As my love for the game gets smaller every year,I think i need some new footballing values to lift me for the upcoming season. This isn't to do with the Villa(though its been a rough summer)its the over exposure to modern football in general.
Stop watching SSN.
Stop listening to Talksport.
Stop buying tabloid papers.
Stop watching England matches(to be fair,i've only seen one since the World Cup)
Reduce the amount of Premier and Champion League games I watch.
Watch more Championship games.
Watch more non league football.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. UTV.

All of the above.
Aswell as watching MOTD on a Saturday waiting for Linekar to say "And finally.........Aston Villa"!!
-
Stop listening to Talksport.
I did this about 5 years ago and I feel like a much better person as a result. Stopped caring about England and no longer watch SSN either.
I'm not buying FIFA this year. Nosireebob.
-
To stop shouting abuse at:
refs
downing (job done!)
the people around me who tell me to stop shouting abuse
I give it 5 minutes into first game!
-
Stop running the B-lose down.
I do not think that will last long.lol

At the minute I only listen to it when Danny Kelly is on,I feel far better for it.
-
Don't let it worry me.
It'll last until 3:01pm tomorrow.
-
To not shout FOR FUCKS SAKE every time we give the ball away
I give it about 8 seconds
-
I won't freak out if Darren Bent goes 3 games without a goal.
-
I won't panic if Heskey gets a start.
I won't criticize our new 37 year old mid-season signing.
I won't criticize our lack of defending at set plays tomorrow.
I will back Stephen Ireland 100% unreservedly tomorrow
-
Not to freak out on Match threads if we go a goal down....
-
Not to get too upset about bad results.
That definitely won't last.
-
not to call heskey a c**t
not to slag the manager off , its not his fault
not to froth at my mouth at all the other teams that play in the same league , its not good for my heart
just ignore Downing , I shouldnt get upset , hes only only a wanker ....
watch my little toe on the coffee table when Villa score ...
dont ignore my GF dressed in skimpy underwear , when she says would you like an ice cold beer while you are watching Villa...
-
Start watching Villa games round Juan Pablos house.

Sounds good to me.

Between now and the 31st August I'll stop checking Ceefax every 5 minutes with the forlorn hope we have signed someone.
-
All of the above plus
Stop buying the Daily Mirror and avoid Savage Nursey and Holt. A big decision because I my Dad taught me to read using the Mirror when there were no books during the war.
Stop saying to those I walk to the games with "why the fuck doesn't Birmingham Corporation clean these streets up?"
and "these tower blocks should have been pulled down thirty years ago."
and stop moaning about the prices of the food and drink in the ground.
and moaning moaning about people pushing past all through the game.
and stop carrying on about the juveniles who constantly do the stand up if you love Villa thing.
and stop listening to 606 thus avoiding Savage and Fatty Green.
and stop being superstitious about lucky hats and lucky socks.
and stop trying to make a case for eating chips before and after the game.
and stop complaining about the vile smells in Witton Lane from the catering ventilation.
and stop complaining about the volume of the public address system.
and stop ridiculing the Quasimodo bells.
and stop commenting on how fat everybody is getting who sit around me.
and stop taking the piss out of the wide open spaces in front of the healthy eating bar.
and to make the effort to write something every week for Dave however idle I feel and however down McLeish has made me.
and always remember how bloody cold Birmingham is and carry an extra warm coat for myself and each of my kids in my car.
and finally try not to die before the end of the season.
That about covers it for the moment.

Sounds good to me.
I watch non league regularly and I'm warning you, It's shit.
Southport v Luton the day England played Wales was the final straw for me.
-
I resolve to stop drooling over Gabby Logan on Final Score when Villa are playing away.
Start a petition to get Danny Baker to bring back The Sausage Sandwich Game.
Not to giggle like a loon when reading H&V whilst waiting for Kick Off, I've noticed that it makes people around me feel uncomfortable.
-
More drinking
-
Not going out on the lash and getting in at 4 before having to get up at 7 before away games.
-
Stop being upset when we lose and to cut down on my betting on football matches.
-
Going to try and stop being so emotionally involved. (not going to happen. Love my team to much) anyway it was a short thought ..........
-
I need to temper my expectation for this season - another transitional job, I think.
I need to get to more away games - if tickets can be had.
I hope that the 4-5 most promising 'kids' really do cut loose.
I hope Milner gets more pitch-time, wherever he plays.
No comments re the fortunes of Downing and Young.

Phew!
