Title: Forest away - 84/85
Post by: Richie on November 12, 2011, 09:24:24 AM

I've seen a few of these over the years - Villa managing to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.

Still great footage though. Good to see Steve McMahon and a young Paul Rideout in a Villa shirt.

By the following season, both had been sold to be replaced by the reserves (together with Steve "desert the sinking ship" Hodge, ironically playing for Forest in this match) and the result was inevitable relegation in 86/87.

Great vid, fantastic kit and just like us to throw the lead away like that.

Another game which is typical of Villa getting themselves into a winning position as they often do and giving it away.

If football matches were played over 80 minutes i'm sure we would of won the title on a few more occassions.

Ref was a joke giving that penalty though.
