Just read that Liam Ridgewell has handed in a transfer request at the small heath. Would you have him back at Villa?
-
No way. He simply isn't good enough. Not even as cover.
-
No thank you
-
Were currently desperate, however theres still a little part of me that thinks we have some standards, do not take this belief away from me Villa!
-
If I had the choice? No.
But he was a big part of the defensive stability Big Eck oversaw at the Heathens, he weighs in with his fair share of goals and he knows the club. He might have also improved a wee bit in the years he's been away, as a regular starter for a (sometimes) Prem outfit. A limited team as poor as B-lose would have had more than their fair share of defending to do, so if nothing else he's got a fair bit of experience under his belt now.
I'd be disappointed If he re-signs, can't pretend otherwise. Letting all the players we have go and calling Agent Ridgewell back to base wouldn't be my definition of team strengthening. But a stretch of 10-15 games as part of a miserly defence and a few goals up the other end would probably be enough for me to revise that, fickle sugarbag that I am.

Pretty much bang on how I feel.
-
No...because he's done such a great job as a double agent.
-
Me too. Wasn't bothered when we sold him but according to the couple of noses I know he's improved a lot. So, while in some ways it seems like a backward step who knows? Cant really see it happening though
-
Decent player and wouldn't mind having him back but Cuellar's a better option as cover
-
No. Because I never rated him.
I have never seen a defender at corners who seemed so wound up, his head spinning through 360 degrees hopping about as he tried to keep track of his opponent and spreading panic amongst his team mates.
Oh yes, he is also an own goal specialist.

No because he's an awful defender - in fact I'd rather have Liam Gallagher
-
No, not because of his smallheathen habits but because he is simply not good enough even as cover.
It saddens me that our stock has fallen so low that a question like this is being asked.
-

Nah, he's a ball watcher ( and a wanker )
-
No way from me would rather have Dann than Ridgewell.
-

I'd rather have LeAnn Rimes.
-
Dear God, no!
-
As a reserve he'd do a job. Somehow i don't think out budget stretches to reserves nowadays.
-
I've already said it'll be the end of me, I will lose interest in the Villa completely if they do it, No fucking way from me
-

ah come on he wasn't that bad was he?
-
I thought so. A liability at times, really.
-
If AM wants to see another 5000 supporters disappear on matchday that would be a good way to achieve it.
-
he was a kid so he made plenty of mistakes but he's got a bit better since. Decent average defender, nowt special. Certainly not in the Curtis Davies scale of shiteness
-
He's not as bad as Davies but jesus he's worth about 10 pens a season with his handballs, he's terrible. We sold him for a reason, Coming back would be a nightmare, there is only one player I'd have back and I wont mention his name

Yes he was and he still is.
A few Nose mates say that they love him because he gives 100% every time but even they admit that he is a defensive liability and his mistakes led to a fair few goals last season.
-
No, he's not good enough.
-
Absolutely not. Nothing to do with his current employers, and everything to do with the fact that he's not very good.
-
If he did come back they would have to give Given extra penalty saving practice!!!!
-
We are not becoming that shite that players like him on our radar ?
-

He hasn't got that much better.
They play him at left back so that his mistakes are now less obvious (and costly)
-
No thanks. Thought he was a liability when he was here and he was great for us on the dark side. Ciaran Clark is way ahead of him and I'd rather keep Carlos than re-sign Ridgewell
-
Nice lad, honest pro, improved at the Rags but we simply don't need him. Anyway, we've just signed Edna as cover at left back, so I don't think we'll be seeing Agent Ridgewell returning to base.
-
I'd heard WBA were after him, so perhaps that's where he's off too
-
If we get him back then we are doomed and I can only see a relegation fight.
Surely not ?
-
No he is rubbish and if we do it's goodnight Vienna!
-
No. He probably isn't better than Warnock & is no where near as good as Clark & Cuellar.
-
Is this thread serious ?
He`s shit, always been shit and always will be shit.We sold him cos he was shit, why the fuck would we take him back when we`re having a mass clear out of shit?
-
We sold him for a profit, thank you, job done, move on.
-
No thanks, too many fouls pens and own goals. He's shit and there's a reason no ones claimed him
-
To quote Miles Hunt " No,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no"
-
When we sold him I thought maybe we should have kept him as cover and he might come back with Blues to bite us on the bum. All he did was bite them on their bum. He did a decent job for them out of position at left back but the reason he was out of position in the first place was that he wasn't one of their best two centre halfs. To sum up, no!
-

I think Dwight Yorke has retired.
