Title: Villa v Bolton moved
Post by: lennythekad on January 23, 2012, 08:01:40 PM
Just for info, Villa v Bolton has been moved to Sunday 18th March, 4pm on Sky.
Should send the viewing figures through the roof, not!. Or more likely, cut the attendance (and the ticket prices)!

Strange one to pick...once the New Year comes round they're not under any obligation to feature teams live again, are they? The money from tv will make up for the crowd-dip I guess. Still, can't imagine the atmosphere being great. Unless we've won the previous six in a row and are battling it out with Newcastle for 5th place obviously.

Probably because Bolton are in the relegation battle and sky feel they have the chance to pick up points at VP.

Good stuff..... From a totally selfish view point.

I am pretty sure that every team has to have so many home live games each season and I could be wrong but I think only the Man Ure and Liverpool games have been on SKY/ESPN so far...............

Fucking shite. From a totally selfish viewpoint. I make that one Saturday 3pm at home between now and the end of the season based on what is likely to be moved.

Sky clearly have no faith that Villa can progress in the FA Cup, since that is quarter final weekend.

What an odd game to pick, between two really uninspiring sides this season. If I were a neutral, I couldn't think of a game I'd rather see less than this. Shame that we'll probably get a poor attendance from this as well

Perhaps they feel that we'll be teetering above relegation along with them lot, and that it could be a relegation battle or something?

Yep, bizarre pick that.

Good news is as far as I can see it none of our other league games after that have been messes with, Blackburn and Wigan away are both 3pm kick offs so I'd expect us to take good followings to both seeing as Wigan is only 20 quid.

Arsenal away is also 3pm so will be going to that one and surprisingly Chelsea at home is 3pm on a Sat as it stands which surprises me as that game is nearly awalys on TV.

Bollocks!
By the time I've taken my boy back to Leicester after the game(my son, not Heskey!) I'll get home about 9. No option but to go down the boozer and prepare for my appointment with a hangover so that Monday is even more shit than it normally is.
Thoughtless, selfish f***ers!

Forgot that one!
My son is selectively Irish on St Pat's Day (my Father in law/his Grandad from Mayo!) and will probably be in some kind of Guinness coma. Do I drive over and take him to the game or not? Answers on a postcard please......

It's the 'contractural obligations' pick. They have to show all the clubs now and again.

There are going to be a lot of very annoyed mothers around that day - I'm sure you chaps haven't forgotten that it's Mothering Sunday.

And it's my birthday too.  What a wonderful way to spend it.

I had been looking forward to a nice Roast Beef dinner about 2pm then falling asleep with the papers before waking up to something like the Antiques Roadshow. Bastards.

Come on guys what a perfect way to get a bigger crowd. Just buy your Mom's that perfect Mothers Day present..........a ticket for the Bolton match.
Mind you as some have already pointed out we'll be otherwise engaged that week end. It's our year y'know. ;)

Bugger, it looked like a great Villa/Pontiak/White Hills triple header on Sat 17th.

One of my main reasons for giving up on my season ticket.Three seasons back I missed 7 games due to the fixture being moved for TV and thus putting it out of reach due to family and work committments. However, now i don't have a ticket the 4pm Sunday games have changed from being an irritation to a nice afternoon in the boozer.God bless Sky ;)

Hasn't been too bad this season, we've had plenty more home 3pm kick offs than we usually do.
