Available Sunday afternoon.
-
Given, Hutton, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Petrov, Gardner, Heskey, Albrighton, Keane, Bent.
I'm off to the pub.
-
See I'm happy that Gardner starts, but Heskey instead of Ireland is fucking mental.
-
Any links, anyone?
-
Oh and at least Warnock is dropped.
-
Aston Villa FC - Official
Villa v Man City: Given, Hutton, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Petrov, Gardner, Heskey, Albrighton, Keane, Bent. Subs: Guzan, Ireland, Warnock, Bannan, Baker, Weimann, N’Zogbia.
Man City v Villa: Hart, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Kolarov, De Jong, Barry, Milner, Silva, Johnson, Aguero. Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Clichy, Savic, Nasri, Pizarro, Dzeko.
-
The only positive about Heskey starting is he can't be brought on as a sub.
-
Heskey! Will he never learn? I fear a tonking I'm afraid (and on bloody TV as well).
-
Thanks Barneboy for getting the side up on both threads.
Heskey for Ireland in a midfield with Petrov and Gardner? Fuck me. It is beyond a joke.
No Herd, Clark. Worrying afternoon ahead.
5-1 to them.
-
Terrible decision starting Heskey, I don't think he's learned from Tottenham, Liverpool or Man Utd.
-
Is Clark injured?
-
Leaving out one of our best performers over the past couple of months to bring in tumbling fucking bear. Great.
-
Who's left back??? Hutton or one of the CBs? Worrying either way.
-
One thing I will say is that if today goes badly, the presence of Heskey from the start is going to make the backlash even worse.
-
Oh FFS.
I am in disbelief that Heskey is starting.
It's gonna be hard enough with 11 men but with 10 it's going to be a slaughtering.
-
Who's left back??? Hutton or one of the CBs? Worrying either way.
Cuellar.
-
It's good to see Gardner starting, but Heskey instead of Ireland? And I see Collins made it back comfortably. Didn't McLeish say Baker could play left back? Back to hoof again.
Here's a scary fact - If we lose today (which I'm afraid we will with this lineup) we'll be 7 points away from Norwich and 7 points away from the relegation zone. You're doing a good job McLeish. ???
-
It is a completely idiotic decision; steps in the right direction right up until the first sub against Newcastle last week. Since which mad decisions have become the norm it would appear. Complete and total insanity. He deserves all the chants of you don't know what your doing if we are tonked today, especially after not getting a midfield player into the club in January when we had lost Jenas etc.
-
Seeing that team i fear a drubbing.
-
Oh dear god! What a shit team. McLeish hasn't got a bloody clue! Heskey starting again! Why? What reason? What does he offer? I just cannot give any backing to this clueless idiot, when he makes decisions like that.
Who plays left back? Hutton or Cueller? Either way, not good. Hutton can barely keep himself in position at right back. Carlos played left back under O Neill for a couple of games and was woeful.
We'll get pillocked right royally I'm afraid lads. We should be playing 3 across the middle. We need an extra bad in there because it's too much pressure on an aging Stan and an inexperienced GG.
McLeish out! Is that his way of getting back at the protestors? If so, good job because it's pissing annoying mate! Bring back O Leary! Yeah I said it!
-
I just am staggered he's picked Heskey, I genuinely can't fathom it.
-
If he's set us up to lose by as few as possible like he did earlier in the season he should just go. We should be going for it with our most creative players N'Zog and Ireland.
-
Well obviously is a problem with Ireland and Nzog as both on bench..Heskey in is a shock as is Cuellar at Lb...
-
I suspect McLeish values Heskey more than the fans do. I fear a contract extension in the summer.
-
We deserve to lose by that lineup. It's anti-football. You don't start old man Heskey out of position over Ireland or N'Zogbia. Basically what McLeish is doing is he's putting his own personal problems before the club.
-
I can only think he's trying to confuse Man City by picking the strangest team he could think of. At 6pm he will either be a genius or a step closer to being declared insane!
-
I have come to the conclusion that Heskey must have it written into his contract that if fit he must be in the side. Can not be any other reason how he is selected .
-
You never know, it might work!
I'm going to wait until quarter to six before making a judgement on it being a mistake but I think that it is a somewhat strange selection.
-
I have nothing personally against Heskey, but I've said before, I'll be glad when we as fans never have to discuss him again because he's no longer part of our club. I was scared that he'd be part of the line up today, mostly because it makes us play a certain way. It's going to be hard enough today and even more so if we just launch the ball up to Heskey all game. You give the ball to Man City they'll kill you. We give the ball away too much without Heskey and even more afraid of that today.
-

What a ridiculous post. Man City are a big, physical side and he's in there to try to counter that. We improved last week when he came on.
-
McLeish really doesn't do himself any favours. If today goes badly he will have mad such a target of himself. Just when we don't need this kind of crap.
-
I don't mind Gardner starting, but in that lineup it will be a miracle if he can shine. Horrible situation to be brought in to.
-
It is a horrible line up though. Our lack of central midfield options is mind boggling.
-
At least with Zog and Ireland on the bench we have a couple of potential game changers. Makes a nice change...
-
Heskey is the least physical big man I've ever seen.
Honestly, if we feel the need to field a non-scoring striker in midfield, then we really are a bit of a mess.
-

I guess that's true.
-
Our two most creative players on the bench; a horrible, unbalanced back four and Heskey included where - left midfield? The kind of selection from McLeish that I've come to fear and which makes me question, again, his understanding of the game.
We've taken two big steps back today, in my opinion. Could be an 'interesting' afternoon.
-
The only way to counter the top teams is to close space and try to keep the ball, if we had another midfielder instead of Heskey it might work, madness
-

N'Zogbia has physical attributes and got an assist in the Newcastle game. Before that he got a goal against QPR. Are you saying Heskey is better option than N'Zogbia in midfield? ;D
-

Yep totally agree, also at Newcastle we were at our best in the first half with the creative players on the field.
-
If we're talking about Heskey inproving us at Newcastle, we were best in the first half - he didn't come on till 25 odd minutes to go.
-

Ha great minds!
-
I just am staggered he's picked Heskey, I genuinely can't fathom it.
The plain facts are; that Heskey does as he's told. Ireland and N'zog do not. They were both faulted by McLeish for not tackling back and shutting down the flanks to prevent crosses from coming into the box. Then told the manager to f@ck off.
Both were substituted so it's no surprise to me that they now find themselves on the bench.

