Blimey, scary stuff.
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri says his team will be playing for Antonio Cassano against BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The striker, 29, has spent the last two days in hospital after being taken ill following the 3-2 win over Roma.
Reports from Italian news agency Ansa claimed he had suffered a stroke.
Allegri said: "We'll be playing for Antonio. Quite apart from the sporting element, what counts most is the human aspect and we're all feeling sad."
Cassano had complained of finding it difficult to speak or move when the team arrived back in Milan in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He has since been undergoing tests on his heart and brain in hospital.
Allegri added: "Antonio was doing well and he was in good shape and I hope he'll be back as soon as possible.
"The doctors are working on it, let's hope it all goes well.
"I can't diagnose him but he sounds fine. It was completely unexpected and has nothing to do with football. Let's leave it to the doctors and I think everything will be fine."
Luton defender Sol Davis had a stroke in 2006 but was able to return to the first team two months later.
Milan are top of Champions League Group H after drawing with Barcelona and beating BATE Borisov and Viktoria Plzen so far.

Not the first, Ashley had one too.

disgraceful comment.

Not the first, Ashley had one too.
It's probably not the place for that.

A Luton Town player suffered one a few years ago but was back playing within a couple of months. Hopefully something similar will happen with Cassano. Incredibly talented footballer if a bit barking at times. Supporting a team when he plays there is rarely dull.
-
I'm shocked lets hope he makes a full recovery.

As funny as I found this, it's probably more suitable on the Jokes thread.
I wish the lad a speedy recovery, a real quality player.

I didn't find it funny at all. I also wish him a speedy recovery.

Always amazes me how these super fit sports people get such terrible health issues - strokes / cancer / heart issues
When you are such an unhealthy fucker like me i find it really strange

Isn't black humour one of the cornerstones of the nation? I'm willing to bet that Brazilian Villain wishes him a speedy recovery too

It is, but surely there's a time and place for it.
As someone who's father had a stroke in February, of which he died two weeks later, and who's mother had a stroke three weeks ago which has severley damaged
her speech, I found it impossible to see the funny side.
I'm sure there will be quite a few people reading it that will have similar experiences.
If it was in a 'light hearted' thread then fair enough but this really isn't the place for it, though I'm sure BrazillianVillain didn't mean to upset or offend anyone.
Hopefully it was only a mild stroke and he recovers completely.

Sounds pretty bad, he needs a heart op. Hope he recovers soon.

Can someone explain this to me?

Best wishes to your mother for a full recovery.

Ashley Young was caught by the tabs cracking one off on a web cam to some bird a while back.
The poster is comparing the stroke suffered by Cassano to the "stroke" Ashley had.

Nasty

If he's had heart surgery the chances of him playing again must be fairly small? Unfortunate if so, he's a quality player.
-
Sound like he developed a blood clot on the flight.
Real shame, bit of a character but still a decent player. Will miss his escapades till me returns. Best of luck.
