I completely forgot about this.
What have I missed? Has Carl Froch been on yet?
-
He's on at about 2.30am.
-
Cheers Dave, might tape it then can't be arsed to stay up that late.
-
Carl Froch won Well done Carl.

Carl Froch won Well done Carl.
His missus was a bit of alright I noticed.

I've just watched Kell Brook vs Lovemore N'Dou, and it was a terrific performance by Brook really ready to step up to World level. Macklin is putting in a great performance against Sturm in Germany at the moment.
-
Great fight whatever the result.
-
Dodgy decision.

Dodgy decision.
Should of been a draw at the least, dirty cheating as always bastards.
-
Yeah should have been, but both fights were terrific and an advert for boxing.
-
Hmmm. Macklin v Elcock in Birmingham. 'Battle of Brum,' corner wearing Small Heath shirts. Macklin v Sturm, he's now more Irish than Paddy McGinty's goat.
-
That's as maybe Dave, but he was robbed tonight to yet another German block/jab/run away-for-12-rounds-get-the-home-decision fighter, a la Sven Ottke. How two judges gave it to Sturm by 4 rounds, unless they're bent, I'll never know.
And that's far from the worse decision I've seen given over here.
-
I don't know that was nothing like a Sven Ottke, Sturm put in a lot of good work. He never won by 4 rounds but a split decision I could see looking back at it.
-
I gave it to Sturm by a round, but he's the home fighter and the champion so Macklin was never going to get the decision. It wasn't a robbery, and in any case after some of the Sky Fight Night decisions over the past few years we hardly have room to talk.
-
Hmmm, I wouldn't say a lot of good work, he did belatedly try to up in the second half, but the more work came from Macklin.
Good thing for Haye next week that Wlad has a glass jaw.
-
I'm in Germany(although not for the fight) for that fight so I'll be interested to experience it over there.

The only German commentator who a) knows what he's talking about or b) will admit when a home fighter clearly got a bent decision is on German Eurosport, so you'll never hear him on live TV unfortunately. He's like a German Terry Wogan almost, with his exasperation at dodgy decisions matching Wogan's despair at Eurovision Voting.
On the plus side, here it'll be on RTL I think, basically free-to-air, non PPV. And maybe at a decent hour of the day (although I haven't checked, but the Americans would rather watch paint dry than the Klitchkos).

Haye will be waiting in the ring for an hour before the fight next week. The WBA should be ashamed after what happened tonight.
