Interesting article (http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/columnists/michael-calvin/Michael-Calvin-on-Aston-Villa-protests-and-internet-abuse-Why-real-fans-must-find-voice-and-weed-out-the-scum-dragging-down-our-game-article749114.html)

Well I thought the protest was too much and the abuse was a disgrace.

What does SONCE O SCUM TALWAYS CSCUM mean?

What does SONCE O SCUM TALWAYS CSCUM mean?
Scum Talways was always my first choice for manager, at least he isnt a bluenose like that Mcleish bloke.
-
Apparently the writer of the article hasn't seen Brasseye.
-
A pathetic article.
I have no truck with the anti-eck protests, but I understand why they have become more commonplace.
First team players routinely on £1m+ a year, seats pushing towards £50 as the norm, and most fans are having to think about whether they can afford the petrol alone to home and away games.
Its about estrangement, its about F****** Eck getting a 50% wage rise to come here, its about feeling on the outside, not specifically as a Villa fan, bur as a football fan generally.

What does SONCE O SCUM TALWAYS CSCUM mean?
It`s Latin for "WE WILL SUPPORT OUR MANAGER 100%"
-
It reads SOTC vertically.
-
As always, after the event, comes the sanctimonious claptrap. The press were down there slobbering for a story and described the mainly good natured protest as 'fury', 'outrage' and even 'war'. And of course, they opted to talk exclusively to the apes and the 'nawotarmean innit' mob, making it all look worse than it actually was.

And don't forget the same vultures from the gutter press will be out in force both inside and outside the ground for our first few home games.
Wouldn't really piss them off if we didn't give them what they are after?

What did anyone expect?

The simple fact s that if the man in question had not previously managed the Noses that protest would not have taken place. We all know it.
Now that might not be the only objection that some of those taking part had but it took the Small Heath connection to make it happen. The bloke in the white t-shirt, who later climbed the gates, was stressing when interview about how it wasn't just about that. His argument was slightly undermined by having SOTC written in felt-tip down his sleeve.

He gets paid to write that?
What a pathetic little paper.

Lerner has ploughed millions into an investment he is apparently beginning to regret.
Panicked into rejecting Steve McClaren, he at least didn’t make the same mistake twice.
If Villa fans don’t agree with him, they have a simple option: don’t turn up.
That part of the article is enough to prove that Michael Calvin is talking out of his arse.

The Mercury is never on my shopping list, but many posters on this site warned that articles such as this would appear as a result of the "protest", so it's somewhat ironic that the people who advocated protesting are now complaining that the press have done exactly as predicted.
I guess it's one of life's little ironies.

Interesting.
