Too soon, much too soon - don't want to know, let me enjoy the summer and weekends not being ruined by football.
(but early warning of a decent pre-season game in Europe would be nice so I can make arrangements for a few days away - don't fancy the Hong Kong 39th game v Blackburn thingy)

Mu oldest friend is getting married on 13th August. She emailed me saying "Hope you can make it - it's not the football season". I thought to myself - I think it is....

It's got to be an away this year hasn't it?

According to my maths, one Premier League team will have to start in Round One of the League Cup next year. I hope they pick the lowest-placed club (Wolves). If they decide by random draw it's bound to be us!

If a Premier League club did have to start in Round 1 would that not be Swansea?

Not according to this: It's on Wikipedia so it must be true (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_League_Cup#Preliminary_round)

They'll introduce a preliminary round to allow for the fact that a Championship team will get a bye to the third round. And hopefully an early exit in their defence of the cup.

Ah, thanks. Crawley v Wimbledon then, I guess.

Cheers Andy - was looking for when the fixtures came out as I want to squeeze in a tour of the Scottish highlands in the small window in August between the midges disappearing (31st July) and the start of the Scottish winter (1st September)  ;)

Now that's what I call a pre-season tour - Inverness, Buckie and Fort Wiliiam. Far more appealing than Blackburn and Chelsea with a chiwawa for breakfast.

If you're going to be xenophobic, try to be geographically and gramatically accurate as well.
