It was Janus but his brother Hugh got that pissed off they changed it to Jeenus.

I read somewhere like wiki or the grauniad that Jermaine's dad changed his name from Genas to Jenas so he could get his own initials to be DJ . Therefore Jermaine, DJ's son, is JJ and Jenas is pronounced Gee Nus :)
