What on earth is that racket? Then why does it segue into something that sounds like we're getting married?
-
Come on Legion...that's the bells which are ringing for claret and blue
-
They have got to cut that out it is getting seriously embarrassing. Those bells ringing sound like a bloody wedding they'll be handing out bloody confetti before long. Christ knows what the away fans think of it they must be pissing themselves laughing.
-
Whoever makes these decisions needs shooting...or at least a bloody good slap.
-
It is pretty poor
-
The tannoy is shocking, I was sat in the upper north and the sound was terrible the music being played was deafening. The bells are just awful I said to my mate is someone gettin married
-
It was voted for by the fans, but delivered very poorly.
Non motivational, non rousing, a bit pathetic really.
Bit like the Holte End this season.
-
Anyway by the time the teams come out im F*cking deaf anyway as the tannoy is so loud that I have to shout if I want to talk to my son in the seat next to mine.
I think I would almost rather not have the DJ music blasting out!
[Maybe I'm just getting old!]
-
Couldn't quite make out who it was.It was laughable somebody needs to get a grip and quick.
-
Whoever thought playing something just before kick off that it's impossible to sing over or make an atmosphere to is really in the wrong job.
-
I hate those bells. Its sounds like someone has just got married. So your depressed before they even kick off.
-
We've gone from a tannoy that garbles all the words to one that deafens you. And those bells, just horrible.
-
This version of a well known song is what should be played as entrance music.
Turn the volume up to eleven and give it a try.

Better than the turgid Johnny Cash version they've been playing before kick-off!
But those wedding bells.....I think last season's funereal bells are more appropriate this season >:(
-
The piece of music is called 'Total Indifference'
-
The bells sound shit.
-
Maybe they should try:
Surrender - Elvis Presley
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - Smiths
Is There Anybody Out There? - Pink Floyd
We Don't Care - Akon
And as for a Johnny Cash song, what could be better and more appropriate than 'Hurt'?
-
Those bells are totally embarrassing, both the wedding peel & the 'song' that the club commissioned. They tried something, it didn't work, move on.
For the past few seasons it's sounded more like a church then a football ground & I'm sick of it. Either play something rousing/popular, or switch it off completely
If the club doesn't want to admit defeat on the whole "bells are ringing" thing, they should use Hell's Bells.
-
The bells are ridiculous as is that song they commissioned. The original song would be better or even just the tune, played at a loud enough volume to get people to join in.
-
There's one thing for sure dave clark five, we won't be hearing the song from 1964 made famous by your namesake.........Glad All Over.
-
Can we come out to this?
-

It's still trotted out at Palace after they score, but I get your meaning.
-
The hidden message is that at least there is something in the world which drops more clangers than the Villa midfield.

That song is brilliant at getting the crowd going at Palace

I've always put it down to the beer in the Selhurst Railway Club.
-
I heard the entrance song for the first time yesterday an thought what kind of sh1te is this?? had to ask my brother and cousin if we were attending a wedding a villa park, not to see a carling cup game.
They need to put something like "The eye of the tiger" to get the players pumped up. I bet half of them get depressed hearing the bells thinking that they will be hearing them at their own weddings
-
in the upper north last night, it was just a mess of deafening noise from the tannoy, proper crap, it set the tone for the game well i thought.
-
I sugest you take it up with The General

he's harder to find than Lord Lucan & Shergar. the shit has hit the fan and the powers that be are nowhere to be found.
-
I miss the choir-style, orchestral entrance music we had a couple of years ago. Sends shivers down your spine, especially in an evening game.
Someone on here knows what it's called but I can't remember.

Craig Armstrong: Escape. Still my message alert tone (when my mobile decides to work).

That's the one. It really does make you think something epic is about to happen, even if it almost certainly won't!!
-

"Cry Cry Cry"?
"What Do I Care?"
I suppose as long as it's not "Home Of the Blues". That probably wouldn't appropriate for Villa to run out to.

I'm surprised they didn't play last night another Craig Armstrong tune, 'Let's go out tonight'.
-
they need to sort the team out or else the only tune they can play is "Down, Down, deeper and Down" by the Quo
-
Theme from Benny Hill.
Laurel and Hardy.
-
I hate the bells too!
What was the music they used to come to back in the late 1970's with Morty leading the tesm out and spinning his arms
-
TFAUSM (Hurricane Smith). My ringtone!
-
Back in the Big Ron days and in the big game night games it was "we will rock you" don't know if that is suitable now, maybe we will "shock" you!
-
How about just a soundtrack of boos. May as well start as we mean to finish.
-
the bells are stupid,Its embarrasing in my opinion. We need an upbeat song that gets the ground rocking before the game!
-
I don't suppose it really matters what we have, the tannoy will turn it into mush!

Which is why I suggested on page 1 that we should have 'Ghost Riders In The Sky' by Ramrods. Turn the volume up and give it a listen. If those opening bass lines at full blast don't get people on their feet I don't know what will. Add to that It's an instrumental version, it gives 30 - 40,000 people the chance to sing the 'proper' words.

And the Ricoh it can stay there thank you very much.

Not a bad shout.
-
Mgmt-Kids.we played like it last night.
-
Got to agree, it's an absolute racket. I know it was recorded by a few on the Holte steps but it really is bollocks.
-
Only one contender...
-
Only one contender...
Abso-bloody-lutely
-
Those bells are absolutley atrocious.
-

Nail on head Alex! But the club won't listen will they?
-
Bring back Arcade Fire.

This for me. I love that haunting tune. Reminds me of a time three years ago when I thought we'd conquer all before us.
-
Play Hulk Hogans theme tune, get the bastards pumped up!
-
So how do we get them to stop embarrassing us by playing those god damn awful bells?

When they start next Saturday we all start singing "I'm getting married in the morning" or we fall to our knees and start to pray.
-
Whoever came up with the idea is so out of touch its untrue. We never cease to find new ways of making fools of ourselves.

Was it not the fans? I thought the club managed to turn a good idea into a really bad idea?
-
Bring back Arcade Fire.
agreed 100%
-
Ghost Riders/Craig Armstrong/Arcade Fire/Baa Baa Black Sheep...
...anything but those f***in bells!
-
Relieved that the horrendous bells had been ditched before kick-off yesterday. Thought we'd been spared them until we were leaving, when they were cranked up as the players left the pitch. I half-expected them to exit two by two, holding hands, in a shower of confetti.
