I was going to use Weimar Republic Marks
-
I am going to wait for Dave to get to the pub after the game and get one then.
-
Bloody hell another two quid. I'm a poor pensioner y'know.
Time to start a protest about the number of times H&V is published in a season.

He'll be sold out by then. They will all have been turned into anti-McLeish paper aeroplanes to mark the start of The Astonian Spring.
-
3 in the last 6 weeks I make it!
Will we see another before May?

You'll see several. Ten this season, as I said at the start.
Subscriber copies have all gone out; usual drill if it hasn't arrived by tomorrow morning.
-
How many issues were there in previous seasons?

Six last time, usually seven for the past few years.

Think you're the guy I normally buy off, when you see two hooded teenagers coming towards you please don't be scared, we're quite the calm type.
-
More likely you'll be scared of Percy!
-
Try the tall gentleman on the Trinity Road. I could do with the money. Just had my accountant's and my corporation tax bill. Happy bloody New Year, HMRC.

Is percy the fella with short dark hair who always looks slightly out of it?

Almost certainly.
And a quick opinion-seeking. Glossy paper or no?
-
Personally I'm not a fan of the glossy paper.
Whatever drives the price of a subscription down is cool by me !

I think the glossy paper's alright to be honest, gives it a bit more of a professional feel which might sell it better to one-time buyers. Either's fine by me, to be honest; it's the words on the page that matters I suppose.
-
Either is fine by me reading wise. As Chipsticks said, glossy probably looks nicer to one off buyers whereas I'm more interested in how cheap it is!
-
Glossy paper and an increase in publication frequency...blimey, is there a go-getting new boss in charge at H&V Towers?
-
I write regularly for it. That should knock the price of a subscription down a bit.
-
And frank was very enthusiastic about mentioning jon and I Regarding vienna away and was most disappointed to find we'd been replaced' by 'some other villa away fans' (or something like that). Not that it matters.

Sorry.

Do we know who it was that bought five copies of Leeg ?
-
A very, very, very nice man indeed.
-
I like the gloss treatment.
I should have bought 5 copies as it would have been easier to carry those than the change Legion gave me!
-
An excellent read as usual. The glossy paper does make it look more professional but as others have said it';s the words on the paper that are more important.
When I got to the piece 'Standing room only' it gave me a bit of a shock as I've been working on a similar article for a future issue.
Have you been rummaging around in my hard drive Mr. Woodhall? :)

So you were one of those who only had a £20 note.
That's why Leeg has to have me and PeterWithesShin with him as minders before the game.

Yesterday's bizarre question:
"Which way do I go to get to Erdington?"
I pointed him in the right direction and off he went.
-
I like the glossy look, also the choice of photo on the front cover

So do I. it looks more professional. My favourite front cover image this season has been the Shay Given issue.
-
I always think the glossy ones look thinner than the non-glossy we use, and are more difficult to turn the pages but things like photo reproduction is better. Basically, paper is now so expensive that we use whichever of the two the printers can get for the best price.
-
Which would you prefer, Dave?
-
In my view it makes very little difference what is used.
The only important part that needs to be a good quality and finish is the front cover, as that is what people see.
Aldi for example spend three times as much on the packaging of there goods than they do on the product itself

Correct.

My regular customers include Danny Brown and Big H from the Steamers. I see teenage hoodies as light relief.

Have you ever dared to tell either Danny or Big H that unless they have the right money you wont sell to them?
-
I just knock 2 quid off their protection money.
Err...lol.
