Hi guys, just clearing the loft out and came across this book - I was one of the original "sponsors" and have my name listed at the back - Number 200
I note some other recognisable names :

I picked up copies of "Children of The Revolution" and " Villa Park 100 years" off e-bay and they were fantastic finds.
I picked up "The Weir and the Wonderful" in the old Villa shop in the Pavillions a few years back for around £6. What a steal.
3 fantastic Villa books ( although none are a patch on Mr Woodhalls offerings) ;)

I have mine waiting for me on my return to Brum.
I have a very beautiful connection to Terry, he used to develop his photos at Aston University and my uncle knew him well, basically just said he was a wonderful chap. The beautiful connection comes with a signed squad photo of the 1977 team, the rest I hope to share with you all in the near future (once I understand how to use the scanner).

Terry Weir was an all round wonderful person, and somebody who should be as well respected at the club as any full time member of staff. I had three dealings with him.
Firstly, I was in Brum for the weekend in November 1982 when we beat Brighton at home 2-1. The Sunday was open doors to pay for a photo with the European Cup. I was as sick as a dog but queued with the masses and mentioned that I had to get a train back to Sheffield, where I was a student. Terry ushered me to the front of the queue and had my photos done in a couple of minutes. These were later lost as my mom had to downscale from a house to a flat to a single room at my sister’s, (though somehow her Shirley Bassey and Tommy Steele collection made it intact) so she contacted Terry Weir to see if he could provide copies for her as a surprise to me. He duly obliged and sent her a handwritten note in the process.
The following year, coming back on the Travellers coach from a shite 2-1 away defeat to QPR on the plastic pitch in September 1983, I mentioned to Terry that I was from Great Barr too. He made sure to wait for me when he got off the coach and he and his wife dropped me off at the Scott Arms.
Finally, I delivered mail to him as a Christmas postal worker when I was a student – he used to live in Sycamore Avenue on the Sandwell side of Great Barr. He was lovely and I think he and his wife gave me a cuppa, but this part is hazy.

Is great picture Bernie, reflects 70's nicely - though does look a little like a publicity still for Lord of the Rings!

That picture is incorrectly captioned as 'balloons on the holte' - it's actually at The Sty.

I'm not one of the subscribers, but I own and cherish my copy.
I "met" him once - waiting for a lift at Aston University, but I was a tongue-tied adolescent and he was having a conversation with someone else and showing them some of the pictures from the match we'd played the night before. Who we were playing is lost in the mists of time, but I remember the other bloke saying something along the lines of what a great picture and Terry saying he'd got lucky.