How exactly is Emile Bastard Heskey going to counter Man City's physical style of play? Is he going to aggressively fall over in their general direction?
When was the last time he contributed anything at all?
-
Mind you, McLeish has clearly got big balls.
15th in the league going into this match, not won at home since bonfire night, and he's shaping up with a Tottenham away style line up. He must really believe in what he's doing to be risking that.
-
The only positive about Heskey starting is he can't be brought on as a sub.
And he can be taken off.
-
He's only picked Heskey to help to defend set pieces. He'll offer nothing on the left, and we'll end up hoofing it,how fcuking grim. Least the protest seemed like a joke,80 to 100 people Kendrick just sad.
-
Awful mind boggling team selection Any hope I've hadti get anything out of this game has evaporated
**opens bottle of wine*
-
Dwight Yorke, 'Villa is a tough place to come'. No it's not Dwight, it's one of the easiest places to come in the league sadly.
-
Dwight Yorke, 'Villa is a tough place to come'. No it's not Dwight, it's one of the easiest places to come in the league sadly.
My thoughts exactly.
-
Dwight Yorke, 'Villa is a tough place to come'. No it's not Dwight, it's one of the easiest places to come in the league sadly.
It's a tough place to come to for us.
-
If we're talking about Heskey inproving us at Newcastle, we were best in the first half - he didn't come on till 25 odd minutes to go.
For the 20 minutes before we'd hardly had a kick after they stepped it up after half time.
-
Very low crowd again.
-
I'm not sure who is more mad, McLeish for that line up or me for spending the next two hours watching it.
-

Very true, I was thinking the same. I will be so happy when Heskey is no longer on the books.
-
TBH, the back four selection is more perplexing than Heskey's inclusion.
-
Bet you Barry and Milner not to mention Silva fancy coming up against that midfield of ours.
-
Shay 'we're all in this together'
Is he talking about our penalty box?
-
How much longer is Gabby out for?
-
TBH, the back four selection is more perplexing than Heskey's inclusion
... and very little on the bench cover the back four as well, with only Baker (oh, and Warnock).
-

I agree this reminds me of the spurs line up. Maybe not quite so uncultured, but I'd be surprised if we manage 5 consecutive passes in the first half except for around the back 4 and then back to the keeper to hoof it.
I can't believe Ireland isn't starting

I know, but my point is that while you could suggest that he did stem things to a certain extent, we were most threatening without him on the pitch.
There's no point just trying to stop Man City, we're going to have to have a go at them, and I can't see how Heskey anywhere on the pitch, let alone in midfield, is going to do that.
McLeish will get a lot more support if he's prepared to do that, and we did for a while, but he is now sloping back to bad habits.
Bewildering.
-
Shay 'we're all in this together'
Is he talking about our penalty box?
I assumed he meant austerity budgets.....ha.
-
Blimey interesting line-up GULP,.
Any live feeds please?
-
I feel sick
-
I do not believe that line-up.
Heskey is in there to defend set pieces? So the manager believes Mancity's biggest threat will come from corners?
I think I liked the line-up against Tottenham more.
-
I feel sick
Me too

Any links?
-
Come on then Villa.
-
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/107325/1/watch-aston-villa-vs-manchester-city.html
Much obliged, captain.
-
Heskey on the pitch. Seriously fuck off AM. You deserve all the stick you get.
-
Gary Neville is right, the amount of good players we have we should be nowhere near as low as we are.
-
Last time I felt like this about a game we got the 2-2 against Manure...
-
Terrible clearing header from Collins.
-
Come on villa
-
Is it just me or are the kits quite hard to tell apart?
-
Is it just me or are the kits quite hard to tell apart?
Very much so.
-
Flaky start generally.
-
I see Craig's at the game. I would money on him making a return in the summer.
-
Is it just me or are the kits quite hard to tell apart?
Very much so.
I agree. Dont know why City are in white shorts.
-
Is it just me or are the kits quite hard to tell apart?
Very much so.
Indeed. There was me thinking we looked good attacking the Holte.
-
I see Craig's at the game. I would money on him making a return in the summer.
Me too. I also wouldn't be at all bothered, I rate him.
-
Don't really understand heskey on the right and alby left?
-
I see Craig's at the game. I would money on him making a return in the summer.
And leave Sunderland, his boyhood club? ;)
-

Me too. I also wouldn't be at all bothered, I rate him.
I agree. He's better than he's given credit for and would be a solid rotation type player. He's played well for the traitor since he arrived and scored a couple of good goals.
-
What news from the protesters?! - Sky mentioned around 100 people.
-
Afternoon chaps
-
Neither side have started well
-
26% possession
-
I'm actually happy that despite giving the ball away for 9 minutes it's still all square.
-
I just can't listen to Martin Tyler without thinking I'm playing FIFA 11 / 12 these days.
-
Who is the fucking twat commenting on sky ?
-
What the fuck, Petrov..
-
10 minutes and we haven't let in a goal. McLeish in.
-
We're giving them far too much space and time on the ball.
-
We need much more energy.
-
I see Craig's at the game. I would money on him making a return in the summer.
id have him on than Heskey
-
Bit dull so far, isn't it?
-
Heskey on the wing makes me so fucking annoyed.
-
Lol Keane. :D
-
Heskey at right-mid = Useless manager. Sorry Alex, but every time you play Ivanhoe out of position, I hate you a little bit more.
-
Why do these summarisers always speak such utter shit? AM hasn't done anything wrong? Has he seen the league table? Also when will they realise that we ain't that bothered where AM came from as much as we are bothered about him being a shit manager?
-
Gardner looking assured.
-
Cueller does not look comfortable over there but at least we're nil nil.
-
I really like everything that I've seen of Gary Gardner.
-
Bit dull so far, isn't it?
So dull I've taken to updating my LinkedIn profile purely to have something to hold the attention.
-
Heskey on the wing makes me so fucking annoyed.
Heskey on the pitch makes me mad.
-
Heskey on the wing makes me so fucking annoyed.
I get annoyed with Ireland on the wing but Heskey ..arrgghh!!!
-
Ireland on the wing at least still has the ability and vision to do something. Heskey has the power of tumbling.
-
I'd like to get to a point where we no longer play counter attack at VP. Oh for the days of Big Ron when we used to really have a go at teams at home.
-
Despite several opportunities, Heskey has has remained un-floored for 15 minutes. So far, so good.
-
Any idea how the protest went? Not good I bet.
-
Dunne, do us proud
-
So far on 5Live, Alan Green has managed to slag off Heskey, Bent, The Villa fans, McLeish, Our creative talent, and the weather. And we're only 16 minutes in.
-
We look like a team who isn't even going to get a shot on target, nevermind score. And we're at home.
-
I'd like to get to a point where we no longer play counter attack at VP. Oh for the days of Big Ron when we used to really have a go at teams at home.
The stupid thing is, we had a go at Arsenal, and despite losing - incredibly unjustly - we rightly got applauded off the pitch.
It's all very well for people (and the media) to bang on about how he used to manage Blues / we shouldn't boo yada yada yada, but the fact is, if we have a go at people when we can, he'll get people behind him.
-

What did you expect? he really is an obnoxious cock, the very tip of a penis.

