A mate of mine is an Arsenal fan and he and his dad are coming up to VP for the game on the 21st. They are thinking of driving up from London and asked me the best place to park.
I realised that I don't have a clue where to suggest as I either bus it to VP or we park a fair bit away and walk the rest. Not something i'd overly suggest for someone making their first VP visit on a night game as it would be easy to get lost around the side streets in the dark. Any suggestions of somewhere safe and easy to explain to them?
-
Park at the Leisure Centre. Easy from the M6

Parking in the secure school car park with the green fence around it is always a safe bet due to it's guaranteed security and being located close to the ground. As long as they don't wear Arsenal colours they'll be fine.

The power league car park, its rite next to Spaghetti Junction so ideal access for London based travellers.

Yes if they don't mind circa 45 minutes to exit after the game.

Ruskin Hall, if you can get there early and park at the front you can normally get straight on the expressway no problem. However, I usually go north so not sure of the difficulties joining the M6 south

King Edward's School - I got a season ticket for there this year (effectively getting 2 league games plus any cup matches free). Nice stroll across Aston Park to the ground. Always see a few away fans there and I've never seen a problem with people wearing colours, although it would obviously be unwise to get gobby if they beat us. Can be a bit of a pig afterwards to get back to the expressway - Ruskin Hall cars clog things up and I think the police hold the traffic back until the away coaches have gone through

Star city....
-
Factory opposite Leisure centre - £5 and pretty quick to get away from
-
Yew Tree Pub. £5.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far folks. Maybe I should run a poll to see which I suggest to him ;D

We have parked at the Leisure Centre for years. Yes it used to take 45 minutes to exit but not any more.

Next to the Aston Social, £5 and seems safe.
You have to look hard for the sign, but with a 37k gate at most, no probs parking there - spaces are plentiful.
Exit strategy the most challenging !

Broadway School on Aston Lane
Far easier exit that dealing with the traffic around the Leisure Centre area
