boxer but had to give it up as he ended up 'punch drunk.'
Also, for some reason, mentioned that his Father is incontinent!
-
I'm going to this one, first one in quite a while, so 3-0. Weimann starts and impresses with first two goals. Gabby late on with a third.
-
Draw
-
Us 3 - 2 Them
Weinmann, Ireland & Petrov for us.
Michael Bolton for them.
-
We have to win, I've chosen Villa in the last man standing comp at work. I have a tenner riding on it!!
-
Why was this moved?
edit: Ah, Bolton's FA Cup involvement.
-
1-0 to us. I'm hoping it's not a repeat of the next game after one of the best results of the season syndrome, ie, the joy of beating Chelski then losing to Swansea.
Christ! You know you're having a bad season when beating Fulham at home is one of your best results of the season!
Didn't really mean it was one of the best results per se, more the shock of actually winning, and the way in which we won. Or something along those lines.
-
I don't think we'll lose again this season, hows that.
-

Barking mad
Well, you did ask........
-
Home win. 2-0.
-
Weimann has made things a little bit exciting among us fans and i think Mcleish should take advantage of the "buzz" which is around at the moment. Start with Wiemann and gabby up front ( we are at home ) and go for it !!! Villa 2 Bolton 0 Wiemann - Gabby ........
-
I can't remember the last time I came on here and posted something positive in the pre-match threads. However, I think we could win this one comfortably. Probably only by a goal or two but in control of the game.
2-1 win.
-
DON'T revert to type McLeish.
Bolton are a poor team, so let's go all out for the win.

It'd be great for Weimann to start, we all saw how Gabby struggled alone uptop. 2 up front and get at them right from the start would be nice, will it happen? I don't know.
-
Us 3 - 2 Them
Weinmann, Ireland & Petrov for us.
Michael Bolton for them.
You must be having a laugh ?!
Do you really think we are capable of scoring 3 goals....and Bolton 2 ?
2-1 to us
Wieman 1-0
Bolton 1-1
Gabby or Petrov 2-1 ;D
-
2-1 to us.
Ireland and Gabby for us.
They score with 5 minutes to go.
-
I have a funny feeling we might pan them by 3 or 4.
-
I have a funny feeling we might pan them by 3 or 4.
That's my feeling too. We've played well the last two weeks without any final product. At some point that's got to come good you would think. Bolton will likely lose this weekend in the cup and we'll have a little more rest to take advantage of them physically and mentally.
Off course I am mentally prepared for a let down. Like backing red and black on a roulette table.
-
Watching Bolton v Tottenham. Reo Coker probably best player of the first half abd Bolton playing some good football. This is going to be a tough game. .......
-
There is a serious problem with Fabrice Muamba.
God bless him.
-

God bless him.
Absolutely. Bonechilling to see the footage.
-
Game should be cancelled whatever happens after today
-
apparently he is stable
-
watching what happened to Muamba this evening puts everything into perspective - doesn't look good for the lad
-
Just noticed that J Loyd Samuel has left Bolton to play in Tehran.
-
Game should be cancelled whatever happens after today
Is the correct thing to do. Sport is about a fair contest - we shouldn't be playing a team who have been so collectively traumatised by last night's event, no matter how that might be to our advantage.
-
Game should be cancelled whatever happens after today
I think that you're right. The only definite outcome that could occur before Tuesday would involve very bad news. At the best, the situation is going to still be very uncertain.

Absolutely.
-
Agree with all. The game should be postponed immediately.
-
I expect we'll hear something tomorrow morning when all the admin people are back at work. I want to beat them but not like this.
-
Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Tuesday evening's Barclays Premier League fixture has been postponed, following talks with Aston Villa and the Premier League.
The Club would like to thank Aston Villa and the Premier League for their kind support and understanding at this time.
A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.
-
Good that's completely the right decision.
-
TalkSport are reporting that, due to obvious reasons relating to Fabrice Muamba, the game on Tuesday has been postponed.
Good shout in my opinion.
-
It's just been confirmed as postponed.
Is that on the BBC?
-
Correct decision, not at all appropriate to play that game at the moment.

Absolutely. The game at Swansea should not have gone ahead either - maybe some lessons were learned from that.
-
The decision will have to be made as soon as possible, which would logistically be this afternoon. It should, and almost certainly will, be up to the Bolton players whether they want the game to go ahead and I can't see them deciding to play while he's still unconscious and critical.
-
Can't argue with that decision.
-
Well done both clubs.
-
Definitely the right decision.
-
Right decision.

Correct decision. Hope he pulls through.
Any idea when it'll be moved to?

Very good statement.
-
Good decision, good comments from Eck, and it means Bolton + players won't be distracted and fans of both clubs won't be inconvenienced by anno being dragged out.
-
Correct decision. Hope he pulls through.
Any idea when it'll be moved to?
The next couple of midweeks are tied up with their re-arranged cup tie and possible replay, then it's Easter. My guess is 17/18 April.
-
The correct decision and thoughts are with Muamba and his family. On the relatively unimportant selfish matter of Villa, though, that looks like us being stuck on 33 points until after the next 3 matches: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool.

I think we will be on 35 LDD
-
The only call to make, god knows what the Bolton squad and management must be going through right now.
-
Good that's completely the right decision.
Absolutely. The game at Swansea should not have gone ahead either - maybe some lessons were learned from that.
Assuming that you're talking about the game on the day of Gary Speed's death, its apples-and-oranges. On that occasion peoples were already at the ground for a game that did not have any direct connection to the person who died. Therefore I think it was correct for that game to go ahead, just as I think its correct that Tuesday's game doesn't.
-
The game at Swansea also had less direct connection with Gary Speed.
-
I understand the line of thought re Swansea, but think last night was totally different from other occasions because of the sheer immediacy of it.
I think that when 35,000 people spend ten minutes watching a young man getting administered CPR and having a defibrillator used on him, clearly, none of the fans or spectators or players are going to want to play the rest of the game.
If you then take that further a bit, Bolton players have watched one of their workmates fighting for his life. The last thing they're going to want to do now is train for, and play in, a game in three days time.
Swansea, I could have understoof if they'd called it off, but last night was a totally different kettle of fish altogether, I think.
-
Correct decision for me.
There are plenty of free weeks in April when this game can be played. Hopefully everything will be relatively o.k by then.
-
Totally correct decision!
-
good decision,hope he comes through!
-
Quite right to postpone this - let's hope the lad pulls through
-
Good decision, I just hope he pulls through.
-
The right decision.
At the moment, the Bolton players and staff must be feeling shell shocked.
This game would have been the last thing on their minds.
-
three tough games coming up arsenal chealsea liverpool all on form team i hope we can at least get 1 point.
-
To be honest, I'd be happy with two points from the next three games
-
I think we need 3 now we are missng the Bolton game.
Any advance on 3?
-
I reckon we'll win at least one of them.
-
Few points really, 1st being, only the very best for the player himself and football aside (which is of no importance) hope he makes a full recovery and gets on with the rest of his life, obviously nobody wants to see him cheated out of the rest of his career, which it kinda feels like if he can't continue, but the important things his is health.
2nd, how on earth did they not pick up on something which is clearly so critical happening in his body when he's looked at continually.
3rd, Have to say this, the postpone I don't think has done us any favour's, I think a win against Bolton would have set us up against what is going to be a tough period of games and I wouldn't want to have to meet Bolton later depending on a win for our survival, so IMO, would have preferred to have got the game out the way and won.