Yep.
-
Atmosphere is dead!
-
Sky are blaming our fans for our poor form.
-
Any idea how the protest went? Not good I bet.
From the SkySports score centre text feed:
"the mcleish protest turned into a low-key affair, attended by no more than 100 fans. There were a few banners such as "Had your chance McLeish Out", and a few chants among the lines of "You'll be sacked in the morning", but it was ultimately more for amusement value of other Villa fans looking on."
So, it turned out exactly as we all expected.
-
Sky are blaming our fans for our poor form.
who is it that's spouting such shite?

As much as his comments are angering me, it's worrying how much he sounds like a member of our own fan base with those comments.
-
Sky are blaming our fans for our poor form.
Not the way I heard it.
-
Atmosphere is flatter than a witches tit.
-
So deflated are the crowd that they can't even be arsed to boo Gareth Barry.
-

Embarrassing for those involved I suppose, mind you if we get hammered here today they will wandering round looking for people to say 'I told you so' to.
-
Sports reporters only ever talk to other sports reporters. They have no idea what real people actually think.
-
Too right, Sky, the kits fucking are difficult to distinguish between
although that might be feed quality. oops.
-
Mind you, if you just think "with ball = Man City", "running around without ball = us" you're ok.
-
So deflated are the crowd that they can't even be arsed to boo Gareth Barry.
Hodge might make a comeback..
-

It's Gary Neville isn't it, what do you expect of that utter twat?...
-
Terrible game so far. I guess that plays in our favour. No cohesion to the midfield as was pretty predictable from the line up. Bored
-
So far, well, it's as could be expected when we play perhaps the best side in the league while not selecting the best team we possibly can from the available players.
-
Man alive, this is tedious stuff. If I was a neutral I'd have switched it off.
-
Ashley Youngs there
-
Kinda nice/surprising to see Young there.
Definitely miss him.
-
Sports reporters only ever talk to other sports reporters. They have no idea what real people actually think.
Why don't they ask people who go to the games what they really think as opposed to making up clichéd bollocks?
-
Sky are blaming our fans for our poor form.
Not the way I heard it.
'It must get to the younger players when the home fans are this quiet. Maybe that's why the away from is better'
-
So far this has been a training exercise for Man City. I'm very disappointed that given that we do have attacking players in the squad that we haven't tried to put their back line under pressure. We are simply not quick enough to player effective counter attack. This has all of the hallmarks of a depressing defeat about it. We a tempting fate with every Man City attack.
-
What's the point parking the bus if our defence is that shit?
-
Fucking wake up Villa.
-

I would expect the utter shit he is spouting.
-
We're not really trying to do anything, that's the thing. We're just kind of trundling along not hindering them in their passing. It really is like a training match.
It'll go on for a while then City will score, and that'll be that.
-
Kinda nice/surprising to see Young there.
Definitely miss him.
It was lovely. Nice to see our club means something to some of the players that have played for us.
-
Fuck me off the post.
-
Hit the post , nutmegged Petrov.
-
Fucking wake up Villa.
Ssssssh you'll wake the rest of us.
-
We've shown absolutely nothing going forward. No attacking ambition whatsoever.
-
Sky are blaming our fans for our poor form.
Not the way I heard it.
'It must get to the younger players when the home fans are this quiet. Maybe that's why the away from is better'
"It must be difficult for the young players to play when the ceowd is so quiet ... the crowd want to be entertained"
That's what I heard anyway. Same result - poor home form.
-
Man C probing, playing patiently, looking for the breaks...forcing corners...with EH in midfield we're a creative outlet down on what we could have...he's a destructive forward, nothing else...
-
Fuck me they up the tempo and now we look out on our feet.
-
I was correct then. Damage limitation. Fucking disgrace again.
-
Giving Silva soo-o-o-o much space .. frightening.
-
They ain't even out of first gear, we are fucked if we keep playing like this.
-
This is really pathetic. It's a good job city aren't playing well. This is comparable to the spurs performance at the moment albeit with at least some tacking this time
-
When the term "one way traffic" was created they had this in mind.
-
This is fucking awful Villa, we are at home for fucks sake.
-
Thank fuck Aguero has his Diadora Heskey's on.
-
We will fucking lose all the time if we offer no ambition.
-
Citeh have upped the tempo then.
-
Has Hart handled the ball yet?
-
no out ball!
-
There's no disgrace to losing to a side like Man City, or even looking second best, but to my mind it's really not on to just not try to actually win the match.
This is just the sort of thing that got him relegated at his previous club.
-
Our best bet is to hoof it up to Heskey and and and ermmmmm and er errrrrrmmmmm
-
Heskey, FFS
-
Heskey - you really are not very good.
-
To be fair our supporters are doing their best to get behind the lads.
-
It's like Rorkes Drift - and we ain't Zulus!!!
-
Heskey ballses up again...
-
Mcleish is embarasing us,everytime we are on tv we jusy sit back and roll over, this is fuckin shit!!go at them villa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
-
We have won 6 out of 24, that's relegation form.
-
Hoof, and give the ball away. What a fucking joke, Mcleish going mad but he selected a team with Heskey in the midfield.
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
Gary Neville.
Ha ha ha.
-
Giving away possession far too easily, we seem to lack core strategy and that problem lies at one door only...
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
...Do you mean Gary Neville?
-
They're scared of playing.
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
Gary Neville.
Ha ha ha.
I wouldn't say he's being biased. I'd say he's spot on that Villa need to actually do something.
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
Who he is is one of the Neville sisters, what he is is a ******.
-
Unless I'm wrong, McLeish always appears to be asking the players to keep the ball and get it forward. The fact that the players collectively don't suggests that we don't have the confidence to, can't, or most worryingly, won't.
-
Comedy defending and then Emile falls over for a cheap free kick.
-
Watching this is basically just waiting for City to score. We offer nothing. Pathetic.
-
Is Heskey playing as a second right back?
-
Unless I'm wrong, McLeish always appears to be asking the players to keep the ball and get it forward. The fact that the players collectively don't suggests that we don't have the confidence to, can't, or most worryingly, won't.
Or the formation, tactics and starting 11 are just wrong.
-
We have a manager who is turning what could be a decent team into a poor team. I really want him sacking and replacing with anyone who has an idea how to play football.
-
this is just a trainig session for city, not even braking into a swet yet
-
Depressing stuff.
-
Watching this is basically just waiting for City to score. We offer nothing. Pathetic.
I just said the same thing. Only a matter of time.
-
We are like the plucky minnows up against a premier league giant in a cup tie. Without the pluck.
Man City haven't even been that special so far. They havent needed to be.
We have zero width.
-
We have to be one of the slowest teams in the league. You cannot point to one area of the pitch where we have any speed at all.
-
Is Heskey playing as a second right back?
He is the best defensive CF in the world you know...
-
Fuck me, no tempo.
-
We sit any deeper we'll be in the holte suite
-
Petrov and gardner are being played around like traffic cones. Keane needs to drop into midfield. We look like a poor championship side
-
No pressure on the ball; no energy with the ball. He needs to get N'Zog or Ireland on at h-time, and get Emile off.
-
The worrying thing is Mcleish will be more than happy with what's happening so far
-
Soon be time for a Hobnob and a cuppa. Fuck me this is shit.
-
We look relegation fodder. Need to start picking up points, get to summer and clear the place out.
-
Cheap foul by Heskey
-
Heskey 1 goal in 29 games, well worth 65K a week...
-
The worrying thing is Mcleish will be more than happy with what's happening so far
And more worryingly, so will Randy.
Mind you, he probably doesn't know we're playing.
-
We look relegation fodder. Need to start picking up points, get to summer and clear the place out.
Starting with the Owner the Manager and the defence..
-
Heskey 1 goal in 29 games, well worth 65K a week...
He's not in the team to score goals.
(Don't ask me what he's actually there for - comedy?)
-
Cheap foul by Heskey
Not cheap at all.... I refer you to the post I made earlier...
-
Anyone think he'll change anything at half time?
-
That was better
-
Ooooh!
A corner!
-
I watched the games versus the 'noses again the other day. The one whe we spanked them 5-1. I realized that one of the biggest thing we are missing now are heroes and characters. We had Barry, Ash and Gabby, a talisman like Carew, and at the back massively influential players like Laursen and Mellberg. We have Bent now, but he's so laid back and Keane isn't ours. As fans we need heroes and we are really struggling for that right now at the club.
-
Heskey 1 goal in 29 games, well worth 65K a week...
He's not in the team to score goals.
(Don't ask me what he's actually there for - comedy?)
He is a number 10 isn't he?
-
Who's the summariser on the TV, heavily Man City biased.
Gary Neville.
Ha ha ha.
I wouldn't say he's being biased. I'd say he's spot on that Villa need to actually do something.
Sounds more like City players agent

