On a B'ham Mail forum this guy mentioned that he'd heard that Bernard Arnault, a French billionaire, was interested in Villa.
Anyone else heard this.
Can't see it personally.
-
Houllier as director of football anyone?
-
Aston Villa the FRENCH beat combo is what he is after.
-
Louis Vuitton kit next year ar kid...
-
So its come to this. Hearsay b******t from another forum.
-
There's more chance of him becoming the lead singer of Aston Villa.
Edit:Bigad82 beat me to it.
-
He can start a bidding war with that South American soft drinks bloke.
-
Richest man in Europe and 4th richest in the world according to good old Wiki
-
Europe's richest man and the world's 4th richest apparently. (42bn Dollars)
Well, O.K then. That's over 3 times richer than Abramovich.
-
According to Forbes magazine, Arnault is the world's 4th and Europe's richest person, with a 2011 net worth of US$ 41 billion
-
Louis Vuitton kit next year ar kid...
And some will still find something to complain about.
-
Probably lining us up for Wenger when the truth about him comes out.
-
its more like ASTON MARTIN than ASTON VILLA
Clicky thing (http://www.eurocarblog.com/post/437/arnault-and-frere-looking-at-aston-martin)

I saw this earlier in the day. I did the right thing and ignored it. ;)
I cant see why he would want to buy us. We would need around £200m to buy Randy out plus another few hundred mill to get us to compete. We've already shown we aren't the 'Sleeping Giant' we like to think we are (which is understandable considering the number of Premiership/thereabouts teams in our catchment area compared to just us and maybe Baggies 20/30 years ago).
Maybe he's friends with Houllier who spoke of how good our academy, stadium and stuff is and that it could be a good investment? But I cant see it. Randy said he isnt selling.
But you look at things like the new company formed at VP worth the exact amount the club is estimated to be worth, down grading playing staff, wages and general cost-cutting and it is possible he could sell, I just dont think he is.

Probably just thinks that N'Zogbia's the next Messi.
-
I would be delighted IF true, we need fresh direction.
-
What's this about Wenger?
-
Forbes has him down as the worlds 4th richest man at $41B
Only (lol...only) $15b worse off than Bill Gates himself.
Is worth the same amount as both Sergey Brin and Larry Page (2 of the founders of Google, worth $19B each)
Usmanov (Arsenal) is worth $17.7B in contrast
Abromovich (Chelsea) $13.4B
Sheikh Mansoor (City) is $28B (if my math is right)
So... this is bullshit. As stuff this good simply does not happen to us. If it does I will ride an imaginary Donkey in the nude around Villa Park at half time every home game of next season [that I can attend]

Sadly you're probably right, read this headline
Aston Martin Zagato Villa D'Este concept
-
Sure it's not Bernard Hinault interested in Villa?

Can we get this right lads it's important. Is it $41 or $42 Billion?
-
If this is true then I will eat my own head.
Where do people cook this stuff up from? Mind blowing.
-
Not that I'm holding any faith in this story but the Aston Martin article is over 5 years old.

Is there a link to this story?

We need to get a campaign going.
Let's all print out French flags and hold a demo round the back of the North Stand at 6pm on Friday, demanding WE WANT BERNARD!
if you can't print out a flag, bring something French - garlic, a string of onions, a stripey t-shirt, incredible rudeness, or a powerful trade union movement - and let them know we won't stand for this any more!
Get the fuck out, eerrr, Lernie!
We want Bernie!
Get the ginger off the bench!
Appoint someone French!
I'm off to tweet to Pete Colley about this, SSN will be all over it like a tramp on frites!
-
What's this about Wenger?
You will have to refer to the 'ITK truth about Wenger with no mention of McLeish or Lerner or Hutton or Collins or Warnock or Dunne or Heskey or hoofing or play the youth regardless of how good they are ' thread. Unfortunately, it has sunk without trace as, strangely, there are no comments.

Will he be able to outspend that team in Manchester is a question we all want to know. ?
-
This reminds me of that time my Newcastle supporting mate thought Vince McMahon was going to buy them.

The Undertaker up front would be pretty good.
-
This rich bloke was probably in the market to buy a villa, heard one was going for 200mil, would love to see his face when he googles "property in Aston"
-
Yeah, but will the pies and tannoy system get better? That's all that counts, right?
-
Has he got a tattoo on his leg? If yes, we had better dust off those European phrase books.
-
I reckon this is so Jackanory that there's more chance of Bernard Cribbins buying us.
-
Be good if it was true, if only for the countless "Aston Villa are ruining football" threads that would undoubtably appear on here*
* or perhaps not.

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.
