Time for some light hearted relief. Haven't had one of these types of threads in a while.
The all time Villa 11 most hated (in correct positions !) going on the old fashioned numbers.

It is hard to actually hate anyone who wears the claret and blue, some I have seen have just annoyed me coz they were basically not very good or not very committed - Ivor Linton, Ginola, Paul Mortimer, Curcic come to mind.

I'd have Schmeichel or James in there way ahead of Enks. James cost us a cup final, Enks cost us their cup final.

Alpay, Kiraly (those fucking jogging bottoms! Jesus), Ginola, Curcic, Dunne, Ireland, Beye, Drobny (I recall he had a reasonable rep before joining, but clearly didn't make any effort), Warnock, Baros.
Baros did drive me nuts at times but I have forgiven him for his 2 goals that sank Blues at Villa Park in DOLs last season.

James was good for us bar one match. Schmeichel was shit for us in just about every match. It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't been so bloody brilliant for the Pride of Cornwall!

I think a lot of you are getting "hated" mixed up with "disappointed". I was disappointed when Cascarino, Paul Mortimer and Kiraly turned out to be useless but I don't hate them for it.
I'm far more likely to "hate" players of of obvious talent who act like they can't be arsed (Ireland, Callaghan) or shit on the club generally with the way they leave (Hodge, for instance) or comments made after they leave (Gardner).

Never really hated any Villa players, but loathed players that had talent and just wasted it. Two players with loads of talent but completely wasted it were Sasa Curcic and Nigel Callaghan. Special mention also to Stan Collymore.

Schmeichal has gotta be in goal the red nosed, girdle wearing wanker. I hated him at Man U with a passion, I still hated him at the Villa, possibly my most hated player ever.
I was never a fan of John 'Awooooooooooooooooogaaaa' Fashanu.
I didn't like Gavin McCann on the basis he was even less of a forward threat than Mark Draper.
Hassan Kachloul was about as much fun as a runny turd in a canoe.

Geoff Vowden suffered terrible abuse, mostly because of his previous club. Fair play to him that he battled through and won over most fans but his treatment was harsh and almost cruel.

Collymore once told on talksport how he was under severe depression at Villa and actually came very close to suicide - I don't think his below par performances for us are enough to call him "not a Villa fan".

From memory he thought he was far, far better than he actually was and as such didn't need to put the required effort in. He was getting a bit of stick from the crowd because of this and turned around and gave the wankers sign.
Instantly forgettable player.

I got that dodgy perm & crappy headband but I bet I'm a better defender than he was. Maybe if he has a mullet then, our point of view of him might be different now. I guess hair plays a big part in footballers' abilities.

without doubt the most hated player at villa (and older fans will agree) was Steve Hodge, in the game against norwich he fought with a steward and i swear to god his back pass to a norwich player to score was delberate because of all the stick he was gettin :(
