Just saw this week's Premier League World show and it contained a focus on Alan Wright. His fondness for the Villa is in no doubt after watching this.

Glad he's happy and still involved in the game.

Excellent! I used to love Wrighty and that team was one of my favourites from down the years
-
I can recall some mascots almost being the same size as Wrighty! He was a great servant to the club and a good solid LB, a Mr Dependable type player.
-
Thanks for posting, I enjoyed that!

Me too.

Enjoyed that very much. Great find. There's a brief shot of Neil Warnock on the bench at Sheffield United. Is that who I think it is behind him and to the right?
-
Thanks for posting, I enjoyed that!
Me too.
And me, I thought he was a cracking player for us.
-
I used to love Wrighty when he played for us. Never understood why he was club scapegoat so much of the time.
Must be something to do with being a full back down VP, nearly all of them seem to cop it.

He wouldn't be a scapegoat now. Automatic man of the match.

Great find.
Cracking player, good technique, tonnes of stamina and aways gave his all. Glad to see him happy and still involved in the game.

He was excellent for us. It was clear from that clip how much it hurt him when he had to leave Villa Park.
-
Agreed, great clip. Nice little pad that as well.
-
I would say that his Boxer was a beautiful big girl but when stood next to Wrighty it's hard to tell! Her beauty isn't called into question but she may only be the size of a Yorkshire Terrier.
-
I saw it too and it was great, I couldn't believe he spent 9 years at Villa, he scored some great goals too!
-
He gave himself an extra year in the interview, he was with us '95-'03. I also learned from wiki that he is third place in Villa European appearances only behind Sid and Mortimer.
Interesting to hear his story about being messed around by McLeish at Rangers. Must give him a bit of satisfaction looking at the fullbacks big 'Eck plays these days.
-
Wow that is some record... 3rd in Villa's European appearances, good man!
-
that was brilliant, thanks for posting it.
Alan Wright is my 23 year old sons all time favourite player, although he's being pushed hard now by Petrov.
as you can imagine he doesnt go for the obvious
-
I doubt I will ever find myself in Middlesbrough on New Years Day again but that belter from Wrighty and the conga that followed is one of my best memories away from VP. God bless him, one of the fittest and most committed players I've seen in a Villa shirt lets hope he makes it as a coach and joins Dion Dublins backroom staff in a few years.
-
Alan Wright and Mick Wright two superb full backs for the club.
-
Thanks for posting that. I thought little Alan Wright was great.