whatever :-)
-
Ireland and CNZ for heskey and alby. 433 asking keane to do a job on the right of 3 pls
-
We have attacking options, but McLeish refuses to use them. How can Ireland still be on the bench after his recent form?
-
Anyone think he'll change anything at half time?
No, he will be pleased with this.
-
Man, this is desperate stuff. Man City have the best defense in the league and once they score it will all over. If they score and we are forced to open up just a little we'll get torched.
-
Villa have been nearly as entertaining as my electricity thread.
-
This is utterly horrible.
-
31% possession after 45 minutes, at home. Christ.
-
Have we lost yet?
-
We have attacking options, but McLeish refuses to use them. How can Ireland still be on the bench after his recent form?
Of course we have attacking options.
The fact Heskey is in midfield whilst Stephen Ireland and Charles N'Zogbia are on the bench says everything you need to know about McLeish, and if the media took the fucking blinkers off for a few moments, they might realise that that, and not his Small Heath connections, is why the guy is short of support.
-
what a perthetic ball forward by Albrighton
-
It's watching shit like this that makes me glad I can no longer afford to go.
-
Pass the fucking football albrighton. Hopeless
-
The commentary just goes:
(Man City player) plays the ball in, (Villa player) clears the ball, (Man City player) collects...repeat...
-

They won't though, it's just easy to spout bollocks.
-
What a shit half of football.
-
It's watching shit like this that makes me glad I can no longer afford to go.
Just think, if you bought about 120 season tickets, you could pay the Tumbling Bear's wages for a week.
-
Fuck me. It's like being on life support waiting to die. Death has been held up at the checkout at Tesco's and will be here as soon as he can.
-
Well, we have all the shape of a Jo Brand dress.
-
At least we're not missing Warnock.
-
Heskey is doing what he's been asked to do and isn't doing it badly. Too easy a target these days I'm afraid for people who need to stick the boot in somewhere. If you don't want him in the starting line up blame McLeish, but when he's doing ok leave the bugger alone.
They are better than us all over the park but haven't scored yet. We need to hold onto the ball more as a team and I would change the shape a bit.
-
It's watching shit like this that makes me glad I can no longer afford to go.
We will never ever progress if we take this approach at home, I don't care who we are playing. The crowd will not be able to get behind the side if they adopt this 'style'.
-
Dire.
-

Yeah, but largely, people *have* been giving McLeish stick, not Heskey.
-
I don't know what is more shocking, The performance or a clean sheet at half time
-
City look a little blunt, don't they?
Is Balotelli banned?
Mind you, I'm not sure if even being illegible would be enough to stop him scoring against us.
-
Possession BBC
Aston Villa 44%
Manchester City 56%
I'd have thought much worseŁ
-
One thing I'll give Steve Kean a lot of credit for is that he has given it a go in every game and has been given far less support by the fans than McLeish. They've scored in every away game and in my opinion don't have anything like the talent that we have on our books. This is very very hard to watch, and very, very hard to defend even if like me you a trying to give the bloke every chance possible to succeed.
-

The BBC's stats are always utter bobbins.
Even without the re-design, their online sport coverage of late has been awful. Slow as death to update their live commentary blog and constantly showing the wrong scores.
-
Positives.. we haven't conceded, and we haven't really came close to conceding.
Assuming we become a better attacking side in the second half (as we can't possibly be worse), things are looking okay.

It's more like 28/72
-
Zzzzzzzz that really was hopeless. Utterly boring and lacking in any quality whatsoever. Midfield has performed exactly as expected - but worse because petrov's distribution has been terrible. Ireland and CNZ need to come on surely? I really hate watching this team most of the time.
-
that was shite . Man ŁŁtty are playing average and still we havent got a clue and look awful.
Lets hope Ireland and Nzog come on half time and prove a point .
Ireland should have started . Heskey should have been left at home.
-
I think it will take a city goal for mcleish to change anything. Would probably look to bring Heskey on before someone points out he's already on.
-
Did I just see Ray Winstones head say "Villa to score first 150/1"
-
All season, we have adopted a strategy that does not befit a club of our stature. McLeish should have left the small club mentality at St. Andrew's
-
It's 0-0 versus the champions elect. I swear people just prefer to moan rather than support the club.
-
paulie - I agree most are aiming at McLeish but there is still the predictable anti-Heskey bashing and I don't think he deserves it today (he does sometimes!).
Anyway, thankfully it's halftime and we get more news about Suarez, Liverpool and Man Utd. Thank goodness, I was beginning to lose track of it.
-
Christ, that wasn't too inspiring.
I have no idea what the plan there was, although I suppose if it was 'don't concede' then, somehow, we've managed it. If it was more ambitious than that (and I sincerely hope it was) then it really hasn't worked at all and I really hope hope hope that McLeish will change it around at HT.
For what it's worth I think I'd be inclined to go 4-5-1, and get N'Zogbia on.
-
The stats say it all again, 2 shots against their 9. We are relying on being lucky or Man City not hitting the target to get anything out of this game. Keane will be glad to go back to LA after this.
-
It's 0-0 versus the champions elect. I swear people just prefer to moan rather than support the club.
Dante, mate, you've utterly missed the point. Most on he would be happy if we really had a go and yet lost to a top side like City 3-2. We wil likely lose 2-0 by never having got out of our half.
-

Enjoying our football?

