More happy memories here including one of Tony Daley's best ever goals - for me only the volley vs Man City was better. Football in 1990 or 2011? Give me 1990 anyday.
-
Even with the shirt pull and then attempted rugby tackle, Tony was too quick
-
There was no better sight in football than watching the Daley express leaving defenders for dead - remember everyone used to stand up and roar when he got the ball, the anticipation that he would do something special plus the added excitement of what his barber would do next. The scissor kick versus Everton think it was 88/89 another vintage Daley moment, a cameo appearance in the New Order world in motion video was another.

Beautiful! To be fair Chrissy Price's cross was that good would've been rude not to finish it like that.

Brian Little, Gary Shaw, Allan Evans, Sid and Tony Daley. My Villa heroes from my yoof.
-
I was there and remember it well but his volley against Everton the year before is one of my favourites.
-
Daley's was Villa's goal of the season right?
personal favourites from that era would be
Kent Neilson vs Inter 1990
Dwight Yorke vs Forest 1991
Cyrille Regis vs Coventry 1992
however
the craziest goal i have seen at Villa Park was in 1987, when against Leicester, Steve Hunt - floored from a tackle, and on his backside on the deck - had the ball in between his feet and flicked it up in the air behind him towards the penalty box and Simon Stainrod scored via an overhead kick!
At least that is how my memory recalls it!

Tony's header at Highbury has to be amongst his best, yes a header! Was it Bank Holiday Monday 93? Were we really gonna win the league?
I think it was a Bank Holiday if not I can't recall why my attendance went down quite so badly with the then Mrs. Lucky Eddie and the inlaws.....
How about his solo goal v Liverpool, one nil? that I watched on crutches from the North Stand 91? That trip didn't go down well either.

I remember the a banner in the away end that said "Luton stop the Daley delivery"
happy days, can't see many of todays players wanting to play on that pitch
