I may have posted this before but if i have i dont care, it deserves to be replayed over and over. One of many enjoyable games from the BFR era and the only goal ever scored by Mr P in a Villa shirt..... or i am wrong?

Ahhh Gary Penrice, I so wanted him to be great, nevermind! Thanks for posting, I had forgotten all about that one.
-
Watford fans had a protest when we bought him.

One of my best mates favourite players of all time - mind he's a Bristol Rovers fan.
-
Didn't he call our pristine bright green sand 'a pudding of a pitch' when he left?

to be fair, by the end of the season - and in 1995-96 as well - it was.

He played 20 games for us and yes he only scored once.

Twenty years ago? Frightening. Wasn't he Cox and Stas the only Dr Jo signings? My claim to fame is seeing Ivo Stas play and score for the Villa. Witney Town 1991, I think Big Ron's first game in charge of the Villa. I seem to remember it hitting the side netting and going in that way but the ref gave a goal.

Just remembered, wasn't that the game when BFR chased down the touchline alongside Tony Daley cheering him on whilst he was running with the ball?

And he claimed in a subsquent interview that Daley was holding his tie. It's that sort of sense of humour the game lacks these days.
Let's face it, Wenger and McCleish hardly have you roling in the aisles do they?

I went to the Man Utd game in midweek (lost 1-0 to a penalty scored by some dirty old drunkard) instead of this, bad decision, though we didn't play that badly if I remember right.
The BFR-era is probably my fondest spell of watching the Villa.

Who is the number 11 who set Penrice up. Seems to be at left back despite Staunton scoring first.
Bryan Small? Mark Blake? Paul Mortimer?

After checking my the new edition of Aston Villa: A Complete Record (a birthday present from yesterday) it seems it was Paul Mortimer - I suppose it would have been easier to watch the clip.
