Some fantastic moments and memories here including my favourite goal of his vs Man City just before Xmas 1991.
-
thanks for that, thoroughly enjoyed watching that one. Must have been pretty much every goal he scored! Definitely my favourite player at the time, even more than McGrath or Platt or Cowans. Only ever replaced in my affections by Yorke.
-
Enjoyed that a lot thanks Deano

That Manchester City goal you mention was the first thing I wanted to emulate that Christmas with my new Villa football and favourite ever Villa top.

I was lucky enough to meet Tony a few weeks back as I was filming at the Wolves training ground. I must admit, I didn't recognise him at first glance. He had to be pointed out to me. I was ashamed with myself as he was my first Holte End hero!
He seemed a very humble, nice bloke who attends Villa Park regularly. Our meeting was just after the Wigan home game: he was in agreement with me, just how crap we were that day. I asked him if he would get in a picture with me (something I never do! But this was Tony Daley)

Tony Daley = Legend
Thanks for putting the video up!

Great video, thanks for adding that and weren't there some good goals?
-
Cheers for the link, I have great memories of Tony Daley for us. It's a pity his career ended up so blighted with injuries.
-
Blimey he scored quite a few goals and I had forgotten most of them!
-
He used to take a fair amount of stick for his lack of delivery, but for a time, he was probably the most exciting winger in the country. Pre Giggs and Kanchelskis.
The enduring image I have of the 89/90 season was of fullbacks being dumped on their arse. There was that Luton bod in that clip, Lee Dixon at home just before Christmas and countless others.
Something I never clocked (or forgot) until looking at that vid - he was capable of scoring with both feet too.
-
this was the man that got me to watch football
no-one since (Villa shirt or anyone else) has been as exciting to watch
-
I remember the volley/scissors kick against everton as it was the first time I had grown tall enough to see a goal without someone's head partially obstructing my view. I couldn't believe he attempted it and that he managed to wallop it passed Neville Southall, that and how he was one of my heroes will stick with me forever.

It was also one of the coldest days on the Holte End ever. Fact.
-
I loved Tony Daley, great to see some of those goals again!
-
Good Vid Deano always liked Tony Daley made me excited every time he got the ball really good player.

The goal in front of us at The Hawthorns was always my favourite. I think that was his best season too.