Absolutely.
It's hard not to conclude we're playing for the draw, we'll go a goal down, and then we'll start trying to keep the score down.
-
It's embarrassing that we play in this manner at home, and I can see why we never ever win.
-
Possession is 32/68, according to Skybet.
-
I defended him over the Heskey subsitution last week but I am flabbergasted that McLeish has abandoned all the positive work of recent months coming forward and reverted to this horrible brand of football. I actually feel quite embarrassed that the world will be watching this. He wasn't kidding when he said that we would be getting "ugly" to cure the defensive woes.
The likes of Albrighton have done that much chasing back that every time they have had the ball at their feet they look completely shagged.
Oh, and how the hell can Petrov be sweating his chin off in that temperature.
-
We're about as potent as a papier-mache water cannon.
-
It's 0-0 versus the champions elect. I swear people just prefer to moan rather than support the club.
What do you mean? No shots on goal at half time as the home side? Haven't won at home since November? Lets all clap and applaud the wonderful efforts.
-
10 men behind the ball , not to concede . BORING . we are at home , give it a go FFS . He did this against 'The Mighty Reds YNWA', spurzz and Manure and didnt work .
We are not SMALL heath , we are BIG ASTON VILLA.
-

Dante it's exactly that type of thinking which lead to the 'performances' against Spurs, Liverpool and Man Utd.
-
Did I just see Ray Winstones head say "Villa to score first 150/1"
It's about 3/1 for Villa to score first on most sites. You'd be better off betting on the world to end in 2012.
-
reverted back to surrender football, lets wait until they score before we do anything-dire
-
We have been shite so far. When heskey starts we are always like this. Not his fault. Just the way it is.
-
Possession is 32/68, according to Skybet.
sounds about right.
someone tell petrov to stop going backwards. he ruins all forward momentum we create, heskeys not helping either. He hasn't shot up the wing a single time, has he even been near the corner flag yet.
What is this line up?!
-
I just worry when Keane goes where is our next win going to come from? He got us out of a sticky situation against Wolves (who are dire) and I feel as though once he goes we'll be dragged into a relegation battle.
-
Well that was a bit shit. Lucky to be in the game. Glad that City aren't at the top of their game.
Some observations:
Albrighton on the left and Heskey on the right are there obviously to protect Cuellar and Hutton. Is it worth it? Petrov and Gardner got overran by sometimes even 4 vs. them two. Positive attacking contributions from Albrighton & Heskey <2. Didn't see any, but just to be sure.
Bent and Keane up front: why? Is it living up to the fetish "have to play two up front at home". That's load of bollocks. I wish Keane would play more in the hole. Maybe he's been there but I've missed it because of the hoofing that's going on.
I'd throw in Ireland is eager and smart in closing the players down. Always dangerous on the ball. Keeps possession. Get Clark in to strengthen the middle and help us keep possession. Sub Heskey and Albrighton.
So the formation would be not diamond 442, but a 41311/451 with a narrow + fluid "plus five" in the middle.
Bent
Keane
Gardner Petrov Ireland
Clark
Cuellar Dunne Collins Hutton
Edit: maybe Gardner could be replaced with THE NZOG.
-
I am a very positive, rarely critical, hopeful, life long Villa fan.
This is awful and I blame the MCleish mentality.
-

Good comment, TV.
-
we shouldn't need keane for our next three matches.
-
Dante, I think I can safely say we all support the club but watching such negative tactics is frustrating. If we had a go at Man Citeh but ended up losing then it would soften the blow and most would accept it and say at least we had a go. The negativity we are seeing week in week out is what is driving us nuts especially when we have a defence so regularly gifting goals to the opposition.
-

I'd rather let Man City worry about us.
-

Clark's injured, I believe
-
The way we are playing is an embarrassment to the club and its history.
-
I bet if somehow we're still drawing 0-0 at the 80th min (if we're lucky), he still won't bother bringing on Ireland to win the match or anything. He's after his goal less draw.
-
The way we are playing is an embarrassment to the club and its history.
I agree.
I felt like this at Wembley v Chelsea when we were so negative on the day of a big occasion.
-

Exactly. Look at the reaction after the arsenal game. We actually tried to play football even if we lost. And that positive performance carried on to the Chelsea game.
-
we shouldn't need keane for our next three matches.
The thing is, it wasn't too long ago we were talking about our easy run of matches yada yada yada and things would get much better, but here we are approaching 6 wins out of 25, and well over three months with no home win, and we're sat in 15th place.
-
Positives.. we haven't conceded, and we haven't really came close to conceding.
Assuming we become a better attacking side in the second half (as we can't possibly be worse), things are looking okay.
They hit the post, how close do they need to get?
-
Did Chris Coleman just say "I like this Albrighton dude"?
-
villa mascot doesnt shake man citys mascot hand . Classic
-
Citeh aren't all that and a well picked side could have a chance of winning. This team has no chance of winning. AMs attitude is simply disgraceful to all those fans who have made the EFFORT to go down today.
-
The tactics today and against Spurs are exactly what those rationally against McLeish because of his perceived style were concerned about. I honestly believed that with much better players that he'd play to those strengths. He has very rarely done that and that is losing support from the less emotional fans.
Let's see if anything changes in the 2nd half.
-
Strip everything away and people pay to go to football matches to be entertained. They will cheer an exciting and exhilarating defeat like against Arsenal, but paying for this shit is unacceptable.
-
I don't think of us as attacking the Holte end more like defending the Witton
-
Get Clark in to strengthen the middle and help us keep possession. Sub Heskey and Albrighton.
Clark's injured, I believe
Cheers. Missed that.
-

I came out of the Arsenal game absolutely buzzing. I wasn't even too bothered that we'd lost, I was buzzing because we'd played some very good football and really had a go at them.

