I have not been on for about a year or more and was wondering where Krulak has gone as I cannot see his threads?
-
He's resigned as a Villa director due to other business commitments.
-
I believe he is still represented on here.
-
I believe he is still represented on here.
Does his son come on, Pelty ?
I can't recall his posts lately.

Yes Pelty has posted fairly recently
-
He does Tweet and was over for the QPR game I believe.

Amazingly timed just as the brickbats were flying just after the appointment of McLeish.
I shall miss pronouncements like
'Try saying that to my face'
'We'll finish 4th, er...I mean 5th, my hand slipped on the keyboard.'
'Imagine what McLeish will do with the backing we will give him.'

Pravda need to update its website, the Gen's still there as an NED...
-
You have to say, that the manner and time of his departure makes it very hard to disagree that Fletch has a point.
He hasn't resigned as a director, either.

Yes Fletch, the scary thing is he still probably knew more about "soccer" and PR than Lerner and Faulkner combined.

I stand corrected, if that's the case. I did read somewhere that he was no longer a director.

So the AVFC Website master is Scottish?

The ghost of Quentin Crisp knows more about football and PR than those pair.

Hi
You might want to check the rules about posting with multiple logins.
What's wrong with your usual one?

He may have resigned, or not, but he said he was a fan.
Why doesn't he post any longer?
-
i always liked the General, and still do, i dont feel let down by him at all.
maybe events did overtake him a bit, but he had a go and got involved with us for a while and thats not something many if any other directors have ever done at our club or any other.
he remains a top bloke in my opinion

Because presumably he doesn't have time.

TRST?

The General is busy working on a prototype of the non-slip computer keyboard in Silicon Valley.

I wonder what be could be doing then?
I am sure he used to enjoy it on here.

He's running a college in the USA.

I agree, except he could and should have explained he was no longer coming on to the forums.
It just seemed like bad manners.

I agree with both. One final word from him could have prevented a lot of ill-feeling and accusation. But although it had run its course his posts
must have been unique in the Premier League.

The General became president of a college in Birmingham, AL called (appropriately enough) Birmingham-Southern College. The previous president left the school's finances in an extremely precarious state and it takes all of the General's time just to manage this issue. This is no exaggeration as he has to travel to many different places, often 8-10 hour round trips by car, to speak to alumni groups and prospective students to encourage the former to give and the latter to attend. He enjoys it a great deal, but his time has become quite limited.
The timing of his departure had everything to do with this issue (he began his duties on 01 JUN 11), but it would also be fair to note that there was a certain recognition that the conversation had reached a point where it had become, from his perspective (and he was not alone, I daresay), comparatively unproductive and not the best use of his time given the exigencies of his current position. He is still on the board (as far as I know; I have not asked and he has not told me otherwise), pays extremely close attention to the Villa, and talks with Randy frequently.
He also has me bitching in his ear on a weekly basis, but that is a different matter altogether... :-)
-
by the way Pelty, your alright at the moment,
Risso's gone missing

According to his official Twitter account he's definitely a "former" Villa director.
-
Ha, no worries. Risso and I handled our differences and all is well.

I knew I'd read it somewhere.

That's more than fair enough Pelty, although it would have only taken a couple of minutes to do 1 last "So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish" type post.
I'm sure if the mods from this site decided it was time for the General to stop posting he'd have preferred a quick note rather than, for example, suddenly realising he had been banned/blocked from the site or whatever without a word.

He needs to have a word with someone, then, as according to Companies House, he still is (and the villa web site, too).
-
Is he still a NED? If he is, is he still taking a salary? I'd be genuinely interested to know, considering we are cutting costs.
-
The General is still a director at Aston Villa Limited.
Unless the company have failed to declare his resignation.
I'd trust Companies House documents more than a twitter description.
-
They probably didn't bother to change the details at Companies House.

That's pretty naughty then, and means he's still a director when, possibly, he doesn't think he is.

He has never been paid.

Perhaps I have made an assumption there then

Excuse my ignorance as I have been away from this site for a fair amount of time, but are you in contact with Mr Krulak?

He's his son.
-
Perhaps he's still officially a director, but he's put 'former' on his twitter account because he's not doing much directing. We've had a few like that over the years.
-
He's still listed in programme as non executive director but i thought he had relinquished all links to concentrate on USA projects
-
It sure as hell is a strange way to run a football club.

Even compared to the one in Small Heath ??

Our directors box must be a lonely place on match days...at least Sir Doug still comes!

It's just taking him a very long time to count all this money on McLeish's desk at the moment for new players in the summer .
As he said Imagine what AMC could do with money . Its just that these money bags filled with pennies take a long time to count to be fair.

"Hi. Alex? It's Randy. I'm running a bit late for the meeting, just trying to find a supermarket with a Coinstar machine to sort out an exact figure"
-

I think he was referring to how Alex could spend his salary.

FWIW, that Twitter account is not his...

You telling me not everything I read on Twitter's not true?
*cries*
And by the way, all the very best to your Dad. A real gent.
-
In all seriousness Pelty - how is the old fellow doing? I had my disagreements on a lot of things with him but for better or worse - its never been quite the same since GK and Peter W left.
-
For what it's worth Pelty, pass my regards on too.
I always like to think the club is listening and cares about the supporters and The General probably did that better than anyone I can remember.
-
This is the real one, isn't it?

I certainly hope nobody was thick enough to think for a nanosecond that this one was genuine:

This.
-
It was a rare experience having direct contact with the club; and the General seemed to have the right character to deal with it. Was it 3-4 years he was posting for? I agree with Pelty that it seemed to have run its course, imagine if he was still posting now with all the grief he would get.
Pelty, tell your Dad that we are Brummies and it is in our genes to moan and complain... just like its in the scousers genes to steal, but many of us are grateful for his contribution.

Hey calm down lad - I had my car knicked three times when I lived in Brum, so don`t tell me Brummies aren`t thievin gits as well :) - By the way, Scousers moan as much as Brummies but its at a higher pitch.
-
Thanks and I will pass on everyone's good wishes to him! I know for a fact that he misses the banter, but not the moans, I imagine! :-)
-
It doesn't give the exact day, but according to that Companies House site the General will be 70 next month.
Many happy returns to the old bugger, please pass on my best wishes.
