McDowell / Westy / and tbc for my bets and support. I'm looking forward to it.

That said we've had some no marks win it out the blue in recent years - Hamilton, Curtis and Lederhosen or whatever his name was last year so who can tell.

He's my main bet but with such a big field having a few sheckles on Kuchar, Els, Rose, Jacobsen, Wilson and Hansen.

If McIlroy wins having not played since winning the US Open then he is the next coming of Christ never mind the next Tiger Woods!

I'm gonna have a few quid each way on Cabrera, Choi and Cink methinks.

Golf, Tennis and horse racing are my three least favourite major sports. Thank goodness there is the Tour De France and the athletics world championships to rescue the summer...not to mention the cricket of course!

I agree with taylors above as well, the emotions he must have been going through to play in the Ryder Cup in '06 so soon after his wife had passed away.

Surely they deserve to host an open championship in the near future. Royal County Down and Royal Portrush are both wonderful courses.

I've recently been having a few lessons and I'm keen to get more time on the course rather than the driving range. A H&V Golf Society would be good - have clubs, will travel. Failing that, anybody in the South East fancy a game, get in touch.
