Nice touch
-
Superb.
-
Lest we forget... really nice touch
-
My sincere gratitude to all who made the ultimate sacrifice for me and mine.
-
Looks bloody good that. Kudos to all who donated. Great idea.
-
It does look good. This is not a criticism, why and when was it decided that we should omit the verse from Philip Larkin's MCMXIV?

It didn't look right, plus the copyright owners couldn't be arsed to reply.

Fair enough.
-
It looks great. Well done all.
-
That's excellent, well done to all involved.
-
Class. Have any attempts been made to let relatives of those named know about it or even relatives in general through the media or any other means? It would be a shame if some people who would personally appreciate this weren't aware of it.
-
solid job to all concerned. It's always good to remember those aho have fallen to give us a better future.
-
Looks great, top job Dave.
-
Well done to all concerned.
-
I couldn't be more chuffed. Arthur Dobson was my Grandad's brother. Family pride that his name will be seen at Villa Park. Thanks so much to all who made this happen.
I'll visit it to pay my respects every game.
-
A human touch, bringing football back into perspective. Excellent.
-
Very classy.
-
Well done.
-
Very very appropriate, parents can point it out to kids on visits to VP, without them and many like them we would not be living in our ''free''society.
-
A distinguished and moving memorial. Well done to Dave and all others involved.
-
Well done.
-
It looks good. Well done.
-
Well done to all concerned. Something to be rightly proud of.
-
That looks very good. Nothing but respect for those who gave their lives serving with our Armed Forces.
-
Respect - a worthy memorial.
-
Well done to all concerned. When we have a game on or near November 11th is there a clear space beneath it to place a poppy or two?
-
Yes, Brian. There is plenty of space beneath the plaque for tributes.
-
Thanks Leeg. It will be a privilege to show respect. I will even forgo my annual joke when asked to buy a poppy replying "no thanks I have kept mine from last year".

Is it still under copyright? I thought there was a 60 year limit?

He's not been dead that long.
-
Wouldn't copyright not kick in from when it was first published, 1964 I think? That still takes us up to 2024 mind.

It's 50 years from the author's death.

Never knew that. I always believed it was a 60 year limit for songwriters / poets from time of publishing. (And I though the poem was older then that)