Exactly, and this is just appalling and a short sighted approach.
-
We're a soft goal away from zero points here. The chances of it not happening are slim. Give it a go ffs.
-
I have not been drinking.Villa 1 Man City O FT ........
-
Keane showing passion

I apologies to you (and all). I did not see the first half so was commenting in the score rather than the performance. I assumed that people were taking the knee jerk reaction of moaning because Heskey was in the team rather than what was actually happening. I trust it has been as bad as you guys have said.
-

Given had that covered. Had he been saved by the post I'd agree.
-
We must be the best team in the division at turning attack into defense.
-
Up to now who would be your Villa MoM?
-
Keane showing passion
We'll miss that. Several times in recent matches he has been the one geeing up the rest of the team.
-
Up to now who would be your Villa MoM?
Keane. For looking bothered.
-
Better.
-
Nasri has such an incredibly punchable face.
-
Robbie Keane is our best player that says it all. has Bent touched the ball yet?
-
Fergal - Cuellar.
I think we are dragging them down to our level.
-
A bit better, a bit of urgency. Now if we had a midfielder instead of Heskey and Albrighton was on the correct side, we might do better.
-

He'd need to have balls the size of coconuts to have done that.
-
Where Keane got the ball there is where Ash used to get it. He'd then rip down the left, skin the full back before crossing to Carew or Gabby. Fuck me...
-
Albrighton is having a stinker. I'd def get him off ASAP
-
I think that sums up the tactics in this match. They have a throw in in line with the 18 yard box. We have all 11 players in the final third and they still have three back on the halfway line. So any clearance comes straight back.
-
Ireland and N'Zog on please.
-
New half, same old.
-
The thing is I don't think that Man City are all that good!
-
Ireland and N'Zog on please.
Agreed as long as the right players go off.
We certainly need more numbers in MF - they're cramping us every time we have the ball.
-
Do these fucking players practice playing football together EVERY FUCKING DAY or not?
-
Hmmm. We're showing some signs of life here...
-
I've had so little to cheer I was roaring encouragement for Albrighton chasing that. God that's dire.
-
I just want Randy to do one of two things.
1. Sell us to someone with more money than Citeh's owners.
2. Get us a competent manager.
-
From attact to the keeper - fuckin dire shit of the highest order. Make a change now you useless arse of a manager.
-
I'd be a bit concerned if I were a Man City supporter.
We're offering next to nothing and letting them play it like a training match, but they don't seem to have the urgency of a team that could go top.
-
Well tracked-back, Heskey.
-
Get Ireland or N'Zog on for Heskey for fucks sake.
-
Hutton playing well
-
I just want Randy to do one of two things.
1. Sell us to someone with more money than Citeh's owners.
2. Get us a competent manager.
Or any combination of the above.
Jose M and Ł500 Million to spent for starters.
-
albrighton and heskey off please
-
Man City should have poked us a new bum part by now.
-
Well tracked-back, Heskey.
fair play to Heskey...
-
You just know that they'll score eventually. Even tho they look lacking in thrust.
-
Win the ball...*HOOF*...back in to our third again.
Will they ever fucking learn to keep the ball.
-
albrighton and heskey off please
AM won't change this.
-
Is that a policeman stood by AM?
-
Is keep heskey on to mitigate kolarovs runs. The pattern is set now. But CNZ for alby seems a no brainer. And possibly Ireland for keane
-
Petrov showing his age..
-
Have we had a shot yet?
-
The Klingon scores
-
Fuck
-
Petrov showing his age..
Yes. All match really
-
here we go...
-
Yep, it was always coming
-
And there it is.
-
We get what we deserve. Line up like that at home and you get that.
-
There we go they've scored. What you going to do Mcleish you fucking idiot.
-
Ah, there you go.
-
Always Lescott. Prick.
-
Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang bollox
-
well no one saw that comming
-
Fucking useless defenders ball chasing...
-
Well, that took a long time.
-
Well, the least surprising goal ever scored...
-
We deserve it, you play like this at home. You deserve to lose.
-
There it is.
-
There you go.
Playing like this really is an embarassment to the club, and he does himself zero favours.
-
albrighton and heskey off please
AM won't change this.
i know . until they score
-
Predictable Floodgates open now
-
And there we go. Predictable. Get some fucking subs on. Set piece goal again. Ambition free disgrace again
-
fbeen coming since the forst whistle,FUCK OFF MCLEISH U PRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
By the way that ugly fucker celebrates against us you'd think he supported that lot down the road as a kid. Wanker.
-
We should sign Lescott...one day.
Randy look what you have reduced us to. 'Underdogs' star struck at home. Such a horrible, horrible situation we are in.
-
No way they have scored. Never saw that coming. 7 points off the drop with a manager that has a passion for relegation. We are in deep deep mire.
-
There we go they've scored. What you going to do Mcleish you fucking idiot.
Try to keep it to 0-1... Good result that you know.
-
Predictable ... poor defending again ... what response with McL will give us?
-
There you go.
Playing like this really is an embarassment to the club, and he does himself zero favours.
McLeish is going to get a lot of rocks thrown at him tonight. And every one of them will be very deserved.
-
And almost two.
For the first. I liked how all the central defenders chased the ball to the far post at Johnson to leave three Citeh players pretty much unmarked in front of goal.
-
It's great for morale.
Not only does it sound like a Man City home match, we've played it like it's a Man City home match.
-
Mancs in the corporate area have been ejected, should be hung, drawn, and quartered in an ideal world.
-
fook im two mins behind you lot . I forgot I froze the pic for a piss
-
I should imagine that it is it for today....you can't really see ourselves getting back into this
-
So, having lost the game already, how about changing things around and just fucking going for it? Eh?
-
Im sitting in the pub listening to city fans saying this is the worst team they've seen this season. Just as I did v spurs, Liverpool and man u.
-
That's it for me. I'm not sticking up for McLeish again.
He dug his own fucking grave today.
-
2-17 goals attempts at home
Where's Ireland? Where's N'Zogbia?
DAMAGE LIMITATION
-
I am totally gutted at what the fucking clueless owner and the fucking clueless manager have done to my club...
-
Dunne - you tw*t; every game, he goes through the back of an attacker.
-
Set piece ... yet again!
-
That's it for me He's got to go
-
So he knew the protests were due because of our poor style of play, so he decides to revert back to the poorest style he could have done.
-
Probably a few more people wondering when the next protest is.
-
amc will be over the moon with 1-0
ffs change it , at least have a go , even if its 3-0
-
I've not really subscribed to this view before, but I am starting to think that this bloke genuinely could take us down.
