Blimey 100% agreement - am on the right forum ;-)

I went for a Villa win, I haven't done that for a while!
-
Count me in for a Villa win too! Come on you Young Lions!

Been watching the 1st team;-)

2-1 Villa. Don't know the scorer.
-
Gardner.
-
That's more like it. Come on, Villa!
-
I only know because I was about to put a tenner on @ 2.4 on Bet365. In the process the goal popped up and they dropped to 1.2.
Nice one you little bastards.

3-1 Burke

3-1 Burke.
A bit slow there Dave

I've just watched the preview on AVTV. If you haven't seen it, give it a go. There's a lot of talent coming our way! Kudos to Tony McAndrew and the rest of the youth set-up at VP. Amazing goals against Fenerbahce and it seems that Rosenborg are feeling the effect as well.
-
4-1 Villa Drennan
-
4-1 Drennan.
-
Oh fuck it.
-
Drennan's done well, then?
-
Oh fuck it.
As immediate updates go that's still not bad. The BBC seem to take forever.
-
Some very promising signs in that game with Gardner looking a great asset.
-
Missed rosenborg's goal as ww were late due to slow traffic on the M6 (nothing new there).
Once we'd settled down after their goal we played some rather good football. Like dcf posted, there's some promising talent in our under 19 team. Fingers crossed a few of them make it through the ranks.
-
What was the attendance like? Might head down for Ajax.
-
500 according to Leeg, with a few away fans.
-
I'm guessing we won 4 - 1. Brill!

I might go to the Ajax one as well. Do they only open the Trinity Lower for these games? If so is there a H&V section?
-
Sorry, didn't see this thread and I've just started one :-\
-
Just in case no one uses my thread this is my starter.
Great game last night, played some really nice stuff after going behind. They looked pretty useful so this was a good win.
Gary Gardner, head and shoulders above the rest. The lad is so strong at that level, you can see why he's in the 1st team squad.
Daniel Johnson: Covers so much ground. I think he could make it too. I think he'll be an unsung hero as he does a lot of work that many on the terraces don't notice or understand.
Samir Caruthers: Could turn out to be our next Ashley Young with all his tricks.
Callum Robinson, Graham Burke ( he knows where the net is) they all played well.
Have to admit I don't know the rest, but I'll learn. I'll be at the Ajax game for sure.
Have to mention Jack Grealish, 16 years old so playing 2 levels up. Keep your eyes on this one!!

My mate's son is a schoolfriend of Jack Grealish. He's said to be an exceptional talent.
Here's hoping.

Have to say it seemed more than that.
I don't know the capacity of the North Stand car park, but it appeared to be packed full.
I'll be at the Ajax game, they've got some quality and our boys need to pay them back some.

I estimated that amount at around 6:45. By K-O there were probably a hundred or so more. Only a rough approximation, mind.

ST vouchers were not valid. Couldn't get my free pie...

Rosenborg lost 1-0 at Fenerbahce last night. Does anyone know whether the group is played on a head-to-head basis or goal difference?
If it's head-to-head we should be through to the next round. Even if not we'd have to lose to Ajax at home and Rosenborg would then have to win away against Ajax, not counting the much better goal difference we have.
-
I'm pretty sure it's GD.
-
Cheers Leeg.
Wikipedia hasn't got us as one of the teams already through to the knockout stages, so it looks like it probably is goal difference.
Have to say that I think goal difference is a fairer system than head to head.

Not really, it can be swayed by a freak result, say a 7-0 win when the opposition had three sent off and conceded five penalties or something.

I thought it was crap when Real couldn't finish above Barcelona due to Barca winning both games between the 2 though, even though Real had far better goal difference over a 38 game season. (Much as I prefer Barca to Real)
Two bad performances can bugger up your group finish.
Guess neither system is perfect.
-
I think in a domestic league when teams are playing 38 or so games than maybe goal difference is better, it's just over six or eight games that one freak high scoring win can skew the table.
Maybe we should go back to goal average? No one understood that so they could just make it up and send who they wanted through.
