Across Europe he was feted as one the great coaches who inspired the famous Hungarian team that thrashed England at Wembley in 1953.

But in England, Lancashire-born Jimmy Hogan remained a virtual unknown.

BBC North West Late Kick Off tells the story of a man who counted The Doc and Big Ron as two of his disciples.

Late Kick Off returns to BBC One on Monday, 16 January (2305 GMT).

You can also watch the programme again on the BBC iplayer via the Late Kick Off website.
