I stumbled upon this site and thought a few others might be interested. Apologies if it's been posted before. http://www.astonvillabadges.co.uk/

Cheers for posting this, GV, very interesting - especially commentaries - and I've not seen before. I am fortunate to have badge no 5 on the pre-1940's page from the 1924 English Cup Final. This was passed on to me by my grandfather, who was an avid Villa fan, before he died in 1969; it is silver, and appropriately hallmarked. I also have badge no 13 from the 1940's-1960's page, from the 1957 F.A. Cup Final - this was kindly gifted to me by a customer in the jewellery quarter in the mid-1980's.

A badge I remember well from the 70's which I cant see on the site was rectangular split horizontally, claret on top and blue bottom half, bearing the legend Aston Villa - Holte Enders. It was pretty popular at the time so I'm surprised it's not up there

What a great website, some of those take me back a while, the round crest on the home page thumbnails went everywhere with me in the eighties, you couldnt wear badges in the pubs round town, so i became an expert at removing it and replacing it in a flash `cos the doormen would bar you if they saw one, places like Sam Wellers and Le Pub (shit name or what - the Parissiene was much more original), would stop you dead. i`de have it back on before we`d even passed the twats.