-
TOO FUCKING LATE
-
Predictable ... poor defending again ... what response with McL will give us?
None, he'll take 0-1
-
Ah N'zog on for Heskey. That's 68 minutes too late.
-
Mclueless, make some changes you fuckwit.
-
remember when we all kicked off about the possibility of getting Fat Sam as manager, I would snatch you hand off if offered him now...
-
That's it for me. I'm not sticking up for McLeish again.
He dug his own fucking grave today.
You & I both.
I want him out of our club.
-
Albrighton has given up
-
That's it for me. I'm not sticking up for McLeish again.
He dug his own fucking grave today.
Totally. I stuck up for him the other day saying he'd apparently learned from his mistakes and was at least trying to go for it a bit. Then he goes and reverts to type and gives us a repeat of Spurs/ Man Yoo/ Liverpool. The man is an idiot.
-
I am so thoroughly depressed watching this. I am very, very concerned about the remaining games and where the points will come from. The teams below us are picking up points and we look completely devoid of confidence and the squad is beginning to fragment again.
-
it takes AMC and all his coaching staff all week to decide on starting with Heskey at home .
-
Albie looks particularly clueless today.
-
Tumbling bear finally off. And straight away we do the most positive play in 60 odd minutes.
-
Just seen the Villa bench all looking clueless, looks like AM doesn't have a plan B as he certainly didn't have a plan A
-
I am totally gutted at what the fucking clueless owner and the fucking clueless manager have done to my club...
Me too. That's it for me. I have defended McLeish but today was the tipping point. What Lerner was thinking the day he appointed him I'll never know. The writing was on the wall about this club the day Martinez turned down the chance to work for Lerner.
-
That's it for me. I'm not sticking up for McLeish again.
He dug his own fucking grave today.
im with you . the bloke has not got a clue
Totally. I stuck up for him the other day saying he'd apparently learned from his mistakes and was at least trying to go for it a bit. Then he goes and reverts to type and gives us a repeat of Spurs/ Man Yoo/ Liverpool. The man is an idiot.
-
As each week goes by more and more supporters will turn on Mclueless. I have tried to give him a chance but I have had enough now.
-
It's pretty much impossible to suggest he's getting anything like the best out of this set of players.
-
I've not really subscribed to this view before, but I am starting to think that this bloke genuinely could take us down.
I hadn't seen your post when I made mine. I'm really starting to worry now. We have a stretch of games against teams in and around us and I just don't know that as a club we have the belief to win any of them.
-
3% possession in city's third this half.
Mcleish out. First time I've said that
-
The ball has been in the Citeh third for less then one minute of the second half. And most of that has probably been defenders back passing.
-
3% of the possession in Man City's third...Unbelievable.
-
Totally crap from that idiot McCleish sick of this negative football get him out before he takes us down
-
This is so depressingly shit. I really can't express how shit I feel.
-
this is a fucking embarasement!!!!!!!have a fucking go at them!!!!!
-
No passion, no belief and no idea.
-
You play for a 0-0 at home, 10 men behind the ball from the start, zero ambition then...you get what you deserve. Nothing. Zombie football.
Evidently McLeish learned nothing from Everton's attitude and intent in their recent win against City. Evidently Villa should be honoured to be sharing a pitch with the Manc millionaires. What a fucking tragedy.
What is the point of AVFC circa 2012?
-
nzog has done more than heskey in two mins
-
Liverpool, Man U and Man City at home have been the three most inept displays I have seen at home in about 10 years. Even more worrying, Swansea and others were just as bad.
I thought he had turned a corner just before Christmas, then we won at Chelsea, and we looked like we could pick some points up.
Now he is regressing, right at the wrong time. We are in deep, deep trouble.
-
That's it for me.
Even if we score, even if we somehow win I have made up my mind. He made it harder than he need have. He went into this game with a strategy that was going to make fans puke, players nervous and invite one of the best sides in the league onto us until they scored.
-
Ireland is our most creative player. Where is he?
-
Don't forget how poor that stat is. 3% of the play in Man City's third includes Man City being in possession. We haven't pressed them back when their defence has had the ball, meaning their centre backs can start passing from the halfway line, giving them a huge territorial advantage. It's just basic.
-
Too little too late AM FUCK OFF NOW
-
What is the point of AVFC circa 2012?
About the same as it was under O'Leary/Ellis. The results, the approach we take to games (surrendering before they even start), it looks exactly the same.
Proud history, no future.
-
Did we honestly expect anything different today, he played for a draw by holding out as long as possible, he did the same against Spurs and Man United, he puts out a team with far too much respect for the opposition in the hope we don't get hammered to dent the confidence further.
-
Streaker on the pitch. Sounds like he has gone past more people then any one of our players.
-
That streaker showed more determination and drive to move than any of our players so far, being outdone by a naked man is not good.
-
Go fuck yourself McLeish you moron. You have zero backbone and you're afraid to try and win a football game at HOME.
What an embarrassing, negative performance.
IF YOU THINK A DRAW WAS THE BEST CHANCE OF US GETTING A RESULT WHY DO YOU THINK MAN CITY RAPING US ALL OVER THE FIELD IS THE BEST WAY TO GET A RESULT? THEY HAVE CAMPED IN OUR HALF THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE GAME AND YET YOU HAVENT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHY ARE YOU PLAYING HESKEY IN MIDFIELD? WHY ISN'T N'ZOGBIA OR IRELAND NOT PLAYING?
-
Ireland on 76 minutes too late.
-
Ireland coming on, for Marc.
-
Ireland has 14 mins to change the game...
-
If I was watching this as a neutral I'd be made up that City had scored. We are so anti-football its hard not to think we are getting what we deserve.
-
Jesus Christ, McLeish, why the fuck didn't you do this from the start?
This negative shit is just so pointless. It doesn't work.
-
The Villa is ours........fuck off Alex
-
WE look way better with N'Zog on.
Lets hope Ireland can help add to that and hopefully we can score.
-
We deserve to be relegated.
Teams like Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan may have less points than us but at least they have a go at every game.
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
-
Lerner bought Bent last year when we were in bother. Sacking McLeish tomorrow would be the equivalent. We need somebody to lift the mood.
-
So the side that is on now is what I would have started with.
-
You play for a 0-0 at home, 10 men behind the ball from the start, zero ambition then...you get what you deserve. Nothing. Zombie football.

