Fantastic. What a night!
-
fantastic. Obviously great run and finish by Price, and brilliant piece of play by Cascarino. However, for those who never watched God play, watch the control and direction in his clearance after receiving a tricky ball in the area. He did this all the time, the antithesis of hoof.

A carload of us went down to Highbury that night and I always remember Price missing a chance shortly before that goal prompting our mate who had driven to say "Chris Price will never score as long as he's got a hole in his arse". That quote was thrown back at him all the way home and for quite a while after too.

Great break and lovely set up from Cas.

I agree with you Warsza.

Few goals have been celebrated with the same vigorous joy as that one.
Fantastic work from that big useless lump Cascarino as well. The timing an execution of the pass to a player he couldn't even see was Barcelona-esque.
-
I never get tired of watching that!
-
Cascarino doing a passable impression of a professional footballer there

Love it.

havent watched the link but the game was live on ITV and the goal had a truly excellent bit of build up by Brian Moore.
(following McGrath clearance with instep of boot) "Cascarino the only one up there in a Villa shirt though. He's getting support from Platt - this could be interesting. PRICE HAS GONE THROUGH FOR VILLA! A GREAT CHANCE FOR VILLLAAA! Chris Price has done it on the breakaway!"
;) off the dome.

I adopted Chris Price as my favourite ever player as he was on the first cover of the programme of the first game I went to, when he scored that I think I cried and couldn't run down the stairs quick enough to jump on the old man.
-
I remember watching that on tv at my mom and dads. We leapt off the sofa when that went in. That shot hit a huge divot on the way in.
-
Absolutely brilliant, from the controlled clearance by 'Our Lord', the control by Cascarino and the finish from Chrissy Price. What a goal.
-
My first ever trip to Highbury, I got the afternoon off from my YTS course to go to that game. What a night, I remember the chant "Hand it over Arsenal!". I didnt even mind the mad traffic jam on the way home on the M1 although we saw the Liverpool team coach on their way back from Crystal Palace who were our championship rivals, and 'on-loan' Ronny Rosenthal scored a hatrick.

Perry Groves' shorts - <shudder>

I was there that night and vividly remember Cas getting the ball and me wondering what the fuck he was doing, thinking that it would probably end up as a draw now. And then that?! Awesome!
