Daniel Johnson looks a real prospect.
As usual it comes with the caveat that most of them won't be Premier League footballers in a few years but this competition won't do them any harm at all.

Post by: Mazrim on October 05, 2011, 10:02:53 AM: I haven't seen them play as much as I have in previous years (yet) but based on what I've seen (and heard) of them, the latest group of 16 - 18 year olds are the best I've ever seen at Villa by some distance.
Of course nobody should be carried away yet but certainly we are in fantastic shape at academy/reserve level.

And this NextGen series is a great idea and will only help to develop these players further.

Seriously, there are 16 and 17 year olds making mugs of senior players in these games.

My reaction exactly- I had a flashback when I saw the score in the thread title. Are they going to re-match in Istanbul so we can polish them off with a 0-2 win?
