Next 4 games:
Liverpool- H
Arsenal- H
Stoke- A
Chelsea- A
What do we reckon? In all honesty, I think we'd do well to get 2 points. Can't see us getting anything from the Londoners. Liverpool we may get a point, but lets face it, they mostly mug us, so they'll probably win. Stoke A is always tough.
It's not a very nice run of games. However, if McLeish pulls off a couple of decent results, then he'll get onside with the fans.
-
Chelsea away could be more of a chance than we might have thought in recent years. If we keep our cool and don't treat them with the pathetic reverence we showed City, Spurs and United, we could break on them with real pace and cause them the type of problems they've found it hard to counter at home.
-
We'll beat Liverpool and Stoke and draw with Arsenal and Chavski.
Believe...
-
I think we should get a win and a draw out of that lot I can see us beating Liverpool and drawing with Stoke.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if we got 8 points, or 0 points. Depends on what side we put out and what mentality and confidence they have.
-
4 points, beat stoke and draw to Liverpool
-
6 points. Win against Stoke and draw the rest.
-
It's a tricky run of games but with a bit of luck we can easily get 5 or 6 points from them
-
Liverpool at home should be the easiest - don't rate them at all.
Then Stoke, can we match them on the field and then play our own game.
Arsenal, let's play to beat them, because we won't be able to defend 90 minutes and not let in a goal.
Chelsea will be very difficult.
-
Liverpool Defeat
Arsenal Defeat
Stoke Draw
Chelsea Defeat
-
We'll win all four.
Of course.
-
I think we will lose all 4.
And that's because AM will revert bal to his defensive formation and we will be awful again.
If we continue to play Marc and Zog we have a chance.
-
We'll win one of them, hopefully the Liverpool one but got a feeling it'll be the Arsenal game, 5 points out of the 4.
-
Go defensive at it'll be 0 points. So lets play with 2 wide players, give it a go n we might surprise a few.

To be expected under the new reign of the the supreme almighty Kenny Dalglish
Van Persie hatrick
Meh
The call for his head.

I'd like to see us put up a really strong performance against Liverpool. A win against them would be significant seeing as they're just a few points ahead of us. It would set us up well for the tough fixtures to come too.
-
Looking at this list just goes to point out how important yesterdays win was.
Can't see another point until Swansea, if there is a weak link there I would say maybe Liverpool.
-
1 point at home to Liverpool.
-
2 points out of the next 4 games.
-
Even in our current form I'd be disappointed if we lost all of those. Chelsea would be the most likely, the other three are far from nailed on defeats.
Liverpool are nothing special.
-
2 points i think,1 next sunday and 1 against Stoke
-
Liverpool Defeat
Arsenal Defeat
Stoke Draw
Chelsea Defeat
This. If Stoke have an off day.
If AM twigs that Villa finished 6th 3 years running with 2 wingers in a 442, so the Bolton game was head & shoulders above all other displays this season and also that Bent was a hotshot until he arrived, far more points are available.
-
Depends on McLeish's approach - and which Liverpool turn up.
-
Now I know it was Bolton yesterday, but I think the first half showed if we try to play a passing game and try to win we can actually do well. After the Manure game I was all for Mcleish to go, but if he tries to win every game and tries to get us passing it around I'm happy for him to give it a go. If we adopt that approach to these games maybe 4 or 5 points.
-
No reason why we cant beat Liverpool so long as we go at them. Also think we can get a point v Arsenal and maybe the same at Stoke. The things is McLeish must now realise that we are better if we attack as we are not good enough to defend all game in the hope of sneaking a point
-
1 home draw either against Arsenal or Liverpool.
Think we'll lose both away games, Stoke are getting back to being formidable at home and Chelsea is usually a loss.
-
We've only lost 2 of the last 5 at Chelsea so shouldn't be shitting at ourselves at the thought of playing them.
-
Liverpool - Win
Stoke - Draw
Arsenal - Draw
Chelsea - Draw
-
I reckon we will do very well to get a win, would say it would be stoke or chelsea if we were lucky. can't let stoke play like they did today against spurs, need to stop them from coming at us and get collins tight on crouch.
-
One or possibly two points tops I reckon: Liverpool and / or Chelsea
I hope our morale would survive sufficiently intact
-
I think we can beat Liverpool as long as AM doesn't go all defensive.
-
Gabby out against pool, we've no chance.
-
Liverpool - Draw
Stoke - Draw
Arsenal - Defeat
Chelsea - Defeat
-
I'm a big believer in momentum in football and while I wouldn't say we have any of that after one win, were we to beat Liverpool we'd then be going into the Arsenal game with good confidence. Will we beat Liverpool? IMO they're the weakest of the top 6, so with home advantage I wouldn't rule it out, even though Gabby will be a big loss, but it does mean we have to approach it as we did Bolton as opposed to Spurs/Man Utd.
Still, I'd take 5 point from that lot.
-
I'd bring Bannan in for Gabby and play him in behind Bent, if Albrighton and N'Zogbia show the same effort and application as on Saturday then I think we'll beat Liverpool.
I don't want to look any further ahead than that.

Bizarrely, I think I'd prefer Heskey for this one.
On Saturday we went 4-4-2, so with the extra striker up top that pushed the wingers wider, so we had good width. When we play the 4-3-3 I think Gabby and CNZ can be to narrow in trying to support Bent, so that can make us too easy to nullify. So we keep things as much the same as we can, with Emile making a nuisance of himself and creating space for Bent.
-
It's a good point, John. I'm just a little concerned about us being overun in the middle.

That's always a possibility if you play 4-4-2, but don't Liverpool play that formatino aswell? Also, and I didn't want to say this in my original post, we always have the option of dropping Heskey a little deeper as we see how the game develops.
-
Ten points, draw at Stoke.
Bring the screens, nurse.

Is Gabby definitely suspended? If so, that is a scandal given the yellow card against Bolton. I watched on Football First and the co commentator thought the decision was crazy! Jaaskelainen kicked the ball AT Gabby, who didn't try and impede the keeper. Surely that should be looked at again? How come you can't appeal against a first yellow yet you can for a second yellow or straight red? Especially when that twat Dowd was involved - he sent Herd off against the Baggies only for it to be recinded - confused... Gabby will be a major loss against Liverpool when if justice prevailed that would be overturned. Dowd is the one who should be suspended! I'll never forgive him after the Carling Cup Final debacle when Vidic should've gone early.

I'd like to be able to appeal every time Dowd gets given one of our games.

Absolutely nothing to lose I say
ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

I wouldn't have thought we will get anything at Chelsea but I reckon we can get something out of all of the next three. I reckon beat Liverpool then a couple of draws.
