In this morning's Sunday Mercury he's telling us that we're being too critical of Lerner selling Young and Downing! Because we spent £24M on Bent it has to be balanced with these sales! What the fuck does he know about the financial workings of Aston Villa? Firstly, we paid £18M for Bent with the surplus of the Milner deal and secondly, we'd still have Young and Downing if they'd signed the contract extensions offered to them.
So there, Jez is telling us not to criticise the hierarchy at our club - do as you're told!!

It's Moxey and the Mudraker.
Ignore it.
-
Thanks for the advice Mr Poxy.
Now mind your own fucking business.
Concentrate on avoiding relegation with Mick 'It 'et up to big man up top' McCarthy.

The article is by Baggie Bill! Having said that, I respect the articles and contributions of Mat Kendrick - I think on the whole, he's a pretty reliable source of information

Our old 'mate' Bill Howell -- IGNORE !

He's a tool that loves the sound of his own voice, why he's even commenting on us is beyond me.

Wolves supremo defends Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner
Jul 17 2011 by Bill Howell, Sunday Mercury
WOLVES chief executive Jez Moxey believes the critics should lay off Villa chairman Randy Lerner.
The double sale of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing has not gone down too well with claret and blue supporters.
It’s the other end of the scale for Moxey who this week saw his Molineux outfit sign Roger Johnson to add to the summer captures of Jamie O’Hara and Dorus de Vries.
But he is clearly of the opinion that Villa’s board had backed Gerard Houllier to such a degree that the sales were inevitable.
“I have been reading about Aston Villa and the papers were saying that perhaps they need to be careful with what they have done simply because they have sold a couple of players,” he said. “It is so easy for fans to forget that they spent a reported sum of £24million on Darren Bent in January. People just forget that that sort of outlay needs paying for.
“It is the same with us – we have bought players.”
Wolves will be attempting to balance their own books in the coming weeks with sales of fringe players. “We are not afraid to spend but we also have to give people the right opportunity and that might mean playing elsewhere at times,” Moxey added. “I think fans accept players come and go and I don’t think there will be any concerns about what we are doing. We don’t want to sell and don’t need to sell any of our top players – we want to keep everybody to progress in the Premier League.”

The guy's an arse and you should just try not to read anything he writes.
At the same time:
"What the fuck does he know about the financial workings of Aston Villa? "
Could I ask what the fuck you know about the financial workings of Aston Villa?
-
Thanks for that 'Jez'. I will forthwith lay of Lerner on your advice.
Incidentally, who would take their given name and insist, in print, it be rendered 'Jez' as nomenclature of choice?
Only a ******.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
I love the way people say Bent was bought with the Milner money... as if we signed Milner on a free and sold him for £6 billion. We paid £12 million and received £16 million from Man City. By the time you take into account the signing-on fee and loyalty fees we would have paid him (as he never asked for a transfer) I doubt we made £2 million on him.
Darren Bent's signing probably cost us about double the combined profit from Milner, Young and Downing. Even if you count Barry as £12 million profit Lerner has still spent an absolute fortune on the club and there are still weeks to go before the end of this transfer window.
-
He is living his dream through us as he doesn't have to make decisions to buy and sell players at circa £20M so let him be....
-
Woe betide a sports-journalist for a Birmingham newspaper having an opinion about Aston Villa.
What is he thinking?

I think the facts that its an article by Bill Howell in relation to comments Moxey has made tells you everything you need to know.
Bill "Mr Agenda" Howell and Jez "Ive just sanctioned a 7 million pounds transfer for Roger Johnson"
Pair of grade A wally's

Most people call me Jez and I'm not a c**t. At least I hope not. Then again at least I'm useful I guess.
