Having lost against Manyoo, Liverpool, L'Arse and now Swansea, I make thar four straight home league defeats.
I've been trying to think when we last had such a bad run as that and I can't come up with an answer. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't happened since I started going regularly in the mid-1980s.
Is there any statto out there who can come up with the answer?
-
1999 apparently.
-
Blackburn 1-3
Leeds 1-2
Coventry 1-4
Chelsea 0-3
We then drew 0-0 at home to West Ham before getting a win against Southampton.
-
Righto.
Hopefully things will pick up versus Everton in a few weeks then.
-
It would be nice not to be losing before 20 minutes. We seem to gift side a head start at home of late.
-
When was the last time we lost 5 on the spin?
-
Also during that 1999 run was the 0-2 home defeat to 3rd division Fulham in the cup.
-
I can not remember a horrible run of results like this with 5 deafeats in 6 games. This is worse than 1999. Villa Park is a sand castle rather than a fortress.
-
It's poor we all saw it coming
-
Our next game is against Everton at home. I can imagine that will be a draw

Bouncy castle Villa Park.

Bouncy castle Villa Park.
You can have a good time in a bouncy castle, unlike Villa Park
-
Fans don't want McLeish, end of.
Can't see the environment getting much better at Villa Park. It's hard to support someone you've spent the last three and a half years despising. Randy is too thick skinned to change a thing. Moyes to put one over on McLeish.

Huge game, business end of the season now, we lose that and AM will start to really feel the shift in what's left of any support he once enjoyed.
Massive game.
-
When would a cup replay be? Before or after Everton?
-
After the Everton game.
-
The last time it happened we had been top of the table a week or two before. Then Keegan's Fulham, two divisions below, beat us at home in the FA Cup, Collymore got depressed and bad vibes descended on all of our souls.
-
After topping the table pretty much from day one until the New Year we had the run of 10 league games without a win. The Fulham game was between the 4 game home losing streak. IIRC weren't we 5 or 6 points clear at the top at one point?
-
That season still leaves a pretty bitter taste, if only Doug would've sanctioned the extra 500k for Juninho.

Yes we were - 6 points clear at the beginning of October and still 3 ahead of Man U after the famous 3-2 against Arsenal in December
-
Hopefully we stop the rot of losing at home by beating Everton at home.
-
Perhaps if the Chelsea and Swansea results were swapped, this would then have apparently fitted into our season plan of trying to only beat weaker teams in the league. The fact we beast Yelsea means the Swansea defeat has now hit us with more of a wallop.
-
Meanwhile, we were actually pretty good against Arsenal and Stoke, and superb away to Chelsea. A good performance prior to this away to an admittedly poor Bolton and a resolute performance away to Swansea.
I genuinely felt after Stoke away that we'd turned a corner, felt vindicated in this on leaving Stamford Bridge, and yesterdays debacle does nothing to change it.
Its not often you'll get Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal in a row at home.
-
Still very annoyed about our performance last night, but I'd rather have the win at Chelsea and the defeat by Swansea than the other way round.

To be honest the worst thing for me is not that we concede early but the fact that once we concede we never look like or are willing to fight back
