I posted the Daley goal quite recently but here are all the goals from this memorable match. I remember Les Sealey disappearing behind the fog as it got thicker in the second half but you could still hear him bellowing at his defence out of the mist.

Two things I recall most about this game.
Fisrt, it was flippin freezing, the players could barely stand up down at the Holte End. That end was nearly as bad at the home game against 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' in 82.
The other was a single piece of skill down at that end. In the first half, while everyone else was slipping around, Lord McGrath managed to flick a cross away from the goal with the back of his heel. IIRC he could do that but not when it was -3 and he's defending on an ice rink.

Weren't there a few arrests in the City end? I'm sure I heard them chanting 'on the pitch, on the pitch...'
Maybe that was West Ham on boxing day the same season?

It often kicked off against Citeh around that time.
We played them around 1989 at home on a Sunday 0-0 and it all kicked off in the Trinity Lower iirc.

Cheers for that Deano.

We never played Man City at hone in 1989, we did a year later when they killed off our title hope with a 2-1 defeat which was on a Sunday.

I remember the season just before when David White scored 4 against us, lovely goal from Daley too.