What is the point of AVFC circa 2012?
Keeping the oppo under pressure when not in possession is something that NU, Everton and Swansea have done really well this season, and it's something we don't seem to think is worth doing. It's basic stuff but we don't do it. Which is why the defence always seems so deep.
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
Who's going to listen to the chants?
Our owner? When was the last time he was in the country to hear what the fans think.
-
Citeh have stopped playing and reverting to holding on, could be our day yet.
-
What is the point of AVFC circa 2012?
To make up the numbers ?
-
F*****g useless, wait 'til we're a goal down before we wake up and McClueless brings on N'zogbia and Ireland
-
Shall we have a thread with a poll asking if AM should be sacked?
-
Still sitting back for christ sake AM go now !
-
Shall we have a thread with a poll asking if AM should be sacked?
Yes.
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
I know its odd.
-
An attempt on goal!
-
Corner stupidly given away. If it had been at the other end you would fear a goal was the outcome.
-
Come on Villa.
-
An attempt on goal!
Strike me with a shitty stick.
Collins should have gone down in a heap, the guy behind him clearly shoved him
-
76 minutes too late - Albrighton is just not up to this level of football - he had a good first half of last season and was then found out and has shown nothing this season
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
Because it would serve no purpose and would be counter-productive.
-
I don't care where our manager came from and I don't care where he goes just as long as he goes now.
-
Why do we employ a man who has no faith in our team?
-
Gary Neville laughing when they showed the attempts on goal stats. Says it all.
-
76 minutes too late - Albrighton is just not up to this level of football - he had a good first half of last season and was then found out and has shown nothing this season
Bit harsh
-
Cuellar is showing some desire. I would play him regularly
-
Is there a worse footballing team in the division than us?
-
Cuellar is showing some desire. I would play him regularly
The irony is, he's the one most certain to not be here next season.
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
I know its odd.
Maybe we can't hear the chants? Tyler keeps alluding to our supporters paying good money and deserving their chance to voice an opinion.
-
Is there a worse footballing team in the division than us?
[/quote
I don't think so.
Maybe Wolves
-
Why on earth are our fans at the game not chanting for him out?
I know its odd.
Stunned with the awfulness of it all.
Watching this type of display is like being Bishop Brennan - it only catches up with you later what has happened
-
Always looking back, passing defensively.
-
I see Gary G has caught the stand there without movement bug that infects the rest of the first team.
-
Cuellar is showing some desire. I would play him regularly
To be fair I think he has played quite well for a position that he doesn't regularly play.
-
Is there a worse footballing team in the division than us?
No.
-
I'd say Wolves are worse than us.
-
It sounds like the Man U game all over again. I left the ground that day with the feeling that the game never even started.
-
I really hope this shower of shite dont win the the title. Piss poor they are.
-
Corner!
-
Lumping the ball forward aimlessly , surely Randy Lerner can see how inept and clueless AM is as a manager
-
76 minutes too late - Albrighton is just not up to this level of football - he had a good first half of last season and was then found out and has shown nothing this season
Bit harsh
Not really, he's not that quick, doesn't possess a "trick" and doesn't deliver well enough from set-pieces - in fact not as good as Peter Whittingham was when he was here
-
Cueller closest we have come all match.
-
So close Carlos :(
-
Lumping the ball forward aimlessly , surely Randy Lerner can see how inept and clueless AM is as a manager
He won't be watching.
He's probably watching an old episode of ER on cable or something.
-
Cuellar should have hit the target!!!
-
Got to feel for Bent, has he been given the ball in their third at all today?
Possibly the most badly timed career move ever.
-
How on earth did he not score?
-
I really feel for those that paid their hard-earned..
-
Lovely delivery from N'Zogbia, why did he start on the bench?
-
Had to score. Would have been outrageously unmerited mind!
-
Totally free header... should have scored there!
-

Bit harsh

Albrighton is twice the player that Whittingham was.
-
we are going down, that usless fuckin clown of a manager aint going anywhere!!
-
Lovely delivery from N'Zogbia, why did he start on the bench?
Well he's not looking very lacking in fitness, so I suspect because of Twatter.
-
As someone earlier said, no fire, no energy, no passion ... lack of desire!
-
Great save from Hart.
-
see when you attack McLeish stuff happens you idiot.
-
Mark Albrighton? An honest tryer but too lightweight. Doesn't deserve to be slated because you can tell he cares and wants to do his best but unfortunately his best isn't good enough often enough for this league. Squad player at best.
-
What a fucking save.
-
I really hope this shower of shite dont win the the title. Piss poor they are.
Since Christmas they have played like we used to play in March. With the amount of money they have spent and the squad they have, you would be surprised to find they are still such a one man team until Yaya Toure doesn't play for several matches.
-
1-0 down at home, a corner in the 90th minute, why do we still only have 4 players in the box?
-
Why why why wait until the last couple of mins to have a go for it.
-
Stunning stop that.
Harsh, great try from Bent.
-
Lovely pass through to Bent by Ireland there, by the way. On the floor and everything.
-
Dunney takes a bad one there!
-
Well, it looks like we can only play in the last 10 mins now. makes a change for all the time we have stopped playing in that time.
-
There's no foul there. Fucking ridiculous.
-
We literally didn't attack until 80 minutes in. And then we could have had 2 or 3. I'd like to think we'll learn the lesson but the evidence suggests this hope is forlorn
-
i fucking hate u Mcleish,we would have got something out of this if we had a go from the start!!
-

Take off the claret and blue tinted specs because he is a local lad, he's just not that good and at his age won't get any better - will be a Championship regular in 2-3 years time... and i don't mean playing for us
-
Hutton's played okay today.
-
There's no foul there. Fucking ridiculous.
totally agree. All went for the ball fairly in that one.
-
i fucking hate u Mcleish,we would have got something out of this if we had a go from the start!!
we probably wouldn't have, but it's fucking embarassing to not even try.
It's also far from the first time this has happened, either.
-

I disagree, good sir.
-
Brilliant touches from Ireland. Again. Too late unfortunately.
-
Dislocated shoulder maybe?
-
Dunne collar bone gone thats all we need
-
Cuellar are best player. Says it all .....
-
SHIT
-
Why the hell did we only start to try in the dying moments? Was it because that was when we finally put N'Zog and Ireland on?
After the recent improved performances (even in the defeat against Newcastle) this is a step back after one frward which is so disappointing.
-
That would have been funny if we got a point because joe Hart slid past the ball.
-

I think some of it was Citeh settling for a 1-0 win as well.
-
We set out to contain and the manager has to take 100% of the blame for that ...
-
That surge of attacking should of started as soon as they scored. Absoloute shit ......
-
If today doesn't prove to AM his policy of trying to defend 90 mins doesn't work and if he can't see the difference when Zog and Ireland came on, he's an even bigger wank*r than I thought he was.
-
90+4 min: Gareth Barry nods the ball back to Hart who comes sliding out to gather but very nearly loses the ball. That's Villa's best chance of the game.
LOL!
-
Funny that - we looked brighter when N'Zogbia and then Ireland came on, and we realised that City, not in great form themselves, can be vulnerable under pressure.
Beaten before we started, again.
