From not being able to hear anything to about ten billion decibels... forget the bells, my bloody ears are ringing!
-
Contrast to Witton Upper where the PA is that bad that I couldn't make out a single word said.
Did they play 'the bells' before kick off?

Great stuff, I'll sit up there against Wolves, the damn thing was excruciatingly loud.
-
Bloody typical, it's gone from being useless to so loud you need ear plugs. And what exactly was that distorted piece of music they played as the teams came out.?
-
Sitting in the lower Trinity I could hear some loud tinny echoing from the Holte. It was rather like Radio 5 in my van when I am about 30 yards inside the Queensway tunnel.
In fact in the whole time I have been going to Villa Park the sound system has always been bloody rubbish.
After straining my ears for 45 years to hear whats going on, I think I may have done permanent damage to my hearing. I should contact one of those compensation companies that advertise on TV.

Mention it to the General, he'll look into it for you...

I tried calling Nicky Keye but she hung up when I said "Hi, The General..."
-
We were wondering whether the Take That concert team had forgotten to take some speakers out.
-
Far, far too loud and no they did not play the Quasimodo theme tune.
While I am on the topic I think is very regrettable that somebody sees the need to cut across all the spontaneous goal celebration by the crowd with big fake Las Vegas boxing preliminary style PA cheer leading. I want to be able to sing the Gabby song when he scores a goal like that yesterday not be drowned out by inane rabble rousing by the PA likewise we got no chance to sing he used to be shite but now he's alright to Mr Em when he scored. Likewise when Villa come out after half time. We are simply apeing lesser clubs who have fans who find it hard to choose whether to go to the football or clean the car.

Thankfully not. There was a church-like peal of bells and I thought at least it was a better start than last seasons funereal intro to 'The Bells Are Ringing', but then went into a piece of music I didn't recognise. As others have said the sound quality in the Holte was much improved but way too loud - at half time we were having to shout at each other to make ourselves heard!
-
It might just be because they were expecting some sort of crowd noise.
-
Personally, I thought it was great that they had sorted it. Didn't think it was too loud at all.
-
Pretty inaudible in the Trinity though.

Which area were you sat in? Towards the back of L4 it was unbearable.
-
It was shocking in the Upper Trinity. Couldn't hear a word, just some sort of time delayed echo.
-
Could barely hear the speakers in the upper DE. Whatever sound that was coming out was drowned out by a blaring echo from the Holte End.
-
I sit on row OO in the centre of the Holte and thought it was way too loud those around me did too, perhaps they are selling claret and blue earplugs now?
-
For some reason, I have an urge to go and see "Conan The Barbarian".
-
I suspect that the PA system is to be sponsored by Otex. If you think that volume of assault on the human eardrums is acceptable the odds are that you have an ear wax problem.
-
Couldn't hear a word in the Upper Trinity - given upon our PA system to be honest.
Ditto the screen in the corner, still not back !
BS from the General I'm afraid, he said it was down last season due to a bit of re-building in that area of the ground, well it's next season now, and a blank corner again.
-
That Elbow song at half time was great, although it was that loud i can still hear it now.
-
I agree was too loud but at least we can now hear the music and announcments. I particularly liked the piano house after the final whistle.

Block K3 Row 21.

I sit in the lower Trinity c1 and was so loud it made my ears ring.
Do not think they will ever sort it out. Not looking forward to Tuesday might bring some earplugs.
-
Far too loud, half time is a time for chatting to your mates who sit around you, scoffing down a pie etc., not being defend and made to listen to a poor Conan trailer twice, spare us this kind of crap!
