Mat Kendrick just tweeted this story about Phil King!
-
Not guilty. Even if he is.
-
Not guilty
-
I can still picture him stood there with his hands in the air after his penalty went in. Great days.
-
Another not guilty.
-
Not guilty because he played for Villa for about a 2 seasons and scored a penalty in a 2nd roung Uefa cup game? Come off it.
If he's guilty then he's a very silly boy.
-
If they pick the jury exclusively from this site, he'll leave court a free man!
Otherwise, he's not above the law just because he played for the Villa. I hope he's not guilty, but if he is, it's a sad blemish in the story of a (one-time) Holte End Hero.

YESS!!!! GO ON PHIL.
That really made me smile, thanks for posting.
-
Yeah, thanks for posting that Leeg.
Not seen that in years.
-
The penalty that is (not the crime).
-
Oh what a night. They don't come around often
-
I'm trying to remember why Spinksy was in goal that night, I thought Bosnich had more than established himself by then.
-
Great night at Villa Park!
-
Although I'd forgotten what an unnerving sight Fashanu in a Villa shirt was.
-

Wasn't it the 3 foreigner rule? So we used to play the Irish lads and drop Bosnich for Spink.
-
A former Swindon player being tried in Oxford Crown Court? It's a fucking show trial!
-
My brother made a complaint to Steve Stride about the train we had for the trip to Wembley the previous season - and he sent him two complimentary tickets in the North Stand for whoever we played in the home leg of the UEFA Cup first round. Consequently we had a great view of penalty shoot-out.
After that night I had high hopes of a good run in the competition under BFR...

It was.
I seem to remember the crowd taking the piss out of Man Utd a few weeks later after they been done 4-0 by Barcelona mid-week, partly because they hadn't been able to field their strongest side. Needless to say, they still beat us.

One of my fave nights down there . I miss those nights

Those nights were brilliant...
Who was commentating on that?

Keegan is one of them, for the life of me I can't remember the other ones name! I'm sure they both did the Tranmere home leg as well.

Super night.
Nearly ran King over the following Friday in Mere Green, but his flourescent blazer & trophy wife saved the day.

Or as they called it in Scotland, the 8 diddies rule.

Keegan was very effervescent in his support of Villa that night and was chuffed on all levels - 36 hours later his Newcastle were able to turn over our tired players at Villa Park.
I saw him as our lucky pundit - Inter, Tranmere, Man U were all commented on by him...........
-

The best well almost. Compare and contrast with today. Not guilty even if he was caught on the least grainy CCTV image carrying the goods into his house.
